I'd give them no star if possible! I made an appt. to have my eyes checked and the assistant who answered the phone when I called to make the appointment DID NOT mention that an optomap retina & macula imaging exams were required. I found out that these exams were required on the day of my appt. so I couldn't cancel it without getting charged. The amount I ended up paying out of pocket was $59 dollars. I'll never go back to this business since their client services are very poor and unprofessional. Making patients aware that there's an out of pocket expense via text message ON THE DAY OF THE APPT. is NOT OK!! read more

This is my go to eye doctor now. The doctor and staff are great and I got advice that no other eye doctor has ever given me.

This was one of the worst/strangest experiences I've ever had looking for glasses. I walk in and they inform me they don't take walk ins and it's appointment only. No problem. I let them know I need new glasses, and ask if I can look at what they have available and if I find a pair I like, I'd make an appointment to get an eye exam and purchase the glasses. The lady reluctantly allows me to, but says she will come with me (the glasses display is already in eye sight of the front desk). So she walks over with me to the display, and I see a pair I want to try on, I pick it up and walk over to the mirror to see how I look. She is eyeing me down the whole time and even walks over to the mirror with me....i then look at a second pair and repeat, again she follows me to the second pair and then follows me to the mirror. The only reason I can think that she followed me around was that she thought I would steal (I'm a white male in my mid twenties so I can't imagine how they'd treat someone else). After trying on the second pair, I let her know that I'm going to leave because it's really weird to try on glasses with someone breathing down my neck. She laughed and said I could make an appointment, to which I said I won't be coming here and walked out. read more

My family and I have been going to Dr. Norton for almost 10 years. Her staff are timely, helpful and friendly. Dr. Norton is thorough, patient and kind. She has the newest technology to ensure your eyes are functioning optimally. And I love the plethora of glasses and sunglasses...so many to cool ones to choose from! Dr. Norton and her staff have always been very helpful and pleasant to me. While I no longer go to her due to moving Dr. Norton and her staff were helpful in getting me my history to provide to my new optometrist. It was always a joy to go to Dr. Norton's office. It's modern and clean. Parking is easy to do in the surrounding lot or underneath the building. The staff was knowledgeable about my insurance and their products. The exam and all it's parts were quick and easy with Dr. Norton spending a good amount of time with me as the patient doing the exam and explaining the results. Knowledgeable Doctor, advanced equipment, friendly staff, and a good selection of frames. Having said that; I went in for an eye exam on 9/12/2011 to replace my broken glasses. As it turns out because of my insurance Park Cities Eye could not fill the prescription themselves and it had to be sent off to my insurance company. I was told on the front end that this could take up to 8 weeks. On 10/21/2011 I called Park Cities Eye to check on the status because I had not received a call, text, email or smoke signal from them. As it turns out my glasses were delivered on 9/25/2011!! Almost a month had passed and not one effort had been made to communicate this to me. I do not fault Park Cities Eye for having to ship off the glasses, but I prefer to do business with people that take ownership of what they do. It takes 15 seconds to pick up a phone and call a patient to keep them informed. Park Cities Eye was not able to do this and therefore I would not recommend them. read more

The entire staff at Park Cities Eye Associates was both professional and extremely friendly. The experience was comfortable and educational, beginning with the pre-exam that was quickly done on state of the art equipment. I appreciated the detailed explanation of each test by the optometric assistant. Dr. Norton performed a comprehensive exam, including asking questions about my reading habits to capture the full picture and perform her assessment. She took the time to explain my current state and pointed out specific areas that she will continue to monitor. Finally, Dr. Norton informed me on the differences in eye drops and sunglasses, which will help sustain the health of my eyes. I needed reading glasses to assist with my day-to-day use of a computer screen. I have been seeing Dr. Norton for 15 years. She is extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and provides excellent care. It is rare to find a doctor who provides this quality of care. While at times correspondence with office staff may not be the kindest, I find that overall seeing Dr. Norton is worth it. I would highly recommend her to anyone. read more

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this eye doctor's office. Dr. Cathy Norton was fine, but her staff really brought this ranking down. I felt like such an inconvenience. During the visit, I asked them to shape my frames and tighten them back up. They first warned me that they are not responsible if they break them, then they molded them and they were too tight. Not abnormal to have to go back and forth to get the right fit, but when I asked for them to make them a little wider because I was worried I would get a headache they were very annoyed. Ultimately, they didn't re-mold them. She said well they will just stretch out again, so I'm sure they are fine. I ended up going to another office by my house and paying to get them molded again. Additionally, I asked for some trial contacts, which they gave and went over. But I had to pick a kind and pay for a one year supply that day or I wasn't eligible for a 20% discount. I felt like this was a bit much. They should at least give you a week or two to try them out before they yank the discount off the table. It has been about two weeks since my appointment, so I called to order contacts. I said I wanted to know how much a 90 lenses box would be and then I would decide based on what my insurance coverage was. The gal was extremely annoyed. She said well I am going to have to look up prices--I apologized, but then I realized I shouldn't have to. This is her job. After explaining that I felt like I was a burden to them, she said I am sorry you feel that way but I don't feel like we did anything. Then she said a box is $90+ per box (I don't remember the exact number), I said I didn't want to use them as I can get them online for $52/box. I just think this office is not customer service friendly. I will be moving offices and would not recommend this office. read more

Dr. Norton refused to release a current prescription that we needed for our records. While her staff tried to help us ultimately she refused. Fact is that she has no right to hold it. We will be letting everyone we know what happened. Disappointing and we will never come back to this practice. read more

Surpassed my expectations! I am not a patient of this office because it's too far from my home, but because it's very close to work I will definitely consider it for future appointments! I ran out of eye drops, reordered online, and then found out a week later I wasn't going to get them for 4 weeks!! I searched for an eye doctor's office nearby and Park Cities Eye Associates came up on Google. I called them on a whim to see if they carried the drops I needed and reached their answering service which informed me that I could text them at the same phone number! What? THAT'S AWESOME! I sent them a text and heard back from them immediately! Hopefully, this is the future because this is an awesome service to offer people! They gave me all the information I needed via text: if it was in stock, operating hours including when they closed for lunch, information on which tower to enter, and directions from the elevator. Their effort to make my trip as time-efficient as possible is beyond appreciated. Once I got to the office, the drops waiting for me at the front desk! The three women I interacted with were wonderful! Very caring, informative, and had an incredible willingness to help me. They managed to take my frustration and turn it into relief within 15 minutes! From the first text to putting the eye drops in was only 15 minutes!! That's just so crazy to me! I called for a first time visit as I thought they could check what I think is an eye infection. FYI- they won't see you if you have an eye issue only. They ask you to get a comprehensive eye exam first when there are no issues and then they will see you. They must do glasses only. read more

I am still dealing with this office regarding payment!!! I called to ensure they accepted my insurance just as it was laid out to me by my provider. They said they did. I had an exam in early July. They were nice when I came in. First thing, I am pressured into doing their Optopmap Retinal exam as opposed to dilation. That's $40 bucks. I do not like being upsold within the first 5 minutes, or at all really. Dr. Norton during the visit said she would order me several different trial contacts to try out. However, her staff tried to get me to pay hundreds of dollars for a year supply before even knowing which contact brand I would end up needing. I was told after my visit that my insurance didn't cover my fitting fee (contacts) but my contact allowance could be applied to that. Great! Do it. I came back for a follow up appointment 4 weeks later and found out I owe a balance. What?!? Apparently, a fitting fee cannot be covered by the contact allowance. However, my insurance says something totally different. I was charged another $60 dollars for my follow up visit. Wait, I called and asked if this follow up visit was included in my initial copay and was told YES. Apparently, if you have any issue with your eye, that is then a medical visit and you'll be charged $60 bucks. I may have had an issue with my eye but the reason I came initially was for a prescription not my itchy eyes. I am still trying to hash this thing out and have yet to get an actual prescription. Each member of their staff, 3 in total, all tell me something different. No one seems to be on the same page which is extremely frustrating for a patient that makes the effort and calls in advance to ask questions. Dr. Norton is very knowledgeable but could improve on her "bedside" manner. They do have cute glasses but they are pricey so if you don't have insurance coverage, I wouldn't recommend buying there. I will not return to Park Cities next year when an exam is needed. And, I'd encourage anyone considering them to be sure to call before stepping a foot into their office to ensure there aren't any pop up charges along the way. Then type up what they tell you and ask for a signature...in blood! Absolutely ridiculous!!! read more

Dr. Norton came up as a provider on my eye insurance, and based of proximity, I chose her. Multiple things happened during my visit that were disappointing to me--They said they had to dilate my eyes or I could pay $39 for her to look at the imaging of a fancy new camera that could show my corneas or whatever and of course I chose dilate, but then she said it would be 45 minutes to dilate or I'd have to come back and get it done and as I had plans after, I chose to simply pay the $39 to get it over with. Then I realized she's an optometrist, not an ophthalmologist, and therefore didn't really have a good reason for needing to dilate my eyes. I have seen an optometrist the past few years that I have paid for out of pocket and it has been so simple for me to get in, get my prescription, and leave, for $100 (Dr. Rodney Schpok on Mockingbird, who I will be going back to and will pay for out of pocket instead of using insurance). Then, she gave me an incorrect prescription. She said I didn't need as high a power of contacts, but as it's been a week since my appointment and I have struggled with distance vision, I'm going back to my original prescription and not using what she had. Finally, I didn't even get my contacts prescription when I left (which is fine for me because I'm not using that prescription), but it's stupid that they want you to buy contacts from them so they're holding your prescription hostage. Took 2 months for me to get my glasses. Hard to speak to a live person due to automated phone system. Did not give me an explanation as to why it took so long. Will not go there again...even Wal-mart will get you your glasses within 1 week. read more
