The staff was so gentle during what is not a comfortable procedure. Dr. Tomberlin was patient and was ready to answer any questions I had about the procedure. From Radiology I went to surgery for the actual biopsy. The pre-op nurses and the whole pre-op team were kind, efficient and professional, as was the post-op nurse. Dr. Dale Mitchum was my surgeon. He and his surgical team made sure I was comfortable and did a great job with the surgery. Dr. Mitchum's follow-up care was exceptional. The results of the biopsy were not what we had hoped for. That said, he delivered the cancer diagnosis with care and explained the many options available. He did not try to sway me toward one option or another And encouraged me to review the options with my family prior to making my decision.

I was very impressed with how efficient and professional this facility and their staff are. We arrived right when they opened and the front desk person was cheerful and greeted us in a friendly manner. We were able to sign in at the kiosks quickly and we waited a short time to be seen. Angela quickly escorted me back to a room where she assessed my vitals and my health concerns. She was very kind and patient and explained things in a very friendly and personable manner. Next the Nurse Practitioner, Rachel came in and she was so helpful and kind and personable. She listened to what my symptoms were and was able to diagnose my condition. I so appreciated her hearing my heart with current and past situations with my health you could tell she definitely has a very caring spirit. I have to say I haven't been to an urgent care like this where people were overly concerned and caring with your situation. You didn't feel rushed and they made you feel like you & your health matters. I was so impressed by that. I could actually tell that people cared about their patients and their concerns about their health. I would highly recommend using this facility. Thank you so much for taking care of me today. Thats where the good stopped. 2 hrs later still have not seen anyone to tell me what's going on. Now I know there was a critical patient that was brought in by ambulance and I heard the commotion from that about 20 minutes after me getting set up with my stuff. It seemed like every person in the ER was dedicated to that one patient. I'm sorry for that family and know it had to be bad. But after 2 hrs of thinking I'm having a heart attack and no one is treating that I about lost my mind. After all was said and done, all I wanted to do was leave. Finally after 4 and a half hours I did that. Still running high on my pressure but when release I looked at paperwork. Nothing was said about why I came in but I had a temperature of 102. I did not! I had blood pressure problem. if at all possible, I will never go to this hospital again.

Then I reported to the staff that there was blood all over the tissue holder in the women's bathroom, and nothing was done about it. Nobody cleaned in the lobby through the entire time we was here, and yet there's trash all over the floor and the chairs not wiped down at all. Germs spread, yet this is the most unclean er I've ever been in. It's not like the staff is trained on preventing germs and infections from spreading. I've worked in several hospitals and health care facilities, and this is by far the absolute worst I've been to. Do better or tear this place down and start over with some new staff that actually cares about the facility and most importantly the patients, instead of treating them disrespectfully because they feel over worked or annoyed with patients, you know the ones who keeps the doors opened, all because they are sick or in pain and has been sitting here for hours in a nasty dirty waiting room. During the first visit ($150 cash non-insured) he really spends a lot of time with you, usually 45+ minutes, going over past history, current problems etc. He is big on ordering whatever is needed such as blood tests and x-rays. If you don't have insurance he will help work out. They are really great about calling in re-fills without having to make a visit and the cost per (non-insured) visit is about $80 as of this writing. They do require that you transfer your records to them before they will see you. Their office is very modern and all records kept electronically. They can also do blood work and other services on the spot saving the hassle of going to the hospital. Another great thing is that at Panhandle Family Medicine if he happens to go on vacation there are other very well qualified doctors available.

I stood 15 minutes in pain while the admitting person continued in the next room to eat her lunch before I was checked in. After checking in I waited 45 minutes for the Doctor came out looked at me asked what my problems were, I showed her my legs and ankles she said ok we will take care of you. This was the only time I ever saw the doctor. (about 2 minutes) I was in the waiting room another hour or more when a tech came to do a Sona gram on my legs. They then sat me in a cold hallway on a dirty gurney with a dirty gurney cover, that another sick person had just left. I moved to a chair right by the gurney . After about another hour a tech came to give me an EKG. and sat me back in the same cold hallway. I waited about another hour and a ex-ray tech came for me. The doctors order were to take an ex-ray of my knee. ????? its not my knee I was complying about it was my swollen legs. The tech asked me to wait while she checked with the doctor she came back apologized said the Doctor had make a mistake they were having communication problems with the Doctor. She then and took x-rays of my ankles and feet. Then sat me back in the same cold hallway I asked 3 times for warm blankets finally got one. They took several blood test over the time I sat there, and after about another hour a nurse came by to release me said the Doctor said I had edema to take and put Lana cane on my legs. I left there thinking what the heck and just wanted to get home. As i was driving home I felt something inside by loose fitting jacket. They forgot to remove the IV. I called my daughter who is a nurse and she said don't go back they will keep you waiting another 5 hours. Since I am on coumadin I was very glad my daughter could remove the IV. A week later I had to go to another emergency room have the same test to find out I had congestive heart failure. This emergency room needs to be restaffed or close.

My…read moreteenager was having chest pain and her pediatrician wanted her to get a cardio echo and they outright refused telling us that it isn't an emergency and doesn't warrant a life or death situation. She's 15 having chest pain and a resting HR of 121! The time before that she was having an allergic reaction and they insisted it was heat rash and sent us home. My mom was also having chest pain and they dismissed her telling me nothing was wrong with her only for us to find out the next day from a cardiologist that she needed a heart cath and went on to a triple bypass. Very unprofessional staff and doctors. We will be going to Gulf Coast if need be in the future. Run don't walk away from here!
