If you can see the main vet he is the most experienced. My boarding kennel speaks highly of him, and in their business they know vets! I drive out of my way to take my kitty here. This vet has pioneered the way in not over-vaccinating animals and on my first visit what was to be an expensive general anaesthetic and teeth clean from my old vet was a bit of a scrub and problem solved with this one. The reason I give it 3 stars and not 4 is that if you aren't seeing the main vet, you are seeing an agency one and this can be a bit hit and miss with their bedside manner. The bottom line is though that they really care for the animals and try not to overcharge, this is what has kept me coming back over the past 8 years.

I didn't want a show clip for a price she couldn't give me so I said that I wanted him to "look like a Bedlington" and that I wanted him "tidy". The end result was sloppy. I couldn't believe that any groomer would chop away at the coat so that chunks were actually missing in places. The ears and tail were not even touched so her lack of comprehension or hearing was evident as I had clearly said "keep the head and face as is" and "don't shorten the tassels" .. but if she had any pride in her work or knowledge at all , she would have known to trim the ears and tail. They are extremely ragged and untidy. City groomers do the entire job in two hours for $100. Kristen at Sassy Dog took three hours to present a very bad job, an unhappy dog and charged $100! I would post photos here if I could. I wouldn't have posted this at all except for her extreme rudeness to me. If she had just accepted my message and photos the next morning you wouldn't be reading this but she called me to argue rudely and arrogantly. She even tried to blame the previous groomer!! I had no intention of ever going back but she made sure she let me know I wouldn't be welcome before hanging up in my ear. I didn't bother telling her that she clearly lacked the ability and knowledge to style a Bedlington or that she obviously gave my dog a bad experience because he was tail down, curled up tight in his bed and refused to get up until the next day!

I did not try the dog food, but I have it on the authority of small pooch (who thoroughly enjoys licking his genitals) that it goes alright! So if you are concerned about your dog getting the raw end from the 'corporate machine' or the 'mans best friend mafia', get on to this place. The store also stocks doggie doors, squeeze toys and many other K9 related accessories that will make Rex look and feel dead sexy. I buy her the best dog food I can find - sometimes I think she is provided with food better than what I buy myself. And yet she just looks at it, sniffs, and walks off. Then ten minutes later, she's chewing on the 'delicious' treats she's found when she has raided the kitty litter tray. I mean, WTF? But the food I've bought here she'll actually eat. She hasn't farted too much worse than she did before. I think time will tell about how good the food really is. Most of my pet experience is with cats, and you can really tell when they're eating good stuff, but it takes awhile to show a visible effect. I'm hoping that it's the same with dogs, and that she'll have a really nice clear coat after eating this stuff for awhile. I'll report back in a couple of months.

No he hates it because EVERY time we are in the Mall together, I drag him down those well trodden stairs to go down and look at the puppies/kittens/whatever animals they have in there at the time. I daresay I am not alone in this mission and I think it would definitely be a popular spot for other Rundle shoppers to de-stress for a little and make baby voices at tiny animals. To be fair, as I don't have a pet (can't have one in a rental property) I have never actually bought anything from there although I have been tempted many times by the sweet little faces that look out at you from behind the glass. I am also kind of against pet stores because I believe there are plenty of animals at the RSPCA who have had hard lives and need some love. And you don't need to pay around $800 for them.... But in terms of animal perving, this is my number one stop, and there are always new puppies waiting to be squealed at joyfully!

They gave me some good advice on how to calm an insane cat I once owned. One annoying thing about the store is there alarm on the door that goes off when you enter or exit. It's a screaming high pitch screech. Terrible sound really. I can imagine it would make the animals go insane.

I brought Chester here for his annual vaccination ( proudly adopted him from the RSPCA) and John immediately took over Chester, talking to him calmly ( too cute!) and did the basic steps of taking his weight, checking his eyes, body and so forth. Booster shots given and with a clean bill of health, we finalised the necessary payment and commended Dr. John for a great consultation. The reception is usually manned by one staff who is well trained and I was extremely happy when she displayed knowledge on booster shots for adult cats. Clean and spotless premises with a great doctor and friendly staff on board.

They didn't have heaps of little/young puppies and these were the only 2 we really liked. So a lady that worked there opened the cage and let us go in with them. She came up to us stright away and was so inquisitive. So we decided to get her. Well apparently since we had a dog already we were required to go home and get our existing dog and bring it up to the RSPCA to be put inside a larger enclosure with us AND the new puppy we wanted. If all was ok THEN we could buy the dog. Well all went well and we walked out with a new puppy :-) Considering you get a desexed and vaccinated animal, and in fact mine was even microchipped (which also saves money on dog registration each year with my council) it is really cheap as there is a set price for a dog, cat and rabbit. So it doesn't matter which one you choose or what breed it is, which is great. They have an excellent website where you can view pets they have available at the shelter. They also have boarding kennels and a cattery if you have to go away. I even noticed a horse in one of the area's this time I went.

Basically Pet Zest caters for all animal food. They have a fantastic range of fresh food - which is what makes them so appealing to me. All their food is hand prepared so it really is like you make it at home. Just made by someone else.
