We were surprised and disappointed when their crew climbed several beautiful trees near the house with spiked shoes to prune high branches. Didn't realize this until later and when we mentioned to Roger, was told it's fine. However we called 4 other local tree companies after noticing; they all use either a bucket truck or ropes for pruning. Online, everyone says to not use spikes unless the tree will be removed. This completely deflated us, sad beyond belief, even though the rest of the large project was great. I am providing 4 stars for the rest of the job, brought in 5-6 guys to finish a large job in one day. Ask in advance about the spikes if you care about your trees before committing. We look outside our windows and see trees with holes, concerned for their future health. read more

Terrible service. We hired this company to remove gravel from a portion of our driveway that went in back of our house and then replace it with grass. They removed about half of the gravel and then covered it with straw. We could see the gravel through the straw and had them come back out to correct the issue. They came out three times and we still have a gravel driveway in our backyard with patches of grass. I strongly recommend staying far away from this company! read more

We had a lot of work that needed done in our yard. Roger and the team did a great job burying our downspouts and putting in steps as well as a retaining wall to improve our yard and decrease the erosion. We hired Rogers to replace two 3-story 25-year-old pine trees that were close to the end of their lives and were struggling, to remove an overgrown (mulberry?) bush that had grown into a small tree and was slowly but surely pushing over a fence in the back yard, and to trim our trees in the front and back of the house. The price was fair, maybe even a bit lower than I'd expected, and we set a date for the work to be done. He and his crew showed up and did the work, and what they did was excellent with one exception that I'll get to below. The quality of the tree trimming was very good and was done according to my instructions, which was basically "trim them back but don't overdo it." The quality of their work on this was 5 stars. The price of the job included grinding the stump left by the mulberry bush in back. He said he didn't have the tool he needed for that job but he'd come back next week and do it. With that promise, we paid him in full. After he left, I noticed that we'd all overlooked a Japanese maple in front--it'd been part of the plan but they hadn't trimmed it and I hadn't noticed--and I saw that one of the 6- or 8-foot spruces they'd planted where the 25-year-old pines had been was crooked (see pic below). Not, like, 45-degree-crooked, but crooked enough that it's gonna look weirder and weirder as the tree gets taller if it doesn't straighten out. The other spruce was fine. I called Roger and left a voicemail message asking if the crooked spruce would straighten naturally or if needed to be straightened now. I asked him to look at it when he came back to grind the stump and let me know. I also said they'd overlooked the Japanese maple, but so had I, and if it wasn't too much trouble then I'd like them to trim it during the stump-grinding visit, but if it was, then it wasn't a big deal and could wait till the next trimming in a few years. I've not heard from Roger since he left with our check. My wife and I each left 5-6 voicemail messages briefly describing the crooked-tree problem and asking him to call us, and about the same number of texts simply asking him to call us. Roger's not responded to any of them. My rating on his follow-up and integrity to finish the job after he's been paid is 0 stars. If you're willing to hire someone who has a history of ghosting customers after they've been paid, then I'd advise you to inspect the job carefully before paying him to be sure everything is done to your satisfaction, and not paying in full until it is. A promise from Roger to return to fix something is not necessarily credible. It's been 3 months since the work was done, so it's unlikely that he'll ever correct the situation but if he does, then I'll update this review with that new information. If I don't update the review, then you can assume it was never fixed. read more

I have the utmost respect for Roger and the way he conducts business. From the moment he came out and gave us an estimate on our landscaping until it was completely finalized he was nothing but professional, courteous, and had incredible attention to detail. We had a fairly large landscaping project that had a lot of different components and required a lot of coordinating as we went. Roger is an excellent landscaper, but above and beyond that his true gift seems to be project management. His company completely redesigned our front and backyard, coordinated two large concrete slabs, several new trees and plants, pavers, and a large fire pit, among many other things. The finished product was way above and beyond what I imagined, and again - it was completely due to Roger's attention to detail. Set up an appointment and received a text saying his truck had broke down and could we change the time, so I asked him if 10:00 the next morning would be fine. Have not heard a word from him. Sent multiple texts and left a message on his office phone. The least he could do was get in touch with me and say he was not interested in the project. Poor, poor customer consideration. read more

Roger showed up a day early for the estimate. He was very professional and his estimate what's fair and he removed some shrubs and did a great job. Rodger gave me an estimate on removing two trees and I have tried to call and left messages and text him and he does not respond. I find that to be very unprofessional and even if he has changed his mind and doesn't want to do the job as a professional oh, he should respond and let me know. Along with the removal of the two trees he was supposed to bring some topsoil for flower beds. I had to hire someone else because it was getting too late in the season to plant my flowers. read more

Lightning struck one of our trees and a large limb was split and hanging down. I contacted nearly a dozen companies & either they wouldn't show up for the quote, ignored me completely or didn't show up for the job once hired. Do not use this business!! Although the signed quote specifically addressed we were keeping the wood, they were in the process of loading it on their trailers when I intervened. They unloaded the main trunks and Roger promised he would give us the wood from their next job. He said we would have that wood within 3-5 days. It has been over two weeks. I got in touch with him to cut and haul a pine that had fallen over and grind the stump as well, and he sent someone who did a good job cutting it and hauling it, but never removed the stump.
