I was a patient years ago and got a root canal done. I knew the job was not completed as I felt horrible discomfort and when I called and called to get an appointment to get it rechecked I was dismissed. Finally one day they let me see the dentist. Conveniently the people that took my money and the dentist who did the root canal had an "emergency". A new dentist looks at it and says everything is great. I repeatedly told her I can feel discomfort and can smell a very foul smell from that teeth. I even begged them to just let me know if I have to go see a specialist. I was in so much pain and had to take so much time off for this They maxed out my insurance so I had to wait. So finally I seek another doctor help and was referred to a specialist that told me exactly what I suspected, the roots were not completely remove!!! I needed to get my wisdom teeth removed and I wanted it to be as painless and as cheap as possible. What I got from Smile Studio was phenomenally quick service and a great price. The breakdown: First thing that hit me was that the place was pretty and modern. I thought because of this the prices were going to be outrageous. But I will soon find out that I was soo wrong. I made an appointment on the phone and moments after I arrived, I was given a form to fill out. Very shortly after that (had to be less than 10 mins) i was seen by Dr. Tiger and given a free consultation. The (very friendly) assistant took my X-rays and the Dr. came and explained the procedure to me. Basically an extraction for my wisdom tooth. He told me that if I wanted i could have the procedure done right then and there and they'll give me a prescription for my painkillers and antibiotics right away. OMG. I thought I had to wait hours for my teeth cleanings like at my old dentist but nope. This was great seeing as I came right after classes and I just wanted to have this thing over with. So I agreed and then I was given a lot of time to ask the assistant questions without even feeling a bit rushed. (This is important to me since this was the first time I had to take care of my dental care as a college student and I wanted to get a lot of things straight) The prices were great compared to the other places I called up prior (I thought minimum I had to pay was $400 for the consultion, medication, and procedure but nope, think waaaaay lower) The procedure: 20mins tops This was what blew me away. After dr.Tiger numbed my mouth with anesthesia and shot it with more local anesthesia, he took 15 mins to make sure that the entire area was utterly numb. It was. 5 mins of pushing and dentist stuff in my mouth later, I was being cleaned up and a cotton wad was being put in my mouth to finish off the procedure. I was confused because it was so quick. Omg. Most epic dentist ever. So after asking if I had anymore questions (lol suure, with cotton in my mouth. XD I'm glad I asked so many questions before hand) I got my prescription and a few pictures taken. The really funny and friendly staff made my day. Seriously, I don't think you can find so many people smiling in a dental office. Made me feel like I came to have a nice time with them and totally not to get mouth surgery. After: I drove to get my pills and was warned to take my Vicodin after I get home, not before driving. The bleeding stopped after an hour and a half and I slept with an ice pack pillow because it felt nice. Even with the Vicodin, I still felt soreness and could only eat soup with soft dumplings. Now it's been 5 days after the extraction and I'm feeling really good. Jaw is only a little sore, didn't need my painkillers after the 3rd day. There was no swelling at anytime and I went to school the next day pretty normal. After the 3rd day I ate pizza, chips, gummy bears, really anything and my teeth didn't hurt (still had to be bite sized though). Loving it! Thank you to Dr. tiger and his amazing staff! They even followed up with an email :) It should be noted that I really hate going to the dentist and I'm a huge wimp when it comes to pain. So the 3 days on painkillers might be an over-exaggeration for some people. read more

Even though she graduated from USC Dr. Jefferson had the best chairside manner. She made a root canal sound exciting, educated me on everything from proper electric brushing to setting healthy toddler brushing habits and even advised on how to finish off my Invisalign. I have a horrible phobia of the dentist and like to make that clear before I have any work done and unlike most dentists I've visited, every single person I spoke to in this office was extremely kind and understanding and really made me feel at ease. I had 4 fillings done within an hour and with little to no discomfort while having them done. The Good: I've been here a few times and I think now is a good time for a review. They are a clean well run office. They have the digital x-rays which are way better than the old school cardboard things that would destroy the inside of your mouth. I've only had cleanings here and they use the water pic thing, I kind of like the old school metal scrapping tools but this is way quicker, I just don't know how it compares to the other method. The Dr comes over and checks the x-rays and I'm out of there. They take all PPOs and that takes care of the bill, so far I haven't had to pay out of pocket, which is what I like. The Bad: Check the website and it's all Playboy models and MMA celebrities, but I haven't seen one yet. I think I'm part of the majority that pretty much dreads going to the dentist. Like seriously I feel sick to my stomach please don't make me go kind of feeling. At some point I started growing up and realized its up to me to finally get the guts to go back to the dentist. A coworker of mine recommended Smile Studio and guaranteed a great experience. So I scheduled an appointment and gave it a go. As I sat in the waiting room trembling in fear, Dr. Anthony walked his prior patient to the door and then turned around to back to his office. Before he did so, he took one look at me and put his hand my shoulder and said "How are you? Don't worry, we're going to take good care of you". It was the weirdest thing ever but I felt an immediate sense of calm and even confidence being there. Maybe it was his comment or maybe it was the plethora of models and celebrity pictures throughout his office trusting him as I was about to. Since then I've never been anywhere else not would I ever think of going anywhere else. I've come so far at to even calling THEM to let them know I want to schedule my next appointment. As a fellow health care provider, I have a tendency to be very particular about other doctors before recommending them. I am pleased to say that Dr. Anthony at Smile Studio is by far one of the best dentists in Southern California and I highly recommend him without reservation. Although he is not a pediatric dentist, my wife took our 4 year old son there after consulting with some of the top pediatric dentists in Orange County. Each dentist suggested roughly the same work but refused to see my son unless he was put under by an anesthesiologist. I was not comfortable with this so Dr. Anthony who came highly recommended by my own Celebrity clientele became our 4th opinion. Using just local anesthesia (not nitrous oxide) he was able to do all the work in roughly 1.5 hours and my son didn't even cry or show much discomfort. We were told by all the other pediatric dentists it would take at least 3 visits cost us over $5000 and none of it was covered by Delta Dental PPO insurance. After the procedure my son turned and said, "Now can I have my toy?" Dr. Anthony replied, "I should buy you a pony or a car because you were so good!" My son then high fived him. There is a reason why all the celebrities go to Smile Studio when they can afford any dentist or go anywhere in the U.S. There is a reason why all of my patients go to him for their dental work. There is a reason why I'm taking my time to write this review. There was still some cement left on the tooth and dr Jefferson was able to sand it down for me. Now it's smooth and makes my smile look more even. So for not going to the dentist for close to 2 years I thought to myself... it's probably time for a good cleaning. I researched through my company's website to see if I could get a good dentist that way. I got tired of looking through that so I yelped a dentist and found Dr Anthony's Smile Studio with 5 stars as their rating. I decided to give them a try and man I was in for a treat! I went in for a general check up and cleaning. I ended up getting the X-rays, cleaning, fillings re-done, and then got my 1 and only wisdom tooth pulled out by the talented Dr. Tiger! I was pretty hesitant at first considering I had work about 2 hours later but they reassured me that I would be safe. I went to work and about 7 hours later is when I started to feel a little throbbing where my wisdom tooth was but the vicodin took care of that. Overall, it's healing great and no issues! Dr. Tiger also said he'd give me $5 for every second more than 2 seconds it took to get that wisdom tooth out. He now owes me $140 for the other 28 seconds. I have such bad anxiety about going to the dentist, which is why I pushed off going for many years, but after going to smile studio, I feel so much more at ease and don't mind going anymore. Izzy works at the front and she is the sweetest girl ever, and her customer service is amazing. She even offered to watch my daughter while I had dental work done, if I was unable to find a sitter. Went for my first visit this past Tuesday. I may be biased because both of the dentist here are fellow Trojans, but I am definitely a fan of this office. Professional staff and Nemo (sp?) the office manager was so helpful! I will be back to get my widom teeth pulled in a couple of weeks so i'll update my review after that (yikes!). UPDATE (3/24): Got my wisdom teeth out yesterday. Wow! I am still in shock by how quick and painless it was. Dr. Tiger gave a local anesthetic and Dr. Anthony extracted my wisdom teeth. I love these guys! They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I haven't felt any pain, the swelling is minimal (only b/c I didn't put ice on like I was told). The actual extraction took 5 mins, at the most. And most importantly, my wallet is still in tact! Woohoo! My colleagues were banking on me being out recovering on Monday. I seriously could've gone back to work today if it was a work day for me. I can't wait to get to work on Monday and tell them. Fight on! read more

I was there yesterday for my 10am appointment for simple extraction. I have had quite a bit of experiences with dentist in the past and I was VERY IMPRESSED with this office! I showed up 5 minutes early to fill out my paperwork....from the time I arrived (9:55am) until the extraction was done and I left took ONLY 20 MINUTES!!! AWESOME!!! The staff there is super friendly and nice...A shout out to Nemo!!! (very cool guy)!! The place looks brand new and very modern! Dr. Tiger was great!.... very pleasant and went right to work...I felt 0% pain...nothing at all!!! And the price was amazingly low!!!.. I found a great dentist off the 405 fwy in Costa Mesa. Dr. Anthony is personable and I felt comfortable in his care. The environment is spa-like, nothing like your typical cold and sterile dental offices. There's a flat screen monitor in each station to watch a show or listen to music while you're waiting.
