Now I know there was a critical patient that was brought in by ambulance and I heard the commotion from that about 20 minutes after me getting set up with my stuff. It seemed like every person in the ER was dedicated to that one patient. I'm sorry for that family and know it had to be bad. But after 2 hrs of thinking I'm having a heart attack and no one is treating that I about lost my mind. After all was said and done, all I wanted to do was leave. Finally after 4 and a half hours I did that. Still running high on my pressure but when release I looked at paperwork. Nothing was said about why I came in but I had a temperature of 102. I did not! And no, it's not because she had any procedures pending. I called to speak to her care team, which they failed to speak to me or call me back and admitted to throwing my number away. I have her medical power of attorney, which they have on file. She had been in patient for seven days, and had yet to have any bathing services and had not had dental cleaning (ie brushing of teeth) in over four days. If this was a provider that was in home or a family member, this would be considered neglect and criminal. So not let your loved ones get "care" at this facility or at affiliated doctors. .

Then there was Heather and Bryan and a few more my memory can't remember. But I want to say that these nurses made our stay there bearable with so much compassion. They were very attentive to our needs but to my husbands needs most of all. I will never forget the many tears I shed by my husbands bedside and a soft hand on my back and shoulder asking me if they could do something for me. Their hugs were so comforting esp Fernando and heather. We were also blesssed with great Dr's that did everything they could for my Jimmy when he got into the ICU. Mind you it's hard to diagnose something if you don't actually examine it. A procedure, antibiotic shot and other meds prescribed by a different competent urgent care was what was needed. The issue I have is that they refuse to authorize my pharmacy to a refill of a prescription for a low dose statin that their Dr. prescribed (for a one year term refilled every 90 days) without seeing me and getting new labs - In other words, they want me to pay for an appointment and new labs that my insurance will only cover once per year....because their employee left. But they have the labs, which is what providers use to determine whether the prescription is warranted. Statins are literally the most prescribed medication in the US and they have all the evidence to validate a simple refill but are trying to force me to pay a significant out of pocket expense to get it.

Once in a room the process was rather quick, vital signs, history, treatment plan, procedure, patient education and discharge. The staff's character and personality is where they excelled. The staff recognized that there was pain and anxiety and was able to deal with that while making the patient feel comfortable. I have never been to a clinic and seen that kind of great service.
