I feel sad for this course. It has great potential. It has a nice chipping area, it has a nice putting surface and a good driving range. The greens on the course are pretty good. From here it goes down hill. The range balls are practically unhittable. They are really old. The fairways are very bare. Mostly, they are weeds. The bunkers are concrete dirt. The clubhouse is very sad. Hopefully, some new owners will take over and spruce up the place. I hope so. read more

Visiting Council Bluffs, was going to shoot 9 holes day after Thanksgiving... Up until the course management pulled up to my wife and young niece who were walking the dogs and yelled at them, threatened to call the police, and generally acted like an ass. My wife and niece were admittedly in the wrong as they did not realize they were on the golf course, but a bit of politeness goes a long way instead of being an a-hole. The other reviews on here confirm my observation that the course is poorly maintained as well. Save your money. read more

There are so many courses to pick from in this area, go somewhere else! On a Sunday in May, course in terrible shape, dandelions almost a foot tall, every green had dead spots and lots of dead spots throughout including fairways. They've increased their prices to "not be known as the cheap course in the area" but not telling people until they get there. Prices online still show old rates. Also would NOT honor the Nebraska Golf Passport despite assuring NE passport they would. Left my name and number with the course so they could correct the issue. No response. Emailed no response. If you are going to charge more be clear and up front with patrons and maintain a course that is with the price. read more

I thought that the golf course here was very good. The customer service was amazing and loved the environment there. The layout of the course exceeds expectation with elegant water features to holes. Overall a really good course that I would recommend. read more

Course is flat and in great shape with pretty views of the lake. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. It generally is pretty busy but we played 9 in an 1 & 1/2 hours. Would come back for sure. read more

Used to love this course. Was always cheap and laid back- nothing special but great place to go after work for twighlight golf. New owner is TERRIBLE. Prices shot up, new rules w carts, changed the range, and got rid of twighlight golf. I'm sorry but this course is not worth the weekend greens fees and if you aren't even going to allow people to tee off later than 5 than there is NO reason to golf here. And why change the range to hourly?? Nobody wants to pay 20 dollars for balls to get warmed up for a round. Save your money and go to literally any other course around. read more

Pros: +The people that work at Fox Run are great, friendly people from the clubhouse help to beer cart girls and everyone in between. +Rates are fair. +Have a putting green and driving range. Cons: -The Greens. The green are sandy, bumpy... some roll fast, some roll slow. Not a fair test of putting. -Water. This course doesn't drain well. Any rain results in standing water in the bunkers and fairways. Not a fan. -Bugs, in the summer this place is bug central. Beware. -Slow play. For some reason 5somes and, yes, 7somes are allowed on WEEKENDS! Insane. The slow play is a major issue with me. A final note, the flooding of the summer of 2011 has really hurt this course, hopefully it improves in time. Will keep you posted. read more

I played here yesterday and I don't think I would go back. I got a daily deal and come to find out, the deal wasn't as good as it seemed to be. I felt misled about that though it was a fair price for playing a round. The sixth hole was one of the worst I have ever played. A par 5 with no fairway, just lumpy grass that apparently hasn't recovered from flooding. Holes 8 & 9 you are subject to getting hit with range balls, I don't know who thought it was a good idea to set up the 8th hole 250 yards from the range tee's. The 9th fairway was littered in range balls. The sand traps looked like they hadn't been raked all year. There were also a lot of people on the course, making for a slow day. read more

Will not be returning to this course in my lifetime. I'd much rather just quit playing the game after my most recent experience here(today). Everything is overpriced(even for a golf course) and was continually rushed throughout the course, being told at one point that there were nine parties waiting on mine which is absolutely outrageous. Not only is it a challenge to golf that slow, but if you have nine parties waiting on one another you need to spread your tee times out. It is nearly impossible to golf a 4some in 4 hours. To expect that is absolutely ridiculous and absurd. This is not the PGA Tour. This is not The Masters. It's a rinks dink little golf course in council bluffs Iowa and the staff will remind you of such the whole time you're there. The younger staff (cart girl, counter guy) were nothing but great and quite truthfully made my day while I was there. As for the others you have officially ruined a course that I've enjoyed my entire life in a matter of six hours. Congrats. read more

A few months ago I was a part of my best friends wedding. She had it a Fox Run golf course. I thought it was a beautiful place but things started unraveling. The day before the wedding they were scrambling to iron the chair covers. There were unnecessary tables everywhere. There were kids serving the guess and didn't have any direction. Myself and the whole bridal party started serving the guests because the kids that worked there couldn't handle the chaos. Food was scarce and some people didn't eat. We didn't even get what we ordered. I felt so bad for my friend Molly because all she wanted was for her day to be special. If you live in the Carter Lake area or Omaha do not reserve your venue here. You will be disappointed. Trust me! read more

I only gave a one because I can't give zero stars! We booked our wedding ceremony and reception here and we had nothing but disappointment! We made a deposit and booked the venue a year out from our wedding. From that time they switch wedding/event coordinators four times not to mention the fourth change was a week before th wedding. We went in a month prior and spoke with Grant double verified what our contract stated and how we wanted it and everything still seemed fine. Then three weeks before wedding we paid for all food kegs and rest of venue. Then a week prior to wedding my sister calls to check on where we can put apps they inform us they switch people again and to talk to her. She proceeds to tell us that they don't have us on the calendar they don't have our food or kegs ordered not so they have our linens ordered that we paid extra for. You can see my concern already a week out and they don't have us on calendar. She tells my sister she needs To meet with me again. So the Friday before wedding I have t Make time to go "Replan" everything! Do you think they apologized nope. She asks me for my contract because she said the other person disorganized and lost it. Luckily I had a copy and all my receipts. She then tells us the person who told us th venue was big enough wasn't true bc they couldn't fit all our guests that they would have to be in separate rooms. How horrible for my guests. Night before wedding we go up to decorate and I see the linens they were supposed to order and they chair covers are so wrinkled. The venue lay says when I ask her why that she pulled out of their closet and put them in washing machine. When asked why they didn't order bc I paid for that they said they forgot and it didn't get done. No they didn't refund my money of what I paid for Them. Did I get apology nope just a shrug of too bad I don't care attitude! I was pissed. Then wedding day it's time to eat they serve the other room first before th family tables and head table. They don't serve any of th main room rolls and butter or the head table. They run out of salads. Our parents who were paying didn't even get one nor their siblings or most of our family. Then dinner time again they served the other room prior to the head table and the family. There was suppos d to be white gravy confirmed several times even the fri before for the chicken fried chicken and guess what didn't have it had a nasty brown gravy but that's not the worst part they ran out of good again. My in laws who paid for all th food and drinks and most of my family didn't even get served. When we said something they scrogged up some food that was served cold and only had meat and corn not veggie or gravy of any kind and to boot my bridesmaids and in laws had to serve the food. My groomsmen were ready to go buy pizza at this point because we were so upset. Family and head table should of been mandatory served first and there should of been enough food we gave exact count of people. I never ever received and apology and not did my in laws and they never offered a refund of any kind. My husband used to be a golfer there and he will no longer be going to that course. I can't believe all the broken promises and disappointment this venue had. Please dont EVER book an event or wedding here . Did I mention the bartender serving my guests downstairs was so wasted she had to be sent home. read more

This is a fun little course that we do a large group outing with every year. Very accommodating to all our guests. Great service both on the course and in the club house. Buffet food set up worked as we kept it simple with burgers and chicken and sides. read more

It's probably mostly due to the flooding, but this course was in terrible shape. Aside from the sanding water in every bunker and fairway, even the tee boxes were in awful. On par 3s, you had to tee the ball up, because there was not a nice piece of grass to put it on. IMO, they should turn it into a 13-14 hole course (take out the 5 or so that are ruined due to flooding) and have people pay 75% of the green and cart fees. read more

BEWARE!!!!.... do not pay for golf through Fox Run. I saw that Golf Now had 18 holes with cart for $18.35 at 406pm. I called the course and talked to the manager and the best he WOULD DO is $22 for 9 holes. Wow. Crazy right? We only have time for 9 holes so was hoping for a better price, NOT almost $4 more for 9 less holes. Otherwise the course is improved and nicer than it used to be. I am just warning you to stay away from dealing with the course directly for tee times. I even pointed this discrepancy out while talking to the manager. He was very blasé. We ended up golfing Eagle Hills. Eagle Hills was 9 holes and cart for $15. Plus they have the GPS on their carts!!! read more

Flat, not hilly. A good walking course (although I never would). No blind shots. Bent grass fairways. Medium rough. Interesting course. Good test of golf. Fair for both right and left handers. Offers wide variety of shots. Five sets of tees and can play long or short. No unfair holes. Greens firm, hold a good shot, putt true. Several dog legs and multi-level greens. Each hole is private, no adjacent fairways, no distractions. I hold an eight handicap and shot an 86 from the blue tees. Course marshall on premises. You will benefit from calling for tee times. Accommodating pro shop staff. Good value. Will play again. read more

The course is in very poor shape. I would not go back even in an evening at a reduced price. A public course with private ownership = crap

This is probably the worst run golf course I have ever been at. Also the worst customer service experience I have ever had at a golf course. Don't waste your time or money. The pro shop was left unattended and I had to wait for a girl to go get some guy outside to ring me up. The so called pro is uneducated and rude. read more
