Profoundly disappointing experience with Treeo. We have a large limb with branches impacting the top of my porch. Requested an estimate from Treeo, who provided a large estimate for multiple portions of a tree. Estimate was vague, so I requested an arborist to come out and actually speak to me so I could get a better idea of what the estimate entailed. Arborist provided multiple estimates, and I went forward with the one that entailed specifically deadwood above the tree and the house. Estimate was written in an unclear and confusing manner, and I had understood this to mean both based on wording and conversation with the arborist that this included the problem branches. Which I admit is my mistake - I should have taken that as a sign and gone with a comparably priced competitor who had written a clearer, more honestly formatted estimate. I see from other reviews that i am not the only one misled by the difference between what their arborist and I discussed and what they decided their job was when they wrote the estimate. Treeo then spent two months putting off my trim job. When they finally arrived, they did minimal work ) and proceeded to yell at me on the phone when I was concerned with the quality of their craftsmanship and their estimate. Arborist accused *me* of wasting *his* time for having asked him to write an estimate with me present at the house earlier on, so he could answer questions. Truly the most bafflingly unprofessional customer service experience I've ever had in my life. Had I known I was such a bother to them during our initial conversation I'd have simply gone elsewhere, but I guess at that point they were still trying to put on a good face to take my money for 20 minutes of work that left my trees actually looking worse than before. The irony is, if he'd simply advised X amount to complete the job as I'd understood it, I'd have probably given him the benefit of the doubt said 'yes.' He cost his own company further business. At no point did I threaten not to pay for the work - they simply don't stand up for their crew's workmanship and yelled instead, which indicates the company has likely had issues before and have found being rude to be the easiest way for them to deal with customers frustrated with their poor service. This is not a company with competent, clear, or helpful customer service. After months of delays in communication, to have someone so high up in the company act in such a deeply unserious and unprofessional manner was truly upsetting. There are many other tree companies in the area and I implore anyone looking for their work done to go to save themselves the trouble and find someone else. read more

When I wrote my original review for Treeo, a 2-star review largely based upon customer service concerns and agreed upon work that had yet to have been completed, I promised that should the work actually end up being completed I would update my review based upon the entire experience. So, here we are. As you may recall, approximately two months ago my yard experienced fairly significant tree issues following a severe windstorm here in Indy. After getting multiple estimates, I decided to use Treeo based upon a referral from a friend who'd referred quite a bit of business to them with generally positive results and based upon an estimate. As I was not at home when the arborist visited for the estimate, I knew to expect they would price things beyond that which I'd requested (as happened with all my estimates). While I'd been told to expect they'd likely underbid everyone, of the five specific things they priced two were actually significantly higher than other estimates while three were in the ballpark or lower. I opted for the three - I was told they were scheduling out 2-2 1/2 weeks and would contact me to schedule. Just after 2 1/2 weeks, I contacted Emily by e-mail (my original contact) and inquired. They initially wanted to schedule for 5/14, but my work schedule didn't allow for it. We agreed on 5/17. On 5/16, Indy had another severe storm with trees toppled around town. Late that night, I received a text asking me if I would be willing to postpone and to text back "Yes" if I was willing. As I'd already waited a month, had trees precariously on my roof (though not severely), and had already paid my lawn guy 2x to mow a lawn he couldn't get to, I declined to postpone. The next morning, I took my scheduled day off work. At 9:30am, I messaged and at 10:30 received a call back letting me know I had been cancelled. In my world, this is a "no call, no show." While Treeo felt very justified in doing this because other homes were more severe, I was a paying customer with my own storm damage and actually on the calendar. While my damage certainly wasn't life-threatening, it was damage and being in a wheelchair it was beyond what I could do. If they'd been doing humanitarian work, I get it. But, essentially I was dumped for better paying jobs. I was not offered any compensation for my troubles - a preferred appointment, a discount, any type of extra work. I was essentially told "Deal with it." (not in those exact words, of course). The person on the phone was apologetic, but apologetic didn't solve my problems. I stated I would consider giving my business elsewhere, but we agreed for me to stay on the schedule. Within a few days, the friend who'd referred me asked for an update and subsequently called Treeo to express his concerns. I was told on Thursday (6 days after my cancellation) that I should expect a call. I received the call the following Monday - so, basically, I was cancelled and not contacted back for another 1 1/2 weeks. This time, they again scheduled on Friday. I took a half day off work, though I was told I didn't really have to be at home. Given the challenges I'd had, it felt necessary. On Thursday evening, Nick came by to check out the situation and we discussed things a bit. On Friday, they arrived around the time expected - Nick had let me know the job before me might run a bit late. The crew arrived around 2pm and was done shortly before 5pm. I had thought the broken tree was being removed, though in reviewing the estimate it's vaguely written and I'll accept that it wasn't (though logic would dictate taking out a broken tree). Generally, the work is nicely done. I waited a couple days to write this review, because I didn't want my initial experience to taint the review. I thought, perhaps, there was a bit too much sitting around/smoking. I mean, it was only a 2-3 hour job. However, they were friendly and did for the most part clean up. I got a little concerned when it was announced they were cleaning up and leaving and a huge pile of brush/branches was still sitting in the yard from where friends had come over to help after the first cancellation. Fortunately, these did get removed. There were little things - like some branches, etc. still on the roof and in the gutters. I've decided to up the rating to a 3-star. The work is done and the price is for the most part fair. While the lack of communication over cancellation and the lack of any sort of consideration due to that bothers me, I can ultimately let it go. I'm still bothered by a cancellation - if you can't handle the business, you shouldn't take it. My concerns could have been addressed positively with basic customer service - it fell woefully short. They clearly can schedule within 24 hours if they consider it a priority (as proven during the storm), but my work took nearly 2 months. Ultimately, while the work is done I will not use them again. read more

Very responsive, answering all of our questions and scheduling in a timely manner. Very easy to submit photos online. An arborist came out first to assess our tree and make recommendations. They came as scheduled and the crew got our tree down very efficiently. Made the process very easy on us from start to finish! read more

We have used Treeo a couple times in the last couple months. First time was to get rid of some dead out of a few maple trees and trim another back from the house roof. Second time was to trim dead out of a large redbud and take it up off the ground. And trim up a couple smaller red buds to make easier to mow around. Both times they have done an excellent job. They cut the usable wood so we can use it in our fireplace and cleaned up super well. Our neighbor knows someone in the company and he has had work done by them. We saw that they did a great job there so thats why we called. They were also very reasonable on their estimates. read more

The SHarP community garden is very pleased with the work that Treeo did to deal with storm-damaged trees on our property line. Very large limbs, broken from the trunk and dangling dangerously, were brought down very skillfully by the crew leader. Clean up was excellent. In recognition of the threat posed to small children and members of the public who cross the lot, we were moved to a higher priority on the list and so appreciate this thoughtful gesture. read more

After seeing the good work on the neighbor's trees, we invited Treeo to bid on cutting dead wood out of our huge white oak and trimming dead wood and overhanging branches on our 4 other trees. Their price came in well under that of the company we had been using. I was impressed with the thoroughness that they took in assessing what needed to be done. They really listened and understood our concerns. Today their 4-man crew came out and it was really something to see how well organized and skilled they were. They were all very amiable and cut as much of the wood as I wanted to fireplace length. (We'll have to split the big pieces) I was also really impressed with how well they cleaned up the debris from the yard. I highly recommend giving Treeo a chance when you need work done on your trees. read more

I once had a very tall, quite beautiful tree in my front yard. She lived her entire life, of fifty or sixty years, just steps from my front door. I've only lived here a few years, but loved having her so close because she was beautiful and always took her job of covering the house in shade so seriously. Sadly though, the day came when her time was nearing the end, and she was ready to go to the great forest beyond. I could have let her die in her own time, but that may have meant having her fall on my house and insisting I go with her. I don't have a clue what type of outfit to wear on a trip like that though, so I decided to help her along and called the guys from Treeo. I'm so glad I found Treeo! The guys were gentle with the old gal, yet worked quickly. It made me nervous at first since she was such a big gal, and quite close to the house, other trees, and plants. I was afraid she might come crashing through my window to tell me goodbye. Absolutely nothing came crashing down on my house though, and none of my other trees were harmed in the process! The crew even made sure not to trample a Charlie Brown like plant mere feet from the large tree they took out. And when they were done, they cleaned up so well that the yard looked better than when they got here. I'm going to miss my old tree, but I know she was in good hands with the tree guys from Treeo. I'd have the Treeo guys over more often, but none of my other trees are ready to go yet. If that time comes though, I'll give Treeo a call. I've called twice to get some limbs trimmed. Both times they sent someone and gave me a quote. Agreed with the quote. Told me I'm on the schedule for a certain month. Don't show up or call when that month rolls around. read more

I had a pretty complex project involving several other vendors (fencing, grading, etc) so I needed the service done on a specific date for everything else to fall in line. They were super accommodating, helpful, and everyone that came out was professional and nice. The day of the tree cutting went quickly (has several trees taken down and also some pruned) then had stumps grinded a different day. All looks great and you can't even tell a tree was there. I had 3 quotes done before choosing TreeO. They beat all the competitors pricing pretty significantly. All in all a really great experience and I would recommend them to my friends and family. We had a rather large walnut tree come down over the Fourth of July weekend. I called for an estimate, and the customer service representative said it would be a week since they were pretty busy, but the arborist would email us a quote. We waited 2 weeks, no quote. Checked my SPAM, no quote. I called the office two more times since, and left messages, no response. We ended up just buying a chainsaw and cutting it down ourselves. Can't speak to the actual service, but their customer service and follow through is very lacking. read more

Finally she set up a meeting day (no am or pm time frame available just "anytime" on the designated day. I was able to request a call immediately before the estimator planned to arrive. Appointment day came and went without visit or call. Now three days later no call or visit. Very poor organization...can not recommend. read more

Could never even get a quote from them. Filled out their web form for a free estimate, didn't hear anything. Eventually they reached out, our message from the web form was in their spam folder, could they still provide a quote, we said sure! An arborist was supposed to come out, but almost two weeks later nothing. Contacted them again, and arborist was out that day, and said we would have a quote that evening. Three days later, still no quote. We give up. We tried, but they just don't want our money. Don't waste your time with these guys. read more

A strong Saturday afternoon rain/windstorm blew a tree down in our yard and it fell, crushing one of our parked cars. The insurance co. said to get the tree off ASAP, so on a Saturday night we were calling around to find someone who could come out on Sunday. Michael at Treeo was actually IN HIS OFFICE around 9pm and was out at our house by 10pm, inspected it and left a truck. He arrived with his crew and another truck promptly at 9am Sunday and removed and cut up the tree by 11am. Perfect cleanup of all wood and bits, and he even left some for us to process into firewood, cut into easily handled pieces. Everyone was nice, friendly (his wife even came out with their dog!) and perfectly professional. He didn't even make us pay right there; he said he'd send a bill after we talked to the insurance company about what our coverage would be. Highly, highly recommended! read more

I was visiting a friend in Indy last week, when one of her large pine trees came down across her neighbor's driveway from the strong wind gusts that came through. She wasn't having much luck finding a tree company to help her out, so I called these guys after seeing them on Yelp. Michael was at the house within 20 minutes and provided excellent service. The tree was cut up and hauled off within an hour or two. It was like it had never even been there! read more

Our turnaround was very quick for the height of the busy fall season; customer service was excellent; pricing very fair; and the work was prompt (ahead of schedule even), professional, and efficient (especially clean up!) We were long time customers of Treeo in our previous home. In the fall of 2015 requested work estimate. Required a month of waiting and 3 phone calls. Loyal customers so we extended grace. Finally came out in December. Paid in full for dead tree removal and shaping of 2 trees. Only tops were removed due to no foliage and said they would come back in spring to shape. The stump removal finally was completed in April and shaping was never done. When the stumps were removed they cut invisible fence. Came back out and told us if we got a dog they would pay to fix fence and the trees didn't need to be shaped. In addition, we requested estimates on two small trees and we were quoted $250 each tree. Three years earlier at our previous home similar trees they had trimmed for years were $100. My guess is they have a new owner or they are so busy they don't want more business. read more

I would suggest that you look elsewhere if you are looking to have a bit of tree work done. Keep in mind from some of the reviews that they are speaking of cutting up A (ONE) tree. We have several acres and usually have a handful of trees trimmed or removed each visit. We gave Tree-o a try this summer and had nothing but issues! Like 2 appts missed and 3 times of showing up without notifying us ( so no one at home) AND, the best part, sending us a bill for $4,000 (yes, you read that correctly) OVER the cost of the work. They had not reviewed their bill and did not realize that they had double charged us for a few of the trees and then charged us 3x the quote for one of the trees. read more
