The part of my foot that the doctor said was just fine was actually broken two spots in my toe
    Treasa Guptill

I went to Dr's Medical Center after falling my foot. My toe is in so much pain. They did an x-ray said I was fine. Five weeks later. My toe still looks the same. I go to a specialist and my toe is broken in two places how many people are dying from going to this place is my question if you can't even see a broken toe an x-ray what can you see in an x-ray? $51,000 later and misdiagnosed.

I came here earlier this year for a procedure and this was my experience. --TLDR: This is a good hospital but they could improve in a few areas. -- The security guards were personable and helpful each time I came and I felt secure in the fact that people were being vetted before coming in. On the day of my procedure I had my husband drop me off and wait outside because I assumed he would not be able to come in with me. I soon realized I was the only person in the waiting room not accompanied by a loved one. I sent him a message lamenting my mistake and to my delight he soon appeared in the waiting room and surprised me. He was able to be with me before and after my surgery and I really loved that; it made me feel more at ease. I really liked the nurse who got me ready. I think her name was Hilda. She was pleasant and upbeat and helped me get ready. My doctor also came to check in on me and answered a last minute question I had. I was feeling optimistic until the anesthesiologist came in. I do not remember her name but she was a small Asian woman with a terrible bedside manor. She told me she was going to be my anesthesiologist and asked me if I knew I would be put out for the procedure. I said yes and she left immediately. She spent about 30 seconds with me. Then when I was brought into the operating room, I saw a weird shaped pillow and a large tube on the bed they were transferring me to. I looked fearfully at the orderly and asked what that was for. He said "Didn't your anesthesiologist tell you you would be intubated?" I replied no and was immediately panicked. He said "uhhhhh" and looked around but continued transferring me to the bed and someone immediately put and oxygen mask on my face. I don't remember anything else until I woke up for obvious reasons. Although the last moments I remember were frightening, waking up from anesthesia was the worst part for me personally. I was in a lot of pain and groggy but I saw there was a nurse right with me and she seemed to be assigned to me because she stayed next to me for most of the time. The pain was terrible, especially from the intubation, but the fogginess from the medication was just as difficult for me. I saw that I was in a room with others waking up and I heard some crying and moaning. I was told that they would call my husband and tell him I was out of surgery and waking up. I remember hearing the nurse make the call. Soon after, I passed out. When I woke up again I was just as groggy as before, but the pain wasn't any better. I winced and must have made some noise because the nurse said she was going to give me more medication. I was out again before I knew it. This happened multiple times. Finally, I asked them to stop giving me pain medication. The nurse asked me why and I tried to explain that although I was in pain, the medicine was just putting me to sleep, not helping with the pain at all and I wanted to wake up and have a clear head. She told me to "stop fighting it" and still gave me more medication. I can't remember everything that was said but the next time I woke up, I know I told her and another nurse that was with me to stop giving me medication and that I wanted to leave. A third woman came to my bedside and seemed to be filling out a form and they finally stopped the medication and took me to the post-op room. My husband said it had been over 3 hours since they called him! Why they force medication on people like that, I have no idea. I cannot believe they didn't feel the need to tell me they were going to jam a huge tube down my throat or that they were going to drug me repeatedly until I magically woke up with no pain. I mean, in my case that could have taken days. The anesthesiologists and post-op nurses definitely need training on how to communicate better with their patients. I honestly feel a bit traumatized by how they handle the dispensation of pain medication here but since they seem to respond to most of their reviews, I genuinely hope they read this and make some changes or at least have a discussion to try and improve this situation. Anesthesiologists should explain to patients that they will be intubated and describe what that entails. They should also advise that it will cause pain, swelling and difficulty eating and swallowing for multiple days following the procedure. Post-op nurses should explain to patients that they are giving them pain medications that may cause them to pass out and why they are doing it. They should assess each patient individually by talking to them directly and not by guessing about their pain or what they want. Also, they should never give more pain medication to a patients who is specifically telling them not to. Overall, I'm feeling better and the majority of the process was handled well. I haven't had a procedure in a hospital for over 25 years so I would return to this hospital, but knowing what I know now, I would insist on discussing all pain management in depth ahead of time.

I want to start by saying I hardly do any reviews. This review is for the L&D department When my daughter told me she was having her baby here I panicked I've heard and read very negative reviews and stories about this hospital. We came in here expecting the worst experience on May 14 at 530 pm for my daughter's induction. And let me say this we left this hospital with very positive experience. Can't thank the nurses enough for taking great care of my daughter and granddaughter during and after labor. A special thank you to Cecyil and I can't remember the other nurse name she was in charge of the OR that night they were amazing, kind and caring!

I want to begin by saying that the medical teams who treated my injury were exceptional--ER staff, the surgeon, anesthesiologist, surgical team, and floor nurses all provided excellent care and bedside manner. Unfortunately, the case management and administrative follow‑up were the opposite: disorganized, dismissive, and lacking compassion. After the case manager's third visit, I requested reassignment because of repeated issues. During her first visit--less than a day after surgery and my first PT session--she abruptly announced she was ordering equipment. I had already discussed choosing a wheelchair with PT (insurance covers only one item), but when I tried to explain this, she cut me off and repeated, "Insurance will only cover one." When I attempted to tell her about the steps at my home and the need for a ramp, she again interrupted and said, "Insurance won't cover that, you're on your own," offering no resources or guidance. Later, while I was on the phone trying to locate a ramp myself, she stood in my room sighing and rolling her eyes. She then told me I had been discharged--even though my nurse had just started an IV for low vitamin levels, I still had two doses left, the equipment she ordered hadn't arrived, and I still had no safe way to enter my home. When she asked if I had walked yet, I reminded her I was non‑weight‑bearing for at least two months. She then asked if I had Medicare, which I do not--another sign she hadn't reviewed my chart. I told her directly that her approach felt rude, rushed, and unsafe, and asked for a different case manager. Hours later, I learned the pharmacy couldn't fill my medication because it required prior authorization. When I called the operator asking for a patient advocate, I was transferred to a non‑working extension. After calling back and explaining the urgency, I was sent to the second case manager. She cut me off immediately, said she had "just received the information," and submitted the authorization but refused to follow up to ensure it went through. When I mentioned that home health also lacked prior authorization, she admitted it hadn't been done yet. She did not address my concerns about the first case manager and abruptly ended the call. In the days since, I have repeatedly tried to reach a patient advocate. Neither the hospital operator nor the main Sutter line could provide a working number. When the operator attempted to transfer me to her manager, the call went to voicemail and disconnected mid‑message. The medical teams make Sutter look excellent, but case management and administrative systems make patients feel abandoned. These failures matter--especially when patients are in pain, scared, and relying on the hospital to ensure safe discharge planning. When healthcare systems make it this difficult to advocate for ourselves, it discourages people from seeking care at all. Sutter needs to do better. Kaiser, in my experience, is far ahead in efficiency and patient support. As one example, I was told it would take five months to see an endocrinologist for a serious genetic condition--whereas with Kaiser, specialist appointments took only a few days.

Firstly, the nurses are so sweet, so attentive, and made me feel so welcomed. I'm saying this from someone who did unfortunately have a traumatic c section experience (not the doctors fault, just circumstances). Although all the nurses were amazing I would like to recognize two amazing nurses who really made me feel seen and advocated for me, Nurse Jackie and Nurse Tabitha ( I hope that's how I spell their names). I will definitely always remember them and we're definitely the highlight of my experience. I'd hopefully like to nominate them for a daisy award. I'd also like to give a shout out to how clean the facility felt even the bathrooms.. I didn't have that same experience with my last delivery at another location .The food was decent, I wasn't really hungry during my visit but according to my vistors who did try the food they said it was pretty good.
