I was told that this clinic offers very good pricing for GLP-1 medication, so I called to inquire. I spoke with Elsa and asked specifically about the pricing. She encouraged me to come into the office to discuss it in person. The following morning, I drove to the Chula Vista location and arrived at 10:00 AM. When I arrived, Elsa appeared very busy and mentioned that they were short-staffed. She asked me to begin filling out paperwork and said she would be right back. I explained that I would like to know the pricing first before completing any paperwork, but she insisted that I finish the forms. After driving 40 minutes from La Jolla and waiting over 30 minutes, I was finally told that the price is $399 per month. I was very surprised, as I had been told by a friend that the price was $149. I was then informed that the promotion had ended and that $399 is the regular price. I understand that promotions change, however I do not understand why I was asked to come in, wait, and complete paperwork without being clearly informed of the actual cost beforehand. Had I known the real price, I would not have made the trip. It felt misleading and disrespectful of my time. Additionally, the office appeared disorganized and understaffed, and Elsa's behavior came across as very pushy and unprofessional. I felt pressured rather than helped. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I spent several hours of my day for an appointment that could have been avoided with honest communication. I considered not leaving a review but if this helps someone else then that's all that matters. I went to their office thinking they are being honest about what they're offering their patients, but they're not. I decided to do their zepbound shots and who knows what Elva was injecting me with. To begin with the office itself is pretty sketch. They'll have a NP that's not in office, who knows where they're at call you to "clear" you for the shots. The second week I returned she couldn't find my file, she never added me and asked what they had sold me. She never weighed me again after the first visit and always asked what we were doing. The "shots" are already set so you never see what they're actually giving you. On my last week, I told her how disappointed I was because the shots didn't do anything. She said "ok let's do THIS one and you'll see results." And I said what's different about this shot and she said well this one is zepbound so I asked what have you been giving me these past 3 weeks and she mentioned "well idk how many original zepbound they send and how many generic ones we have so it just depends." Please safe your money and to risk any health issues go to your PCP and avoid this place at all cost. I'm not sure how they're up and running. read more

I accompanied a friend to this place, I didn't know what to expect, I'm in the medical field and they had vials with pink cannulas inserted in it!!! The ventilation system blows right over the rooms releasing dust, debris into the air and in to the vials because of the cannulas left in it!! I told the nurse assistant and said that this is so unsafe and unsanitary that you can't leave them inserted in it cause of bacterial growth. She refuted and said " well I don't know that's how we do it here" and walked away!!! I took microbiology and I think I know a bit about bacterial growth! read more

Leaving a review for my mother's experience at the Doctors Weight Clinic - she does not have a Yelp so I am writing for her: She has visited the clinic in the past when she was younger to lose weight before pregnancy; because of this great experience in the past, she wanted to pay a visit again to change her diet. These past 3 three months, she has been visiting the clinic to help lose weight as she felt it would best to do it for her. She says that the women at this clinic are very professional, non-judgmental, and always listen to her concerns as a woman. These visits have helped her maintain a healthy weight loss and balance in her diet that have left her pleased with the results thus far! Well I came here once right, and at first I was taken care of greatly by a lady named Elsa. Wonderful and knowledgeable. I went in today and was instead taken by this girl who looked over eager and under qualified and I believe her name was Ana. I wanted Elsa because she wrote me up a great plan to follow and I had started to see results after purchasing a B vitamin pack. Ana was trying to adamantly sell me something I didn't have in my regimen. When I politely declined her manager, this old woman named Rose, came forward and was giving me such a disdainful stare. So I looked at her right back and told her she was being rude to her face. Come to find out she's the manager. I don't know how she even got the job or how she's also apparently a doctor but she displays not a hint of poise nor professionalism for such a title. Her customer service, or lack of, is disgusting. And you can tell from outside looking in that there's a disputable amount of toxicity and nepotism in that environment and Rose is the one who generates most of it. Another customer told me that Rose and Anna push packs on other people that aren't even a part of their regimen and one customer even had an allergic reaction one time. I'd give the place one star but Elsa was super nice so I don't want to do her a disservice. Now the more I know though, the more disgusted I am with this establishment and those two women. I just received a call from Veronica asking me for a "remaining balance" . When I signed the contract the manager wrote different prices on it and I paid in full. She said there's another contract that I signed that said otherwise, and will take me to court. Obviously someone is not being honest. Be careful and take photos of what they are writing and if it's a copy or the original. I would never refer someone there. Not only did they give me the wrong shot when the manager was away, and had to restart 2 weeks later, but they changed pricing and said I should not have trusted her and should have taken photos of everything. I heard about this Clinic from a friend that was losing weight and lost about 80 pounds coming here. I was so desperate that I needed help getting my weight and my life under control. I started in Jan 2, 2013 and as of today October 11, 2013 I have lost 120 pounds. Now the program is not easy, but it is simple and well worth the time and energy it takes to lose the weight. I assumed like most for-profit clinics that this was going to be a big scam that would just try to make my money. I couldn't have been more wrong. This clinic is family owned and has been in business for over 30 years. Not only do they genuinely care about each of their patients, but they will not work with patients who are unwilling to commit 100% to their weight loss plan. Their goal is to enable patients to live a happier, healthier life on a permanent basis rather than a "quick fix" basis like so many of their competitors. Be aware the doctor is there one day out a week, slow service to get to a patient and will send them to a room where some have lights on some have lights off and leave you there without checking on you. I overheard a lady even losing records which is very bad on the clinic itself. As far as the clinic it looks like it belongs in little mexico! Chairs are nasty and filty, it smells like meldow as soon as you walk in. And usually for people the first walk in is the impression you get for the clinic and staff before you even start your program. NOT WORTH GOING HERE! This is by far the most unhealthy weight loss treatment I've done next to ephedra (young and stupid). I researched what the ingredient is in the pill they give you called phentermine, it is an amphetamine. They don't tell you to avoid other supplements when taking it. They don't warn you of side effects. You can become addicted. Taking these I had no appetite what so ever. I barely ate anything. Did I lose weight? No! Once I found out what I was putting in my body and at what cost I immediately discontinued usage. I lost the weight on my own with hard work and HEALTHY food. Beware! read more

If I can give this place zero stars I would. I went in there to inquire about B Vitamins, and my initial encounter was with an old woman at the front desk named Rose. Not only was she extremely unprofessional but from the outside looking in; she seems to foster a toxic work environment and was repeatedly berating her medical assistants in front of the patients in the waiting room. After waiting 20 excruciating minutes past my appointment time, I was taken in by an overly eager medical assistant who tried to push supplements that I didn't even ask for. She also tried to push a whole weight loss plan on me and I'm nowhere near remotely overweight. I just needed energy vitamins. If that didn't make things worse, Rose must have assumed I didn't speak Spanish because within earshot I overheard her saying that "I just walked away without saying 'thank you' like an uneducated animal. " I don't know how this place is still operational, starting with the subpar level of professionalism. Another patient told me that Rose was the supervisor. Boy, do I feel sorry for those medical assistants. Save your money and go elsewhere, where you're actually appreciated and valued as a patient and treated with basic human decency the so-called manager of this place lacks here . read more

Well what can I say. If you need diet suppressants to keep off your weight such as phentermine they are the cheapest deal in town but as a counseling service well it is non existent. I have gone into weight and the nurses say need a shot? Need a pill? They are not teaching you how to eat. Or why we eat and how to deal with triggers. I have received one call from them in 3 6 months with them as a follow up and there is no real food plan except for the first three days. If you are generally a healthy person and want to take off a few pounds and want a little phentermine help and save a few buck then this is your place. BUT if you have tried several diets and are looking for a lot of support and have a journey to get to your ideal weight Cynthia Stadd nutritionist is a great support and I like The Lindora program a lot too bad they are no longer in San Diego but I like that program a lot. read more

Been going to this clinic on and off for 25 years. The shots make you feel fantastic!!!! The diet is one that anyone could lose weight on. the shots just make you feel good, which in turn make you want to exercise. The doctor visit is hokey and truthfully to me a waste....however I have heard of a few folks that learned they had a problem they were not aware of once they had their blood work done, so I guess for some it is a good thing.
