It gives your canine friend a pack to run and play with as well as a present and accountable human being who acts as the top dog for the whole time your pooch is placed here. This top dog human means no fights break out because there is always a masterful guiding voice keeping tabs on who is doing what to whom. It really is a great service if you don't want to leave the dog home every day but have a busy life and can not find the time to keep your precious pooch as pampered and busy as yourself. Let's say you own a big dog that needs a lot of exercise, but you also have a demanding job that sees you at work almost twenty four seven some times. What happens to the dog? Well it may get bored and start to behave badly as a result - but if you drop it off at Dogcity Daycare it will be busy socialising with other dogs. And the experience I had was amazing! Dropping Harold off to the care of strangers is a little nerve-racking as Bulldogs have special needs, however the friendly team at Dogcity let me know that he was in safe hands and that I would receive updates during the day, reassured, I left feeling confidant Harold was going to have a great day! The energy and excitement in the centre was amazing, you could really tell that these people love what they do. Before I left for work, I had a look through the viewing window and Harold was already running a muck with his new friends. The thing that took this experience from good to brilliant, was the level of personalised communication I received. During the day, "Harold" sent me a text message with some photos of his new friends (who knew dogs had such skills!): Hi Mum, My new friends have let me borrow the work phone so that I could send you a message; I told them that I'm fine and would rather keep playing, but they've said that it's always important to let Mum's know. Apparently you guys worry about us or something. I'm having the best time. Heston is here and we've both been body slamming. They have a bunch of tennis balls here too, so I've been slobbering over all of those and carrying them around. There are two Huskies, Ace and TJ, who like playing with tennis balls also, so we've been having a great time together. I hope you're having a good day, but I doubt it's as fun as mine - ha! Overall, there are a few things that made this experience one that truly stand out, these people LOVE what they do and they make their customers feel so valued with the personalised communication. We own two Lakeland Terriers who, to keep their coats looking like they should, need to be hand stripped. This is a time consuming and tedious process often not carried out by dog groomers. When we moved back to Adelaide on the hunt for a dog groomer, these guys were more than open to hand stripping and the groomer even called us to find out more info before we booked them in. When we arrived, they knew exactly who we were and introduced themselves to our dogs. They required vaccination certificates and took time to learn about their habits before introducing them to other dogs. I should let you know, hand stripping is done in stages because it takes so long and the dogs becomes restless. Therefore, in between grooming sessions, our dogs used the daycare facility. When we picked Jasper and Quin up, they were happy, perky and didn't seem at all distressed. The groomer came out to let us know how they went and we discussed a long term grooming plan. We've been back a couple of times since and simply can't fault them. Anywhere our dogs pull on their lead to get into must be fun for them. I am 100% comfortable leaving our dogs in their care.

So enthusiastic and make a big fuss about your pooch when you walk in. Plenty of staff around all areas watching dogs at all times. You can even pop in during the day to check on your pup to see how he/she is going. It's a little pricey, but you are giving your dog a treat, it's great for socialising the and getting rid of energy. My dog is tired the whole next day just from playing with the other dogs. P.S the daycare also make cute montage videos of the dogs playing and upload it to the website and also take photos of the dogs around Xmas time and make little cards.

Having an Italian greyhound means ALOT of money goes in to weird niche dog things the breed needs, one of which is a special tooth gel. Long story short I saved myself a good thirty dollars because this store is the only one in Adelaide that randomly carries it so five stars for getting in super niche things essential to particular breeds. But what REALLY impressed me was the knowledge the staff had, they let us know about the puppy school they host which was under $100 for five classes (something most other dog stores don't do), gave me loads of tips about introducing my two dogs, tips about the breed and best yet they didn't pressure me to buy any dumb little add-ons at the counter (because like all pet owners we spend our rent money on stacks of dog toys as it is). I am an animal person, in fact many have referred to me as an animal myself (Like a TIGER, rrrrooooowl!). As I write this yelp one of my Cats (Samurai) is actually dribbling on my leg, an yet I don't throw him across the room yelling 'fly supercat', that is just how much of an animal guy I am! I often drop in to Petstock on the way home to pick up some stupidly expensive (but scientifically formulated) cat food and also to tap on the many fish tanks! It is a huge store, encompassing everything from food, toys, living quarters (doghouses) and many things that you look at and think "who the hell would buy that for their pet....it would look great on me!" The employees are all very knowledgeable and pet lovers themselves, so they are quite able to help make decisions on what is best for your little fido, nemo or Rum Tum Tugga. Basically Pet Zest caters for all animal food. They have a fantastic range of fresh food - which is what makes them so appealing to me. I really don't have time to make the animals food all the time and it's so much easier to just buy it from here and still get fresh food. They also stock heaps of cooked food, dry food and treats. All their food is hand prepared so it really is like you make it at home. Just made by someone else.

No he hates it because EVERY time we are in the Mall together, I drag him down those well trodden stairs to go down and look at the puppies/kittens/whatever animals they have in there at the time. I daresay I am not alone in this mission and I think it would definitely be a popular spot for other Rundle shoppers to de-stress for a little and make baby voices at tiny animals. To be fair, as I don't have a pet (can't have one in a rental property) I have never actually bought anything from there although I have been tempted many times by the sweet little faces that look out at you from behind the glass. I am also kind of against pet stores because I believe there are plenty of animals at the RSPCA who have had hard lives and need some love. And you don't need to pay around $800 for them.... But in terms of animal perving, this is my number one stop, and there are always new puppies waiting to be squealed at joyfully!

So if you are concerned about your dog getting the raw end from the 'corporate machine' or the 'mans best friend mafia', get on to this place. I buy her the best dog food I can find - sometimes I think she is provided with food better than what I buy myself. And yet she just looks at it, sniffs, and walks off. Then ten minutes later, she's chewing on the 'delicious' treats she's found when she has raided the kitty litter tray. I mean, WTF? But the food I've bought here she'll actually eat. She hasn't farted too much worse than she did before. I think time will tell about how good the food really is. Most of my pet experience is with cats, and you can really tell when they're eating good stuff, but it takes awhile to show a visible effect. I'm hoping that it's the same with dogs, and that she'll have a really nice clear coat after eating this stuff for awhile. I'll report back in a couple of months.
