A year ago they misdiagnosed me with an " infection " This misdagnosis turned out to be cancer. Once I demanded an MRI a year later. I was told it was cancer and now has spread to three areas. Maybe you shou;d've had an MRI done instead of an ultrasound. Epic Fail!!! To top it off I had to go back to this house of horroes today for an annual physical. Waited in a room for 1.5 hours and no doctor in sight. Ant why is it called " doctors on duty ? " when is the last time an actual doctor stepped foot in the building? should be called " NP may or may not be on duty " RUN!!!!! read more

I am deeply disappointed with the care I received at this urgent care. When my rapid strep throat test came back negative, the nurse practitioner immediately framed the situation as "it must be gonorrhea or chlamydia" and started me on STI treatment, presenting it as the only explanation. When I specifically asked if it could be something else, she essentially said no. This was not only inaccurate but also incredibly irresponsible. What should have been said was something like: "Because the rapid test is negative, I'll start you on antibiotics that cover different possibilities, including STIs, while we wait for the lab swab to come back. It may turn out to be another bacterial cause, such as tonsillitis, which won't show up on today's rapid test. Let's cover our bases until we know for sure." That would have been professional, accurate, and safe. Instead, I left the clinic believing I had an STI and accused my partner of giving it to me. This created serious and unnecessary distress and could have had lasting consequences for my relationship. Days later, I got my lab results back -- I do not have an STI. What I actually had was a severe case of tonsillitis caused by another bacterium. All of this happened while I was so ill that I hadn't eaten in two days and fainted in the exam room. For a provider to so confidently and incorrectly declare an STI, without caveats or confirmation, was not just careless -- it was unprofessional and potentially harmful. Clinicians have a responsibility to frame uncertain situations with caution and balance, especially when the social implications are so high. This experience fell far short of that standard. read more

They are very unprofessional,they never have the phone working properly they never open on time or have the correct hours of service and the overall place is dirty they have little toys through off or hidden full of dirt instead of putting little toys they should dust or maybe sweep,I would avoid this place and go anywhere else read more

I have been here twice now and had an excellent experience both times. The first time with Dr. Natalie Pope and the second time with Dr. Amanda Almon (I think that is their last name's). Both of them took the time to listen to what was going on in my body and were very helpful. Also the entire team surrounding them from the front desk attendance to the nurses, everyone here is kind, helpful, follows through, easy to communicate with, and provide a wonderful experience for their patients. Even the referral team follows up consistently and does such a great job. I highly recommend coming to this clinic and you will be taken care of well. I really wanted to like this place.... but after they left me without the inhaler I needed while dealing with bronchitis and pneumonia I felt I needed to share my experience. They originally wrote me a prescription for a steroid inhaler, but not one accepted by my insurance. While the pharmacy worked with me on the spot to find inhalers my insurance would cover.... all this clinic had to do was give the okay for the updated prescription. The work was done for them and they just had to sign off on it. Which I was told they would do. I called multiple times, nothing came of it and was even told to come in a third time (they wanted to charge my insurance AGAIN.) Well another week has past and I've gone 2 weeks without the inhaler I needed. Struggled to breathe for most of the time and had to take more days off of work than I would have if I'd gotten the inhaler to help me breathe. I've never dealt with something like this with any urgent care or doctor I've been to in the past. Was very disappointed that they lacked the care and professionalism to simply correct a prescription or even give me the call back they said they would give me. 2 stars because the place was clean and the staff was kind. Still..... getting medicine is incredibly important and they dropped the ball on that one. I won't be going back to this facility anytime soon. And yes, I'm still in need of that inhaler but I've just accepted I'm not getting it and took this week off work, too. The doctor only gave me a note for two days off work last week, btw. Went there at 8 right when they open according to google, only to find a note taped to the door that they actually open at 9 that day for some reason. Great sat in traffic for nothing Left and came back 10 mins after they opened to be told there's a 2 hour wait!!! I'm here because I'm sick and need something asap, there's 1 other person in the waiting room - why would it possibly take 2 hours? By then I have other things to do and can't just sit around waiting while feeling sick. Avoid this place unless you have an entire day to be seen for 15 mins and told to go rest. read more

I hardly ever leave good OR bad reviews, but I thought this would be helpful to know, especially if you are pregnant or need something quickly. I went into this office on a Thursday, didn't wait long, maybe 30 minutes, but I was one of two people there. I was called back and the PA I saw was friendly and came in quickly.. I was asked to do a urine/self swab test in the restroom, but was given no other instructions. When I asked where to leave the sample the medical assistant just pointed to the counter outside of the bathroom and said I could leave it there. I thought this was super non-confidential. when I walked out the assistants just looked at me and no one made moves to collect the sample I left. They were all sitting/standing near the office chatting. I waited in line in the lobby to ask the receptionist to let someone know I left the sample, where she just yelled to the back for someone to get it. I didn't get my results for an entire week - and they did the wrong test (tested for more than needed) after I explicitly requested a certain one. they told me I'd have to come in to review my results and talk with a doctor, instead of over the phone... I'm pregnant and this test was for something I needed to know quickly to get it taken care of. Would not recommend this office. Overall unprofessional and inconvenient. I went to Sutter and got my results in 24 hours. read more

This review is for the Aptos office of Doctors on Duty. I usually don't write bad public reviews, but since Doctors On Duty doesn't seem to have a review process (maybe by design?) i thought I should inform people about this medical office April 17. The reason for the visit was the flu. I was seen in my car. 1. the nurse came to the car to take my vitals. it was very sunny and she had a difficult time reading the oxemeter. I asked if we could move to the shade and she said no. my experience withLEDs in the sun is that everything is 8's. Of course my oxygen level was 88%. At point I should have been sent to ER. 2. They gave me a flu and covid test combo. I tested positive for COVID, and the flu and negative for strep (I said I didn't have a sore throat). I was astonished I had COVID since I had it in February and took the home test that morning which was negagive. I had a PCR test done the following day and it was negative. 3. I read the Visit Summary which contained the following errors. it said a. I had a sore throat. I didn't have one. b. cough with exposure to COVID. I had not come in contact with anyone with COVID. I had been home for two weeks recovering from minor surgery so I had bee in contact with no one. c. contact with and suspected exposure to COVID. See 3.c. 4. I had dyspnea. One of the symptoms of dyspnea is painful breathing. i had no pain with breathing. 5. i Was asked for prescription drugs I was taking. One drug I mentioned twice was not on the report. Another drug I do not take is on the report. read more

My wife injured her foot. We made an appointment and were lead to believe they had an x-ray machine....they don't. They looked at her foot wrapped it and then sent her to the Watsonville location which does have an x-ray machine. The staff at Aptos was pleasant, showed compassion, and were apologetic for having to send us away. Initially we were told at the Watsonville desk that we would have a 45 minute wait. We explained that we were sent by the Aptos site. The receptionist told us to sign in as a "walk-in." We then saw our wait as 45 minutes on the wait time screen in the waiting room. That was cut to 10 minutes by the x-ray technician who was wonderful. The tech was helpful, provided us a copy of the x-rays for our podiatrist. The tech was proficient, professional, and cleared up a frustrating situation. read more

This is your standard doctors on Duty quik fix human body shop. I checked on the price for a school physical for some of my peeps and it is a whopping $254 bucks! A return visit ranges from 160-280 dollars!!! Ok.... Let's see how many starving students can afford those rates? So, I guess it would be worth it if you had pneumonia...or were injured and didn't want to pay 2,000 for an emergency room visit! I went to the student health clinic to check on a tb test. Ten bucks out the door. I think if you're a student, it's a no brainer sad to where to get the best bang for ur buck! read more
