In a saturated market, Envy Eye Care decided it was the right thing to do and call a potential new patient/client at 8:14 AM on a Saturday; leave a voicemail; and within 2 minutes send a text threatening to cancel the appointment if left unconfirmed. The appointment was booked the night prior. Trash service early on and I haven't stepped foot in the practice yet. This establishment does not deserve your business. Extremely disappointed and feel completely scammed. Was told one price over the phone and that it would be run through my health insurance because it was a medical issue with one eye. Paid $200 for my visit and eye treatment they sold in-office (for an issue I didn't even have symptoms for, but had to take her word for it) plus a Rx for drops that were another $50. All interactions the first visit were with the Dr., there was no one else in office. She wouldn't confirm whether it was a Rx issue with my brand new contacts that might be the culprit for my single eye blurriness, wanted me to use eye drops for a week and come back. Then I find out at my "follow up" today that they didn't run my initial appt through my insurance - they apparently would have charged me an extra $50 to do so - and, by the way, I had to pay another $100 today just for walking in the door to confirm my eye drops from a week ago "worked". I'm unaware of ANY kind of Dr actually charging a patient for a whole full price second visit when they call it a "follow up" to ensure medication isn't reacting poorly. They were running 30 min behind schedule today and what looked like a teenager did my initial follow up work- who discovered the Dr. hadn't taken down (or asked for) ANY medical history in the first appt, including family history or medications I'm taking. Important info especially when presenting with single eye vision loss/blurriness. (Everything was miraculously totally fine with my eyes today btw, but if I wanted my vision Rx evaluated further it would be an additional $200+ exam on top of the $300 I've already paid). So $300 in and I didn't even get an actual answer to my presenting issue, when I pressed I was finally told "it's probably just eye fatigue and eye dryness at the end of the day." $100 for that follow up. Wow. Extremely poor communication, very unclear pricing methods and questionable billing practices. They told me if I wanted to run my insurance it would be an extra $50 for each appointment. Unreal. Still no real answers - and my pockets are $350 lighter. read more

I started seeing Dr. Tran when their office was at North Park Mall next to Lens Crafters and have followed her here at Oak Lawn. Again, I don't trust my eye exams to just anyone. They have the latest technology in eye examination equipment and the staff are always friendly and great! Dr. Tran will go over every aspect of your exam and will answer any questions you may have. Everyone at this office from the front desk staff to Dr. Tran are so knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. I left with all of my questions answered and a thorough understanding of my situation/next steps. It can be so daunting stepping into that phase of life as a young adult trying to navigate the world of doctors appointments, insurance, and everything else that comes with it. They were so transparent and communicative about everything. Pretty disappointed in the customer service I was shown here. I get my eyes checked once a year and this is the second time I would be coming to this location. They have a policy that they charge you a fee if you reschedule less than 24 hours. I called 18 hours before my appointment asking to be rescheduled later in the day as I was just made aware of a family matter, and was met with odd hostility and no understanding for the circumstance. Seems like this place has bad integrity and no care for the customers, just trying to make a quick buck at any cost. Beware. read more

The front desk staff is unbelievably kind and went above and beyond to help me find the right pair of contacts, they let me try 3 different kinds because after lasik my eyes are more dry/flat, the front staff especially Andrew was very helpful in the process. I was fortunate enough to meet with Dr. Tran today at Envy Eye Care. What a fantastic experience it was too. I came to Yelp to find an eye care specialist and found Envy Eye Care with its 5 stars. The only one in my area with that rating. I took the time to read the reviews here on yelp. Having a good feeling about the Dr. and her team, I scheduled an appointment. My first eye exam was at Key Whitman...NOT a good experience. It was so disappointing that I didn't want to go to another eye doctor again until now, 3 years later. Thank goodness for Yelp and the reviews others took the time to write about Envy Eye Care and Dr. Tran. All well deserved, and I have already recommended her and her team to two other friends. She was very thorough, using the latest equipment and imaging to discover, and explain to me, the state of my eyes. So, so knowledgeable! It was super interesting! (She even could tell that I had been born prematurely by looking at the veins in my eyeball!) She was also gentle and respectful, I felt like she was treating me like she'd treat a favorite aunt. She gave me some great recommendations for new glasses, and even how to care for them, so that the coating wouldn't peel (like my present pair).
