Margot and her team are a literal God send!! I was in a bind and needed my 9 year old German shepherd taken out for walks while I was adjusting to my new work schedule. She was able to fit me in and responded to me very promptly. Long story short my pup is always so excited when his walker comes. They give me updates while I'm at work on how his day is going which is such a joy! I'm so happy I was able to find Margot and her team. I can't recommend them enough. We have been using Dog Gone Walking to walk our two dogs regularly for a while now and have been so happy. We have been using Dog Gone Walking for our husky since shortly after we picked her up and their service has been exceptional. When we first got Olive, she was too young to be walked outside, so Margot came to our house and played with her in our back yard. Margot & Carolina have both come to walk our puppy and always show up at the agreed upon time and are able to accommodate us even with the occasional late request. They also send a picture of our dog every time they come which is a nice touch. They are both very good with our dog and she is always excited to see them. read more

We are so happy we found Margot and Renee. They take such great care of our 20 month old Rottie Mocha. Mocha is not easy to handle. She is 70 pounds of muscle and has a ton of energy. They walk her 2 times a week, and Mocha looks forward to it every week! Since they started in April Mocha is more disciplined on our walks are more enjoyable. They are honest, friendly and extremely professional. Each week we get an email to see if we need to change the schedule. Super flexible. I have used them 3-4 times for our young labradoodle. While really sweet with our dog and doing a good grooming job just terrible, non professional communication. I have had at least 2-3 no shows with barely an apology. Scheduling is an absolute nightmare even though we had no restrictions on date or time. Very unreliable and also honestly felt like they didn't want to have customers. Today we had another no show after booking a month in advance our grooming appointment. I had our dog sitter call since we were out of town to reschedule and they were very rude to her. They said they had a family matter and could not talk. Disappointing!! read more

Update 2/2016: Many people have contacted me saying Margot is telling them that someone else is using her company name and that is who walked my dogs. That is not true. I hired Margot. She and Dog Gone Walking screwed up. Not someone pretending to be her. Update 11/2014: It took these jokers almost a year to cash my husband's check. Not only did they fail to walk my dog every day we hired them, their bookkeeping is pretty bad. I hired Margot to walk our 2 dogs over the weekend: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. My mother was watching the house, so all they had to do was ring the bell, get the dogs and walk them. Margot promised she or one of her family members would walk the two dogs everyday between 4 & 5pm. She promised everyone would be prompt and I would receive a text everyday confirming the walk had happened. When I arrived home late Sunday, my mother informed me that no one showed up on Satuday. Worse yet, Margot told my mom on Sunday that her person had come the day before, but no one was home. The dog walker had left a card to confirm she had come by, but Margot wasn't sure it was the right house. How unprofessional to send your employee out without the information needed to find the house. I know they didn't come to our house as my mother didn't leave the house all weekend, due to the cold weather and her inability to travel without assistance. Even if my mother didn't hear them knocking, the dogs would never have allowed someone to come to the door unnoticed. Two dogs barking and running to the door is better than any door bell. Also, no card was ever found at the door. No one came and no other effort was made to walk our dogs that day, eventhough Margot admitted knowing about the situation soon after it happend. Also, I only received a text message on the first day. No other confirmation of service was ever received. Another promise not kept. My lab mix is a hyper spaz. If she's not walked daily, the evening time can be unbearable. Watching her fidget all night can be quite tiresome. Also, my mother was unable to play with her in the back yard, due to her disability. I didn't want my mother to have to worry about my dogs. Which is why I hired Dog Gone Walking. No one ever called on Saturday to let us know what happened. No communication was received until Margot showed up on Sunday, talking about how she had to get home before the Niners game started. Very hurried and distracted. She did apologize for Saturday, but I feel it was too little too late. Margot was nice and all, but that's not the point. NO ONE CAME ON SATURDAY. AN EPIC FAIL OF SERVICE AND A BREACH OF THEIR BS 9-PAGE CONTRACT. I do not recommend Dog Gone Walking, as they let my family down and left my mother to deal with the aftermath of their inability to deliver the services they were hired to perform. Unprofessional and that 9-page contract is a joke. The BBB and Angie's List can refer you to better companies. By the way, this company isn't listed on either of these services. Also, the only other review on Yelp! has the same first name as the Dog Gone Walking assistant that sent me the 9-page contract. Hmmm. I am kicking myself for not doing more research before hiring this company. Go elsewhere for your animal's care. read more

I can't say enough great things about Margot and her service. My dog Murphy is an older dog and needs a little more TLC as a result. Margot always sends me pictures to let me know that Murphy is doing well. She is consistently on time so I feel very comfortable leaving Murphy with her. My wife and I recently had to go out of town for Easter and she was able to work with our schedules to make sure that Murphy was well taken care of in our house. I have also had a few times where both my wife and I have had to be out late in the day and she was able to feed him without any problems at the last minute. I have used other dog walkers and kennels without any success. She is certified to give Murphy his medicines including shots which I have not seen anywhere else. It is also comforting to know that she is licensed bonded and insured which shows me she is serious about her business. Margo takes care of all my animals needs. She is amazing. Her and her staff adore my animals and shower them with love and care. She walks my dog weekly. Her and her staff have also cared for my cats when I am away. She also boarded my dog and communicated daily. She sends photos every visit to let me know when my dog has gone for a walk. I would give Margot and her family ZERO stars if I could! I think she has just moved the business to a family one because she has so many bad reviews. Unfortunately I must write one too. When her and her mother walked my pup while I was at work there didn't seem to be any problems. It was when I let her stay over while I was out of town the problems happened. My first trip out of town when I came home my door was left unlocked. There were clothes and dirty dishes left out in my apartment. I found a dirty dish with food still on it in my cabinet with the clean dishes. See picture below. For some unknown reason I let her watch my pup again while I was out of town. Again she left her stuff out. She ate my food and drank my alcohol. She finished a bottle of my vodka and drank 2/3 of a $70 bottle of wine. She immediately threw her mother under the bus. Then she said she didn't understand why this only happened when she was staying thereI confronted her again and she claimed that I had never paid her even though on multiple occasions I had offered. She finally asked for money because I fired her and was moving. She's a disaster. Don't let her or her mother into your house or apartment. I even got a camera to keep an eye on her. read more

I wanted to take the time to write a review about Dog Gone Walking. Margot and her team started watching my Bax almost a year ago now and he LOVES going to Doggie Daycare. He waits for Margot and her team to come get him each morning. He starts running around the door when he hears them coming and leaps like crazy when he sees her. Their facility is awesome and completely dog friendly. The entire team is friendly and they treat Bax like family. It shows to by the way he reacts!! When your pets are like your baby to you it feels amazing when someone treats them the same. Margot is reliable which makes a huge difference for me. ***Review of mobile grooming***My little guy HATES to go to the groomer. He was originally a stray, has serious separation anxiety, and initially had broken some teeth (that had to be removed) from trying to gnaw on the gates at the shelter. Going to groomers has been hit/miss. I always feel bad and end up waiting in the waiting area so he does not have to get locked in a cage and freak out. Luckily, he was rescued by a senior dog rescue, and LUCKILY there are mobile grooming services that will come to the house and give both of us the peace of mind we need to get him professionally groomed! I made an appointment with Dog Gone Walking for a mobile bath because of a great review on Nextdoor.com I had such high hopes and a recommendation from a neighbor is always promising. So bummed things didn't work out. I emailed Margot Friday, she promptly emailed back and offered me an appt Monday or Tuesday and requested address and phone number info so as to confirm the appointment. I emailed back Friday as well and said I was available Tuesday in the morning only. From here I never heard back. Monday night I emailed again asking if we were confirmed for Tuesday. I finally heard back from Margot Tuesday morning, she said she would take come by to bath my pooch between 12-2. I explained that I was only available in the morning. Then came the big audible "Uhhhh!" Followed by an annoyed sigh. Whoa, don't hold back there Margot, tell me how ya really feel. I explained that I did state that in the email. She then told me she was all booked up due to a dog show this week and I should call her Sunday to see what her availability is next week. Politely (I promise politely, sometimes I surprise myself :) I explained that the dog stinks, I'm 9 months pregnant and can't engage in bath time wrestling with the stubborn dog and that I would probably try to get him a bath elsewhere this week but would call in the future. She then asked if we were available Wednesday. Guess now she has an opening but who knows. We then agreed to a noon appointment for a bath. Fast forward to Wednesday and much like Valentine's Day circa 1996, I was left staring out the window for my date. No one likes to be stood up. I waited until 1:30 thinking maybe I misunderstood and she was again giving me the 12-2 window but did decide to call at 1:30p, phone went straight to VM. I left a message asking if we were still on for the dog bath. Crickets. Again so bummed because I've been wanting to venture into the world of mobile grooming after the Petsmart incident and I'm sad to say it didn't work out. I found Margot to be rude, unprofessional and annoyed by her own way of doing things yet somehow this was frustration expressed at me. I've held off on writing this negative review since thanksgiving of last year because I HATE writing negative things, but our story needs to serve as a warning when trusting a person with your pets. We live in a apartment complex in San Bruno where we heard dogs gone walking services a lot of dogs in the complex. So we called and the rates were great for walks and overnights for my 2 dogs. After initial talks Margot seemed like my hero to help take my 2 pain in the butt dogs out for potty breaks on nights I would be getting home later after work. The first few weeks seemed great. I loved getting pics from Margot confirming walks. Then I happened to be home sick on a day I had scheduled for walks (20 minute as promised) and 2 young boys come in and quickly take them out to go potty and are back in less than 5 minutes. I ask if something happened or they are coming back later, they said no. I texted Margot asking why this short walk happened when we pay for 20 and sometimes 30 minute walks. She apologized and blamed it on schedules and new trainees. I forgave buy set up a baby cam to monitor that I was getting my money's worth. My trust was broken but again, she had the best rates and it was necessary to prevent accidents so we continued. Let's just say it didn't get much better. Lots of cancellations and excuses, she NEVER brought the grooming van around, countless texts or emails gone without reply, often saying she lost her assistant and is frantic and sorry. I felt bad for her but at the same time, these dogs and my money need proper attention too. November was the breaking point. While going out on a Friday night, we had her scheduled for a walk and feed around 6-8 window. Around 6 she texts me asking to call as soon as I could. I called as I left the office and listened to her tell me a story. She asked if I saw the news about the murder in the complex and that she was mad they had people living in that unit already and she was in there today and got a glass of water and cut her self when the glass broke. So she went to the manager and wanted to report the incident and the manager accused her of using drugs or being drunk. And this greatly offended her. She then said security had been following her and she asked when I would be home. I asked why... She said so she could lay low and play with the dogs until they stopped following her. Being in San Francisco on the way to a surprise party.. I coils the really say no.. So I said sure we'll be home by 9. I was worried but proceeded with my plans. Came home To a weird scene. There was a pen cracked in 2 on my kitchen counter. Black ink smeared on my toilet, 2 gatorades from my fridge drank, chocolate wrappers from my freezer left on the floor and counter, dog pee on my floor with paper towels laid on top of and left there,My slider was unlocked and the creme de la creme- amongst my bed sheets- her copy of my HOUSE KEY! So then I had to think wtf happened and if my door was even locked! We had her scheduled for an overnight for thanksgiving just the next week on the books for weeks. We email and text asking for a call and more information about this "murder". Which by the way there wasn't one. Nothing even close. Our parents are cops, we checked. I emails saying We needed to talk and we had her key which she'll be needing if she stayed. We GOT NO ANSWER. We ended up bringing the dogs with us and she had the balls to text me the day after she was supposed to watch them asking to confirm time to start her shift. When I told her she missed it yesterday no reply. We had no further contact or explanation. This woman has some issues. Beware. I feel like I trusted the wrong person. Also I'd like to add we had property damaged- hidden and later found (a violin destroyed and unrepairable) and prescription pain killers go missing during the time of service. Such a disappointment that something ended up so terrible. If you use her services, get a camera and be careful. read more

The groomer for this business did a great job twice grooming my standard poodle but the next time no one showed up. The owner, Margo King, was very difficult to contact. When I ultimately succeeded she told me that her groomer was ill and would not be available for 1-2 weeks. She said she would call me in a couple of days to reschedule but never did so. I eventually decided to call the groomer directly only to find that she had not been sick but had moved out of town. Past reviews about excellent grooming are no longer valid. Past reviews on poor communication and failure to show up remain valid. Caveat Emptor! read more

We've been using Margot and Dog Gone Walking for the past 5 months. Margot and her team and very attentive to our dog, are available at a moment's notice and treat our pup like one of her own. We receive daily updates with pictures, even when its just a 30 min walk. Our dog has stayed with Margot during the Christmas break and we trust her completely.
