Dr. Allen is awesome! I came into his office as a self-pay because I thought I had a contact stuck in my eye. He did a thorough examination, reassured me everything was fine and sent me home with some eye-drops since my eye was irritated. He has an amazing "bedside manner" and there was no doubt was in good hands. His bill was VERY reasonable for this visit. I had to come to this doctor because of an emergency. So one of my contacts broke in half in my eye. My optometrist of years wanted to charge me 15 to advice me over the phone, 120 for the consult, and 50 per piece if in fact I did have pieces of contact in my eye. So I decided to shop around for a new doctor and I am so glad I did. Since the moment you walk in the staff of beautiful latinas greet you like if the have known you all your life. The process is fast and simple to fill out forms. They check if you have insurance even if you don't have your card. They make you feel so comfortable. After the first time he prescribed medication for my scratch eye. He even recommended where to go to get the cheapest price for medication. 12.14.2021 I came back for an eye exam. Even better treatment. Have I mention they accept walk ins? 1.5.2022 I can back to pick up my contacts. Even better treatment. The ladies saw me walk in and asked about my recent trip, made me feel like if I wanted to stay and talk to then all day. I just needed a replacement pair of glasses. The office is inside an older building that isn't nice looking, but real estate is so expensive that I give them a pass on the looks of the building. So, after handing my insurance card and ID a receptionist, she asked, "Will this be single vision or bifocals?" I said, "single." To which she replied, "Are you sure because I'm looking at your birthdate." WTH?!! The only reason that rude heifer did not get told off was because there was a little kid in the waiting room :-/ Anyway, I looked at my choices of frames, which were OK, but decided to take my business to less rude people. read more

I've been to this office several times over the last three years and have always had a pleasant experience. Dr. Safir is very professional but friendly at the same time. My eyes seem to be progressively getting worse and I've always had a fear that at some point in time, I'm going to go blind. But, Dr. Safir reassured me that my vision wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was and took the time to thoroughly address my questions and concerns. He seems to have a genuine interest in his patients. When I first visited his office, I had difficulty finding a lens that not only helped my astigmatism but fit well. Often times, the lenses would make my eyes burn, feel tired or would get too dry and I was constantly having to readjust the lens. Dr. Safir was always very mindful of my remarks and took the time to find lenses that were not only functional but comfortable to wear. The office itself is a little dated but the quality of service and care is worth the visit. I've had some unpleasant encounters with disinterested health care professionals before, so it's really great to find someone that seems to care about his patients. And, he is straightforward and upfront about costs/fees and helped me get the most out of my insurance plan. read more

Having recently moved to Dallas, I've had to rely on recommendations from co-workers for a new lady doctor, dentist, and optometrist. I heard a bunch, but decided Yelp might be the best way to go. And it was in this case! The office building is not fancy, but that's the only "complaint" I have. Valerie was able to get me an appointment for the same day, and she remembered me when I arrived. That doesn't sound like a big deal, but it's apparently difficult to do for some businesses. Anyway, after I filled out my 1 page of paperwork, I was in the office with no wait. Dr. Safir came right in, was easy to talk to, and very thorough. I felt like he really listened to what I was telling him and he got me set up with new contacts for the year. They didn't have my prescription in stock, but I walked out of there wearing a pair, so as long as they come in within a month, I'm not worried. I also brought in 2 pair of glasses that were super crooked (because i wear them while laying down all the time). Valerie took all of 60 seconds to straighten them. :) Nothing fancy about this place, but that's just my style - down to earth, not corporate, really nice people. read more

So glad I listened to my fellow Yelpers on this one. I was nearly out of contacts but had an expired contact prescription so I needed an exam. I called to make an appointment and they got me in within 2 hours. I show up and there is a full house in the lobby- lots of walk-ins. Because I had an appointment, they took me back first. I really appreciated that. The doctor was super friendly and patient. He worked with me until I was completely happy with the feel of my new contacts. Twenty minutes and ten dollars later, I was leaving the doctor's office (unheard of!) This will definitely be my new go-to optometrist! If you're into glitz and glamour, this may not be the place for you. If you want a nice, talented doctor who won't overcharge you or waste your time, check this place out! read more

I have now been to see Dr. Safir twice in the past 2 years for routine check ups. They are fantastic about getting you in to be seen quickly and Dr. Safir is very pleasant and obviously knows what he is doing. They have (what seems to be) state of the art equipment and while I have gotten the 100% healthy both of my visits, they seem to be well equipped to handle all of your needs from contacts to an in house retail store for glasses. I visited Doctor Eyecare for the first time today for contact lense eye exam, and I must say that I was very impressed & satisfied with my visit. They scheduled me for the same day appointment, the wait was very minimal, and the staffs were friendly & professional. Can it get any better than that? I have been getting contacts for 15+ years and these procedures to check the health of my eye is getting pretty repetitive but it's always important to have someone ask you the questions that you might forget to ask. I went to an optometrist when I lived in another state and they found something​ HUGE that lead to me going to a Neuro-optometrist and found out something life-changing​. So I believe each visit with a doctor is just as important as the last. I felt great when I left because I didn't have any unanswered concerns. He understood what I told him and he gave me the best fitting contacts for my eyes with my astigmatism and comfort. I paid over $300 for designer glass frames here. They didn't even last a year, they broke around the frame edging. In order to get a replacement frame I had to pay 75 more dollars. They are selling inferior products. The frame brand is Morel - France. Buyer beware. They were courteous about selling inferior products, however whatever happened to quality? I just moved out here and relied on Yelp to find an optometrist. Doctor EyeCare was the top rated in my area, so I decided to give them a try. I was definitely let down. The place is very outdated, along with all of the exam room equipment. As for the exam, I've been wearing the same contacts with the same prescription for years without any issues. During my exam here, the doctor swore that my prescription was wrong and that I needed a new one. When I tried on the new contacts, one side was blurry. I explained the situation, but was told it was correct. I asked to have my original prescription renewed with the same power, and got a rude response back from him. He eventually provided me with my original prescription and told me I was going to have issues. I'll give them kudos that their frame turnaround was really quick, only taking about 4 days. I will not be going back here again next year for my exam. read more

He offered a lot of information about the specifics of my eyes' conditions and the reasons for particular symptoms. The staff was helpful and supportive. I felt very well treated throughout my visit. The staff in the store section did something I wish *everyone* did - they looked at my insurance and told me my options. Basically, they said, "With your insurance, anything in this section is completely covered, and anything in this other section will cost you xx$." This let me make my own decisions about how much I wanted to spend and what I would get. My new glasses arrived in a week. I love them and have gotten several compliments. I am extremely disappointed in the service I have received here for contacts. My vision has been messed up for weeks now. The front desk staff has neglected to call me for followup questions on more than one occasion and even gave me the wrong trial lenses once. I have expressed my concerns about the vision in my left eye for weeks now to the doctor. While the doctor is very nice and the frame selection is fantastic, I am going to go to another eye doctor from now on. I feel very strongly that the doctor is not listening to my feedback and frustrations with my vision. read more

I am so glad that I lucked up on this place. I needed to get some new glasses or at least an eye exam, so I discovered this place online and it just so happened to be near my house. When I went in, it was laid back. I mean I guess as laid back as a doctor's office can be. The ladies working the front desk were nice and helpful and Allen (B. Safir) the eye doctor was so nice. I didn't know the fabulous insurance I had been paying into via my job didn't include vision, he worked out a deal with me that was extremely helpful to my wallet. Truth be told the glasses I have look like they don't have a prescription at all but they looked so cute on me and as I mentioned the deal was so good- I bought them! Just had my first appointment at Doctor EyeCare and Dr. Safir. I was blown away by the kindness and attentive staff from the outset. When I was seen by Dr. Safir I was so very impressed by the thoroughness of his exam, his knowledge and the fact that after 25 years he was actually able to get me back into contact lenses. In full disclosure, I can't wear them when I drive at night but since EVERY other optometrist has always said "no" to any consideration, plus the fact that he improved my current prescription and HAD the contacts on site, I was truly blown away. Also got a new glasses prescription that was handled by Miss Valerie who was as sweet as they come, I will never go elsewhere.
