Bow Wow Billie's is amazing! I can't believe I didn't know about this place sooner...I've been driving 20 minutes each way for dog grooming when this is only about 5 minutes from me. I found them through Nextdoor reviews and booked via text, which was super easy. They were friendly, responsive, and I was able to get an appointment quickly, not months out like a lot of places. I have three dogs, and they were able to schedule all of them together, which was a huge plus. They run things really efficiently. You're given a specific drop-off time, so the dogs aren't sitting in cages all day. Then they text you when your dogs are ready which is usually within a few hours and give about a one-hour window for pickup, which is very convenient. They are open so many days even on Sundays. My dogs looked amazing...so fluffy, clean, and well-groomed. You can tell they take pride in their work. I also noticed that other customers clearly know and trust them, which says a lot. The owner is incredibly kind, and the staff is just as friendly. This has been exactly what I was looking for in grooming, a place close to home that does just as good (if not better) of a job as the one I was driving far to. We'll definitely be back! read more

I have been a customer of Billie's shop for 7-8 years, and there is no where else I recommend for pups. Let me start with my experience and rave about their services. And I'll conclude with dispelling some of the possible falsehoods listed in some of the reviews that aren't very positive because I'll admit that im disappointed to see so many "1 star" reviews, mostly from people who came 1 time. So--first--my experience over the last 7-8 years let's the same pups (now 8 and 9 years old, both started going at 1 and 2 years old when I adopted them)--Billie herself is always very kind and welcoming. Though there is a lot of background noise (exactly what you should expect from an open and visible grooming salon), the staff always greeted us kindly and took my puppies to their respective kennels. What I liked immediately about this grooming slain is that I could clearly see my dogs at all times; they are only taken to the back when they need baths snd are drying, which is not the case in almost every other grooming salon (private or commercial like PetSmart). This was always incredibly helpful to me and my dog who has severe anxiety thanks to a PetSmart experience; at least with Billie, I can clearly see what is happening at all times should I wish to stay there through the entire process. My pups were not the best behaved at first, which for anyone with dogs knows that the character bad temperament of their dogs plays a huge role in how they are received anywhere. My pups used to bite the hands of the groomer, and the only way we worked through that was through communication with the groomers. training at home to help decrease their sensitivity, and going back consistently to get them groomed. My pups were always well taken care of at this location, and they always came out looking adorable. Billie and her groomers have always been accommodating (within reason) to me--for example, if I needed help walking the pups out after my baby was born, she always helped me with that. Like with any service, it's important that we as clients show up on time for drop off and pick up and understand what type of service we are asking for --obviously, it's loud with barking dogs, but I always found it so welcoming and sweet to see so many sweet puppy faces. Anytime I walked in to drop off my pups or pick them up, I never once saw any other dog being "man handled"--if anything, Billie and her staff are the most patient groomers I've seen in the metroplex (I can say this because I tried several before I found her and we moved 6 months ago and are over an hour drive away and I've had to find other groomers...and I'm considering making the drive back to her because I haven't found a place as good as hers). Some folks complained about the prices or their expectations not being met, and I can say with a clear conscience that I've been around long enough to this salon to see pet parents come in with very well maintained dogs (dogs who are clearly bathed and brushed and cared for at home on a regular basis) and those that come in with dogs who have so much matting that it hurts me to look at the dogs. So, I caution people who read the bad reviews to consider the possibility that some clients brought in a dog maybe once and they clearly were unable to take care of their dog at home and/or had experienced the same time of "issues" elsewhere not because of the services rendered rather by their inability to properly care for their dogs. Billie and her groomers have always and will always side with what is best for the dog (not necessarily the human), and I 100% respect that. Needless to say, we miss Billie and her grooming salon so much. I can't recommend any other groomer in the Arljngton/ GP/Mansfield and surrounding area more than I do her. read more

My dogs have been groomed on a monthly basis for 10 years now, I just moved from another city and tried this place for my first time. To start- The front desk lady was not kind or welcoming to myself or my dogs. She never even acknowledged them and drug them to the back with the leashes. Second- When getting my dog (shiba Inu) back, he walked out with hair still piled all over him (which flew off with a few brushes of my hand).. it looked like there wasn't even an attempt of brushing or blow drying. She claimed "he did not like the blow dryer or brushing" but the hair could've been easily brushed off with a friendly pet. I've never had an issue at any place for 10 years of monthly grooming so i have a hard time believing "he didn't like it too much". She then proceeds to tell me she charged me for it anyways, despite one sentence prior saying she "couldn't really do it because he didn't like it". Then my shih tzu came out next. It took over 5 hours for him to be done and he was shaved bald afterwards, they cut his ears all the way and clearly had ZERO experience or awareness of what a shih tzu looked like and to top it off the nails were still so long. I do not recommend this place. I walked away VERY UPSET. Despite my frustration the front desk lady had nothing to say. Customer service is not that hard, people make mistakes. Own it. Do not bring your fur babies here! They are aggressive and inconsiderate with your babies! Their website mentions how they care and what not and after my experience today, never again. The website mentions baths are first come first serve. We came around noon and they didn't even bother with us. They mention free nail trimmings on Tuesday, so we were like "okay sure let's do that and a bath." And my dogs are always nice, never EVER in their life or mine have they even attempted to bite anyone. But the lady trimming my dogs nails was so aggressive and rough that she hurt my babies and to a point where my dogs almost tried to bite her. Mind you, my dogs loooooves getting groomed. They literally love baths and manicures and hair trims. It was my first and last time here. I'll never ever even recommend this place. People if you love your pets this is NOT the place for them. Heard really good things about this place and how they handle big dogs, but was really disappointed with how our dog was treated. We have a very sweet 60 lb german shepherd mix and came in for a nail trim. Our dog is very anxious about nail trimmings and we thought this place would handle her well. Once we got there they muzzled her without even petting her or attempting to calm her down, then just almost put her in a chokehold (which isn't smart with a scared large dog) on the ground by the door in able to hold her still. At this point my dog is thrashing around and bumps into the face of the person holding her. Visibly angry and without even attempting the trim they say they are unable to do anything and walked away. Would have been nice if they were kind to her (and us) or even pet her, but a really bad way of handling a very anxious large dog and would not recommend this place if your dog hates nail trims. *Updated to include response from owner* We never said our dog snapped in the past. Sometimes, good things come to an end. I and my family used to love this place. I initially chose Bow Wow Billies because they are LGBT friendly, and the staff was always so inviting and patient and gave that home type feeling. Even when my fur baby passed away , 2 years ago, they were very warm. UPDATE. The last couple of times I have been here , the employees have rolled their eyes at me and my fur baby. They complained because my new fur baby, who is still a puppy, was biting and displayed behavior as any uncomfortable puppy would, which is new to grooming. Billie then told me "well it starts at home." I felt this comment was extremely rude and I brought it to Billies attention. Billie immediately deflected from what I asked and told me that my dog was "just bad" and would be that way for years. During this time my puppy started barking while she was in the kennel and then the staff rolled there eyes and made rude gestures and sounds towards me and my fur baby. Not to mention her haircut wasn't what I asked of and her nails weren't cut/trimmed properly. I reached out again(not sure why I didn't learn the first time) to schedule an appointment and try again, by getting my puppy used to grooming. Billie replied to my appointment text with a text saying she was "hurt" by me expressing my concerns before and our previous "encounter". I would not use this business again. These "5 star/great" reviews are possibly fabricated or from people that "fit the vision". In short. Rude customer service. Even from the owner. No room to express concerns. The dogs get "report cards" like they're at school. (Which was the reason I thought it would be okay to discuss) what is the point of a report card if there cannot be feedback. After also being accused of calling them "liars". Overall Very unprofessional and unpleasant. I'm very disappointed that I'm even having to write this review. We didn't have a great experience! Nothing was communicated to us, and we felt blindsided when our 45 pound Sheepadoodle came out looking shaved and then the $150 bill later! It wasn't what I had asked for and I never was given the expectations! There were extra expenses not communicated beforehand. He came back home after sitting in a cage for 3 hours before they even started his grooming . She had no issues with him and when I picked him up (around 3:30 pm) he was so handsome and fluffy! Finally- a place where I can take my fur babies where they will be treated like family- suck it, Petsmart!!! After a rage induced rant after an employee at petsmart being downright rude and unprofessional while she didn't realize I could hear, I've been looking for a new groomer. My aunt was a vet and I spent most of my childhood in her office, so I know that a dog is a dog- you shouldn't judge one based on their breed. Billie gets it too. You can rest assured your baby will be treated like family while they are getting primped and pampered. The store front is small, I've been to that shopping center multiple times and never noticed it, even though it's right in the center. Inside is pretty simple- a fairly large waiting area with one long counter and a doggie gate. Its all open and you can see a row of cages along the right and the grooming stations on the left. They were hacking mounds of hair off of a fuzzy shitzu when I brought in Kiba. I was greeting happily by Billie, who is pretty slender, and I was worried my mini horse of a dog would drag her around. I was wrong, Billie knows how to handle dogs. I had no hesitation leaving him to get all fresh and clean. Whatever products she uses are fantastic, Kiba has never shined and smelled so good. She must have given him an industrial brushing too, I haven't had to sweep mounds of hair up since I brought him home. Not to mention her prices are, for the lack of a better word, cheap! Please Read entire thing! Took my dog to get groomed 09/03/2022. Staff called and said was unable to trim nails due to my dog being scared and "aggressive". I found it odd because Sadie is not aggressive. Sadie was not excited to see me. Custom infront of me held her dog while gentlemen cut their nails. After I paid I asked if I were to assist with the nail trim would it be able to be done since I was charged for a FULL service. He said it would not be a problem. First front paw was trimmed second front paw I assisted with the nail trim. Once we get to the back leg I noticed her nail bleeding. I asked the employee why was she bleeding he said he didn't know. He said he can put some medicine to stop the bleeding. He applied the mustard colored powder on her injured nail. I sated no wonder she didn't let you near her nails you guys hurt her. He apologized said he would call the person who groomed them since she had just gone home for the day and will have manager/owner call me for an update. I never got a call I assumed they were busy. I called on the following Tuesday and was told by staff I would get a call because the owner was not there at the moment. I am a busy nurse I work 8am-5pm. I finally had time to follow up today about the situation. I spoke with the owner she hung up on me. I kept calling back and would only get voicemail. I had to call from a different phone number in order to get owner back on the phone. Owner said I am lying and said she was unaware of the incident and is refusing to take accountability and issue a refund even though I have picture evidence and photos with time stamps. Please don't go here. I don't appreciate being treated like this. There was no professionalism especially from the owner. The owner still texted me after she stated over the phone there would be no refund. Owner interrupted me at every word. I couldn't even get a word in. First time visit and I'm really bummed out. I came in and wasn't greeted by any of the 4 employees working. I smiled at two of the ladies and neither of them returned the gesture. No one looked happy to be there. I had previously texted and asked about a bath and a trim and was told I could do a walk-in. When I got there, they said they were booked, but I got baths anyway. I brought my dogs' vet paperwork, as I was also told they would need proof of rabies vaccinations. No one asked to see it. I should have left at that point. I felt bad so I just went along. The person who helped me was pretty deadpan most of the conversation, but was loving toward my dogs when I handed them over, so I felt reassured. I got text notifications when my 2 dogs were done, which was 30 minutes after I got a confirmation text for the appointment....which was after I had already dropped them off. I was also disappointed to pick them up because the charge was $25 each. I was quoted $20 for a bath, but was so flustered because there was so much commotion and noise going on - a woman in the lobby had 2 loose dogs walking around, one of them had pooped. The 3rd dog was having his nails clipped in the lobby and the poor girl who was doing it was struggling because of the commotion as well. There were several small dogs in cages, just barking incessantly. None of the other workers acknowledged me and one was just on her phone. She actually looked up after I had been standing there for some time, still saying nothing. Then, a few moments later asked if I was there to pick up. I said, "yes," and she still sat there!! Why bother asking? Finally, the girl who was clipping dogs nails got up and helped me. My ears and brain were overwhelmed and I wanted get out of there. My dogs started barking once they saw me so I asked if she could just let them out. The girl totally ignored my question and I felt frustrated and embarrassed because my one dog wouldn't stop. Normally, they are in a back area, or at my old groomer, they come up to the front for me to look at, then I pay. I didn't get a chance to look at them, check their nails, or get asked if everything looked OK. I've never just had my dogs get baths only, usually they get a full groom, so they didn't look as nice as normal, but I still feel jipped as I was told they could have a groom and on top of that, the price was higher than normal. Picked him up, and asked the cashier how he was she said great, just released him into the customer area so we could put his collar and leash on. On the way home I notice that his nails were not done. When I call to ask what services he received I am told that they didn't do his nails, because his tried to bite. Put on hold, Billie comes on to tell me that they could not do his nails, and were too busy when I picked him up to tell us. Then she tells me that the cashier just forgot to tell us. And what did I expect her to do. Well, I expect you to tell me that one of the services I am paying for is not done before I pay. If there is a problem let me know, I am not unreasonable. This grooming place deserves no stars if it was possible. These people shaved my little fur baby bald without so much as an apology. When I dropped him off for his usual haircut ($30.00) I asked them to trim his nails as well ($10.00) the guy said he has a little Matt on his hind legs but how do you want him cut. I asked them to cut him his usual (he usually has a half to a whole inch of hair)but I asked them to cut his face shorter because it tends to grow faster. They texted me to pick him up & I didn't even recognize my support animal. He was literally bald & they demanded $60.00 or they would take my baby to the impound. I called the police & they said it was nothing they could do.
