First off, no lines. And if you manage to find the south entrance off of Harney Street, you don't even have to go through security. Wow. Second off, the local government staff was helpful. I mean it still took about 45 minutes longer than was really necessary -- which is to be expected -- but I actually walked out of there feeling like I had accomplished something. And it only cost me $1 more than I was anticipating. I hopefully will never have to come back here, but for what it's worth, a 3-Star experience at county courthouse is about as good as it gets.

Upon entry from the Farnam side, you are met with the standard 'old school' airport security. This time thru I accidentally had left a credit card knife in my wallet. Informed of my contraband, I quickly removed my knife and placed it in my vehicle. No less than 5 officers standing by the one line they had. My prosecutor was not budging in the slightest. Long story short, there is a big chance you don't want to be here. I don't blame you. Try to avoid at all cost

All the departments are easy to find and access. Parking is normally okay; either on the street or in their parking lot. It's a great courthouse and I see nothing wrong with it.

I ended up missing a court date due to being in ICU. I promptly called the courts when I was discharged from the hospital and was issued a warrant of failed to appear. I was told by court clerk because its late on Friday to keep my medical papers with me all week end and be at court first thing Monday. That Sunday night I was pulled over even tho I told the cop of my illness and showed the papers from hospital stay I was still arrested humiliated in my year for all to see and took to jail where once again I showed them I was unable to leave the hospital because I was in ICU because I was very sick from sepsis and could not leave or I would get sicker or possibly die. They read and shrugged it off like I intentionally missed court. That morning I went to court I showed the judge and the prosecutor my papers of my illness and that I was in septic shock and in ICU. They read and haha didn't care I was still charged the failed to appear fines. I did turn in a motion and haha it was denied WTF!!! I was IN ICU I WENTNINTO SEPTIC SHOCK I HAD LINES RUNNING IN AND OUT OF ME I DUD NOT MISS COURT BECAUSE I WAS NOT RESPONSIBLE I MISSED COURT BECAUSE I HAD A VERY DEADLY SICKNESS!! I SHOUKD NOT HAVE TO IAY THE FAILER TO APOER FINES THATS BULLDHIT DORRY I WAS ON THE HOSPITAL ​

Had to come here for a disability hearing for my late mother in law…read more The court room is hard to find, I wish they had signs, so glad we were early and there was an employee to point us in the right direction, it's literally in a hallway. My major complaint is when the hearing was over, we were not told the time frame we would hear anything or where to submit the travel expenses we incurred. so that lead to a call back. And our hearing was over an hour late, but that is none of their fault. Parking is a bit of a headache unless you know that there is a garage across the street. Overall it's what is expected from a government building. Security was super tight which was a bit of peace of mind, but overall things could be done better.

Most of…read morethe urban court buildings I've been to, you have to pass through a metal detector and have your stuff x-rayed, and God help you if you have a pocket knife. But not here. There are no metal detectors anywhere. You just walk in, conduct your business and walk out, easy as pie. This building contains the county courts as well as most of the other county functions, such as treasurer, clerk, register of deeds, surveyor and commissioners. It also houses the county probation offices and the local DMV.

The officers at the doors scanning persons and belongings are welcoming and efficient. The majority of the staff smile when they pass you in the hallway and the ones behind the glass helping you are pleasant and efficient. Judge Palms handled the chaos of his court room with practiced efficiency. I'm not sure who the gentleman at one of the tables was but his knowledge of more than two languages was amazing. I'm not sure how much of the various languages he knew, but he was able to ask and then direct individuals that the court would get an interpreter to help them. He also somehow managed to do two jobs at the same time. It's like he had two brains, four ears and two mouths. Maybe some extra hands. I was very impressed.

It is a small marker that has a prime location at the front of the Cass County Courthouse and…read moreadministrative building in downtown Plattsmouth Nebraska. It has the crests of the military branches nearby. The marker is made with a brick background and has the plaque mounted on it. The marker simply reads, " For those who made the supreme sacrifice And has a list of individuals that have given their life during WWI, WWII, Korea & Vietnam." And it provides a too long list of names. Just behind it, mounted on the wall of the courthouse is another marker, "In honor of the men of Cass County, Nebraska who served in the Great War and in memory of those who gave their lives." It also lists too many names. "Erected and presented through the efforts of the Fontenelle Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, 1922." [Review 11352 overall, 1129 of 2019.]

There is continued construction in the building to create additional space for both departments. Currently, the Lincoln Police Academy is being run at this location. Parking is free, across the street near K Street even though staff parking is located on the premises. The facility is fairly modernized except for the fitness center which is soon to be improved.
