We are visiting the area from Mammoth Lakes. I called on a whim hoping they would have time to take my pup! She happened to have a cancellation that had just happened and I was 5 minutes away so we were able to get in! She greeted us with a smile and was very sweet from the get go. I am a helicopter dog mom and I don't like my dog to be stressed out. She let me walk my dog back to where she was staying while she was waiting to get washed. I really appreciated that! Sasha Fuzzy Butt needs her anal glands squeezed (which is why I take her to the groomer). I had a list of other things I wanted done, including shaving her butt, her fur in between her toes, and shortening her really long tail feathers. She said she would do all that and trim her nails and clean her ears too! What!! How awesome is that!! She also gave me a report card along the way to let me know how she is doing. Then, when I came to pick Sash sent me pics of her when she was done! Everything I asked for to be done was done!! Good job. Maybe a little to short in length, but that's okay. Problem was the nail clipping situation... nails were still too long. Cheryl tried using a rotary nail file, but my dog' nails were still too long. I offered to hold him down and assist her so she could CLIP his nails, but ... she said she can handle it... Other than that, nice work. Grooming dogs is hard work, I know. I tried it on my own and it's difficult, especially trying to bathe dogs in the bath tub... tried the nail clipping... but needed another person to hold him down, so he wouldn't jerk... FORGET IT! Cheryl at Dog Stylez is great and does a good job grooming the fur short. I used to have my former dog's nails done at Animal Samaritans, and even the nurse, clipped one nail too short, and my dog had blood coming out, nothing too serious, only my former dog had a psychological fear of nail clippings. I'm currently looking for a mobile groomer that comes to my place so I can periodically check up on my dog in the mobile truck... read more

The owner paid NO attention to my phone or in person instructions not to mention the half dozen pictures that I showed her. She cut off 3 INCHES too much hair ! I did not even recognize my own dog. she looks terrible now !!! I hope this woman goes out of business. That would be KARMA ...I have a half Maltise and it is VERY important that their eyes are not exposed to full light. She shaved her whole head. This woman is incompetent. I am turning the owner in to the BBB. I see she also paid/bartered people to give a couple 5 star reviews to her own page as soon as I left this review ... This goes against Yelp guidelines. Cheryl is the best! We had a very old Yorkie; he was blind and deaf but she and her staff were so gentle and kind with him and we are forever grateful that our baby was treated as well as he was. It was our first visit to Dog Stylez with our pup, Mia, and although the reviews we read were positive, we were not expecting first-time great results to be so awesome! In the past, every groomer we've gone to has always cut off way too much, and even showing photos to the groomer beforehand have not ended well. Cheryl listened, and understood, and the end result was FABULOUS! Since it was just prior to Thanksgiving, she was extra extra busy, and took way longer than normal, it was so worth it! Let me start by saying Cheryl is amazing and I'm so thankful I finally found her.... Backround; my 6 year old maltipoo used to LOVE going to the groomer every couple months. That all changed a year ago when he was stuck in a crate for 6-8 hours, shaved to his skin with bleeding and severely dehydrated. He was shaking and was sick for a week straight and emotionally traumatized for a month. When the time came to groom again, the groomer couldn't even touch him and then the 3rd time she couldn't either. Both times he came home depressed for over a week. So you can imagine this last time (Friday 3/4/23) I was so nervous for him. My dad took him for me and I came home to a normal, happy, overly playful Mackey!! She treated him the same way she would treat her own and the best part, they don't keep them in crates!!!! I'm so so so thankful for Cheryl and Dog stylz for taking such great care of Mackey! We are both looking forward to his next groom!! Also, don't listen to this one star loser below.... He doesn't know what he's talking about and is clearly one of those "one star never pleased guys" and should feel fortunate that he didn't take his dog to Claws N Paws right across the street where his dog would be tortured, and abused causing permanent damage. I was so impressed with our experience here. Cheryl and her crew were the most thorough grooming we ever had. Our Goldens were unfortunately not getting groomed very well via our mobile groomers so they needed a lot of work. They stayed open hours after their closing time to get them done. Cheryl was adamant about making sure they were groomed the right way this time. My older boy came home about 20lbs lighter! Good customer service is a thing of the past for the most part but not here, they really pride themselves on doing an excellent job. Both pups were treated amazing while there too. We will continue coming in and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic groomer. read more
