Johnny and his guys came out on an emergency call on a Saturday morning - we'd had a TON of rain and our outdoor drainage/downspouts were all messed up/backed up, seeping into the ground and leaking into our basement! We weren't sure what to do, but he came out fast, located the problems quickly, showed us everything that was wrong and how to fix it - he was an angel! Very knowledgable, took the time to explain everything, wasn't pushy about work at all. He gave us an immediate, but temporary fix since we're supposed to get more rain, and said he's be back Monday for a permanent fix. John Petro and his crew removed two old fences (one of which consisted of railroad ties buried on end) and erected a new fence and 3 gates at our home. They also cut down a tree and removed a couple of stumps. Two of his crew, Fred and Jack, did the majority of the carpentry work. Fred is an excellent carpenter. He is conscientious, friendly and takes pride in his work. The cost of the job was reasonable and in line with other estimates that we obtained. One thing I especially liked about their fence construction is that they "stick build", meaning they nail each picket on individually instead of erecting prefab panels. This allows them to follow the contour of the ground more closely. read more

We were very pleased with the owner John Petro and his professional team. Dr. Tree and team felled five very large dead ash trees (and trimmed one very large oak tree branch over the garage. All were close to either the house or our shed; all were very tough to remove for one reason or another (very brittle, leaning opposite direction from desired fall direction, poor access, some climbing required).They were on time, efficient, pleasant to work with, safety conscious, very competent and did the job exactly as agreed ... and all at a terrific price! I am generally a tough grader believing that '5 stars ought to mean something ... and that quite a few companies are just average (3 stars - not really bad - just not standing out).
