Cafe Bleu next door has probably some of the best food on the lake. We really enjoyed our time here and the only downsides were when the water was low which it has been consistently for a while now. The ramp gets too steep to board the marina and it gets really tight departing the marina when you take your boat out. I don't blame the marina for this. Poor lake water management is not their fault so I will ding them for it. The price was one of the highest on the lake but I found out that you get what you pay for. I hope the new rental fleet does not degrade the the experience for marina residents as I have seen elsewhere. Good marinas are in short supply, this is one of them. The guys who run it are really nice and do an outstanding job running the place. It's always clean, and they'll help you with issues any time you ask. The marina itself is on a point, not in a cove which is what you want because no matter how low the lake gets there's always plenty of water there to keep things afloat, and once you exit the marina you're right on the deep part of the channel. If I ever buy another boat, I'll be returning here.

The parking lot is opposite to the boating office and it's a short walk from the lot. There's a long staircase to go down to the marina to get into the boat. The instructions before getting on and driving the boat were clear. We had a great time on the pontoon this weekend. You can usually give them a call if you need to extend the time and if there's no other bookings after yours, they are usually happy to oblige.

I've been a member for 4 or 5 years and have nothing but great things to say about the club. I owned boats for over 10 years and as a single female, most of my girlfriends couldn't back a trailer or help me with getting the boat in the water so I was usually doing it all by myself (which isn't easy with a 22+ foot boat). When I was with a guy who didn't know how to do those things it was awkward. Plus, owning and storing a boat as nice as the club has was more than twice as expensive. I've been tempted to buy a boat again a few times over the past few years but every time I walk up to a boat at Volente Boat Club that is already on the lake and ready to go.....and then I get off the boat and never have to clean or maintain it......well, that's an easy decision. I will say that the dock hands get to know you and it feels good to walk up with a group of friends and be greeted by name and treated like you are valued. It strokes the ego a bit. Also, in all of the years as a member I've never had problems getting a reservation.....and I'm really bad about waiting until the last minute to book. In fact, today I called them up around 11 and said I would be out there some time between 2-3 and they got me right on a boat. At the end of the day, Alex, the manager saw my son and I walking to the parking lot (which is the only downside.....but great exercise) and he told us to jump in his car and gave us a ride up the hill to where we were parked. That is customer service. :) I love the club and it's really the best way to enjoy a carefree lake experience.

(They have a policy if you cancel, they will give you credit in the future, but I'm not planning on being back.) I called on the morning I wanted to go and they had boats available and could accommodate. I arrived and the staff were all polite and helpful. Cooper K took care of coordinating my rental and was fair, professional, and went over the "rules" with me in a polite yet thorough manner. The other team members did as he directed to get the boat ready and ensure easy launch. The boat was in great condition, well maintained, and was very comfortable for guest and handled well for me (captain). A couple of recommendations for VIP - 1) use 150' lines on anchors vs 100'; and 2) rent the "lilly pad" floats. Buying for $375+ isn't practical if the customer is from out of town. I recommend the business and I am not affiliated with it. The staff did not know I write reviews.
