I had absolutely great experience with this grooming place. The front desk guy was very friendly and played with my dog when we arrived. They did great job on grooming and since it was our first visit they offered a couple things for free. Finally I found a nice place with great service. The name of this business is not very original, but spot on with what they do. Have taken our two pups there, initially to ensure their nails were trimmed and fur touched up. We used to take our miniature schnauzers here years ago but our pups passed and it had been awhile since we had needed a groomer. Rescued a pup and was taking him to a different groomer and that business closed during Covid. Read reviews, called and spoke with Eric and he was able to get our pup in quickly. He is a rescue and very shy at first but they were great with him and he looked better than he has ever. After a bit of searching and surfing through reviews, I discovered this gem of a grooming shop! It's mine and my pups first time here. He's a little skeptical of the strangers and this new place. The owners sat on the ground to greet my pup and let him sniff around to get comfortable. They let me know what the plan was and taught me how to hand him over so that he wouldn't fear them. Since this was his first visit and they didn't know what Lucky's reaction was gonna be, they informed me that they would do a quick "Face, Feet, and Fanny" type of cut. About an hour later, I get the call that he's done well and to come pick him up! We were all so pleased that he did well! I was pleased at the wonderful customer service! They even have a "stamp card" for every bath or groom. When you reach ten stamps, you get a free grooming! You MUST check this place out for your fur-child. read more

Take your dog here! Dog Grooming Shop will do a great job on your dog. They love your pet - or at least you feel like they do when you are dropping them off. We have a dog who, if his hair gets too long, gets mats in his fur. We didn't know that when we first got him and let his hair get too long. When they returned our dog to us, he looked like a new man. We got more than one compliment about his 'do. You are required to drop off before 10 and then they call you when they are done. They want you pick up when they are done. Generally they have been done around 1. We have never had a dog groomed before so I have no frame of reference on cost. I will say we don't feel inclined to look anywhere else because they do such a great job! Their location is on Davis, north of 20. Exit Lamar and then head west. Eric has worked with my senior pups who have special needs when it comes to their nails. He is patient and kind to them, and obviously loves them. He always tries to fit us in for the trims in the early afternoon- not their "rush hour", so less stress on everyone. I took my Australian Shepherd mix rescue dog for a bath on the recommendation of my vet's office. Jake doesn't love the blow dry, but Eric went slowly and made him feel comfortable. He also ground down Jake's nails when he saw Jake had an aversion to the clippers. Basically, he just made this a pleasant experience, and the bath and brush were perfect. Very helpful, nice, and they didn't keep her all day long nor charge me a rush fee. She is my service dog so I get charged anywhere from 10.00 to 25.00 more to have her back in 4hrs. I've had my dogs groomed before, but I have never had the safe feeling when I dropped my babies off to Eric. He was so gentle trying to get them in the cage you could feel his patience. Now before I went I read all the reviews but I didn't see any that talked about the regular grooming! My two babies (one 11 year old German Shepard mix and the other a 3 year old whippet mix) my shepard had so much EXTRA hair that you could get another dog from her! LOL My whippet can't hold still long enough to get a bath. Neither of them will allow me to touch their paws! he was able to get them let him clip their nails! He is the dog whisper :) Eric was amazing, He told me they should be done @ 11:30 but when 11:30 came I didn't hear from him. So I was going to call @ noon to find out when they would be ready for pick up. At 11:32 Eric took the time to call me and let me know they were running behind (he knew I had a tight schedule that day) It was perfect, instead of me sitting around or having to make that call to find out he reached out! Then when I went to pick them up there was not a hair on my Shepard which I have never seen nor did I think it could be done! They both looked great and smelled amazing! I love this place and I like everyone else am very picky as to who touches my miniature Australian Shepherd. He's really stand-offish when it comes to new people and especially men. This Shop is amazing I love the people and the awesome job that they do. I have never had an issue with getting an appointment. I've been bringing Bandit here for more than a year now and will not go anywhere else. When I first took my Aussie to them, I asked for them to give him an extremely short summer cut because that is what the previous salon, we went to would do for the previous summers. Eric let me know that this breed should not be cut that short because they have 2 layers of hair and it could affect their sensitive skin and possibly not grow back as it should. Right then I knew this was the place for us. Not only that Eric tries to give Bandit a treat when we are leaving but of course he is shy that he will not take it for either one of us but like I said he is stand-offish. But I can tell he's not stressed out or anything such as that and he will go back with Eric when he takes him. I'm Blessed that I found this place right off the bat and didn't have to go through any horror stories. I definitely recommend the Dog Grooming Shop. read more

They do an adequate job with bathing but terrible at trimming dog nails. Been going there because it's a few blocks from my home. However, Eric the owner, can have bitchy/prima-donna attitude. Just not worth having to deal with someone like that just to get my dog bathed and nails somewhat trimmed. Too many dog grooming shops around that do a much better job and are more customer focused. They do a great job of educating you on what's the best haircut for your dog (such as why a certain breed should NOT be shaved down in the summer months even if it would make them money to just go ahead and do it). This place is amazing! From the time I brought my dog I in we were welcomed and greeted by Eric who is SO incredibly kind and knowledgeable. They called me shortly after dropping my dog off to ask about his eye, (he has dry eye) and to ensure I knew he had some tissue damage. While aware, I have NEVER had a groomer call and alert me. I was so grateful they called to confirm and let me know in the event that I needed to call my vet. His cut was perfect and they even gave him an adorable bandana. Just tried this place out this past week for our pet, Piper. She hadn't been groomed for a while and she was getting some bad mattes especially on her legs and neck but my wife and I really didn't want to get her shaved because we like her longer hair. After bathing her the owner called and told me she would likely need a really short cut to get rid of all the mattes, and asked if I wanted to proceed. He also stated that he and he groomer would do their best to keep her hair that wasn't matted as long as possible. They did a great job with her hair And kept it quite a bit longer than her previous cut. We are really happy with the way she looks now and we will definitely keep taking her back. He also recommended a regular grooming plan to help keep her from getting mattes in the first place. We really appreciated the advice and the phone call ahead of time rather than just shaving her like our previous experience Elsewhere. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I was searching for a dog groomer through yelp and read wonderful reviews. When I called after hours the answering machine was even excited and upbeat leading me to leave an upbeat message. When I took my fur baby to drop him off the owner, Eric, immediately took him and held him as if he were his own as we discussed cut and pick up details. My boy was perfectly content with this situation and was happy and scar free upon my return to pick him up. He was gorgeous! He came in looking homeless and came out looking like Joan Rivers pooches! Will be taking my other babies because they deserve to look beautiful too. No more home cuts! I only put four stars because it can always be better. Just a rule I have.
