I called at least 6 different electricians. Majority I couldn't understand, or they asked me things I just had said to them and/or didn't seem to want to really take any time to listen. One I called, lots of noise in the background. They quoted me $99 just to come out and then they would price quote me. Even stating what I had said to Meadow and that I would buy both. After knowing I wasn't going to use them, I mentioned the noise, and he said he was at a bar having a beer. Found ANM were well worth the price Meadow quoted. Really, these are the people. Once I got everything, Meadow got me in the books right away. Nicholas was to be here at 7:30 am. Loved that he texted he was running 15 mins late. He was really nice and knowledgeable. To my surprise, he was saying goodbye, and I said wait who do I pay? They are sending invoice in the mail. Who does that? :-) Absolutely nothing bad to say. Will wait til I get the invoice but pretty sure I know what it will be per Meadows and mine's conversation. Update: I did get the invoice. Close to $100 more than I thought. Dropping a star.

So what do I do, I go on Yelp, put out a request for gutter cleaning bids and go from there. And while I got several call/message backs I decided to go with Scott Doyle at Rise & Shine Contracting LLC despite not having any reviews (TOFTT). So I guess I have the honor of being his first Yelp review! Now while the other bids had good reviews and services my final decision to go with Rise & Shine came down to two things: 1. He had the lowest quote and 2. He had the better availability Our house is reasonably easy, two gutters, one east, one west and four down spouts and an easy pitch to the roof. I'd do it myself but I don't like heights and it's a two story house. And while the other gutter cleaning services were pretty consistent on the price when quoting for our house, Rise & Shine's quote seemed more reasonable for the job, being just below everyone else. As for scheduling, I understand that this time of year is probably a busy time for services like this so most gave a schedule time of a week out for the most part. With wet weather inbound we needed it sooner rather than later and Rise & Shine was able to schedule within 48 hours. The bottom line, Rise & Shine had the better quote, better availability and as for the work, he had good communication, showed up on time, was friendly, professional, and did an excellent job. I only know this because he took pictures of the gutters and sent them to me when he finished. Other services in the past had not done that so this was a nice consideration, especially since I don't like to go on the roof. He also did a great job cleaning up the mess on the ground afterwards. I mention this because I've had gutter cleaning services in the past that just left the mess on the ground, figured that wasn't a part of the price at the time. But Scott was thoughtful and thorough in this matter. Rise & Shine also offers other services which Scott mentioned, but most is stuff I can do myself with time and motivation, but going through his website I saw just a plethora of other services provided, some of which I could've used in the past, so definitely need to keep him in mind for future projects. After reviewing all three quotes, we decided to go with Clay. Eagle was competitive in their pricing so the mutual friend certainly helped to obtain our business. Clay was also helpful by providing other business contacts for a few other projects that we have lined up. Once we accepted the roof bid, purchasing the material secured our deal. Roofing material was delivered by the materials supplier. The actual roofing job was scheduled during a block of decent weather and took two days to complete. Clay himself came afterwards to do the inspection of workmanship and site clean-up. We paid the remaining balance with our Discover card without any additional fees (many other companies add a surcharge for credit cards) upon job completion. My wife and I are happy with the customer service and workmanship provided by Eagle and will choose Eagle in the future for other home needs.

He promised 2 days of installation and 7 days of logistics. It took over two months for him to finish the kitchen, and a total of 7 visits to our property requiring us to take many days off work or to have to ask family or friends to be present every single time. Here is the list of major issues with our installation: 1.He never verified the dimensions we gave him for our kitchen. We measured the entire room, including ceiling height, where the window was, full blown layout. He confirmed that all dimensions were good and nothing needed to be changed. That resulted in size cabinets, and tight space for stove and microwave. Not even an 1/8" so our cabinet doors drag on microwave panel and is chipping the door away. 2. He did not open the shipment before he started the installation. He received only 40% of the material necessary to finish the kitchen so for months, literally months we did not have a Kitchen as he did not do his due diligence like any contactor should do to make sure the material he received was correct and whole. Cooking out of a microwave and cleaning in a bath sink for months, sigh. Just not what I had in mind after a long day at work and a sizable investment. 3. The quality of material is very poor. There is chips and cracks all over the place. Many of the joints are already separating either from bad installation or bad material. 4. He did not communicate with his countertop contractor and did not provide the appropriate dimensions so the stone needed to be modified in our house. Many notches and too much caulking to hide all the imperfections. 5. There was an excuse about everything but no ownership. At the end of the installation, he offered us $250 for delays and lack of performance. That's only 1.6% of how much we paid him, not to mention the days we had to take off of work to be present while he made so many trips to complete it. I strongly recommend you avoid trying to save money. Your sanity is worth more, trust me I made a huge mistake by trusting in his capability as a contractor. Just buy from Costco, at least you can keep them accountable. If I could go back and do it again, I would have gladly paid the $22k to Costco. At least you know they'll do it right.
