I had been looking for a groomer for my neighbor. My neighbor has problems getting around, and really needed his dog to get the works done! I called barking lot and asked if they had any appointments available. They gave me Joey's INFORMATION one of the Groomers at Barking Lot who made the time & was able to fit my neighbors dog. This was her first visit to the Groomers. I was pretty nervous about how Chanel, that's the dog's name would react to her first Groomers visit. Well, I'm glad to say that Joey was amazing with her. He did such a great job! I was so happy with how Chanel looked ... that a few weeks later I brought my 4 1/2 year-old Chihuahua Pomeranian, also known as a Pomchi. I called Joey to see if he had any thing available for the Fourth of July weekend. He was wonderful. He was able to squeeze My Mini-me first thing in the morning on the Fourth of July. Thank you so much Joey for being so accommodating but more importantly for making my Mini-Me look fabulous! Our little one needed grooming as the heat is starting to creep up in the desert. Time for a fresh short cut to cool him down. As it our first time finding a new groomer here, we found this place. Spoke with someone regarding booking and it was quite easy. They were able to get in us first thing in the morning at 9. When we got there, a little earlier there was also someone waiting with their little ones. Once we checked in, the gentlemen behind the register was the sweetest. The warm greeting and the usual detail exchanged made the process very easy. Jose was the groomer, believe that was his name. The sweetest and welcoming. The usual chit chat on what we wanted and that was that. The place looked well kept and clean. I believe you're also able to bring your pup in for a bathing as well. The quick introduction, instructions and explanation and we were on our way. It's located in a strip mall off the main strip so you could also get all your errands done. Of course some things were done while we waited. It was about an hour and half till it was time for pick up. They do text/call to let you know. The place was great and the staffs were all very friendly and professional. We did feel welcome which is alway a plus everywhere. Pricewise was good. I believe it's based on size and what services maybe needed. Obviously if certain things is needed, then additional fee is added on. Jose was a doll and very sweet. We have 2 rescue dogs and both need regular grooming. One has extreme anxiety along with long matted hair and we have been through 2 other groomers before finding Boomer at the Barking Lot. I cant say enough good things about Boomer, he was able to handle our anxious dog with patience and care and did a great job with the hair despite a lack of cooperation from the dog. I took my baby for a special haircut for her 6th birthday. Joey butchered her, flat top and uneven ears, tangled tail, deep cuts all over not even. I have been coming here for years off and on this was the worst experience ever. They said my dog had fleas and had to give her a flea bath! My baby doesn't even like to go outside, she has never had a flea in her life. The girl at the desk said she left me a message saying it would be more money, never got a message. I called as soon as I got home to please have the manager call me and am still waiting for a call this was Saturday. Joey should not be a groomer, do not let him touch your dog. With the tip it was almost $100 and I could have done a better job myself. She looks horrible! Never going back! read more

I brought in my 14-month-old Lab, who's super friendly but gets really nervous when it comes to nail trims. I worked with Boomer, who was incredibly patient and professional. He helped me hold and calm my very excited pup, and made the whole experience much less stressful. While we couldn't get all of the nails trimmed (totally the dog's fault!), I really appreciated Boomer's care and approach, and I definitely plan on going back every few months when I'm in Palm Springs. Tom......you have it all wrong. I Did take dog to vet he had a tumor removed in surgery. Then he was in recovery for all summer . He needed grooming but vet doctor saod wait. Then he got sick from all the medications. W Only Two days prior to grooming he did have loose stools but I hosed off. Very little stuck to him. But your groomer butchered him All over his bottom and body where then wasn't anything . she was negligent and reckless with my dog. There is No excuse fr this kind of grooming.After all that happened my vet suggested Vasolene because she skinned him so much.first I put bacitrician medication on him then Vasolene to heal the wounds damaged by your groomer. I will not ever recommend your place to anyone. Brenda was the best groomer you had and the same groomer was negligent. By leaving soap on floor and caused her to slip and get severely injured. Too bad she was the best groomer we went to her everywhere she worked for 10 years and she Never hurt or butchered my precious baby boy who is now suffering with cancer.The second picture is when the best groomer Brenda did the grooming. Bath time!! The Barking Lot - easy in, easy out within 30 min and without the mess to clean. We've been coming here for just about a year now. The facilities and customer service are still great. However, from my last two experiences, the machines aren't dispensing the soap well anymore. Thankfully, Rachel has been quick to respond when I've asked for soap in bottle. Even with the machines not dispensing soap well (the reason for 4 stars from 5), The Barking Lot still provides great customer service, the facility for self-wash and everything you need to do it including towels, brushes and dryer at the end. read more

Our 1st time here & Nicole at the front was so helpful. I will forever be coming here to wash my dogs . They supplied all towels, shampoos, conditioner, comb, dryer & dog cologne. I called this business because I had two little dogs who were desperate to be groomed. It had been several years since they were groomed, and the last experience, in Palm Desert was nothing short of traumatic. A gentleman answered the phone and as I explained my situation, he reassured me time and again that I was calling the right business at the right time. He assured me that they never do anything that would be unpleasant to an animal. I booked an appointment, and was given Brittney. I was very nervous as I left my dogs in her care, because I knew they would need very short cuts, something that caused great trauma in the past, with other groomers In under three hours, my two dogs were ready. I knew the minute I walked in and saw their faces that they were not traumatized. Short, cute cuts with no trauma nor injury! At last, we found our groomer! When Beau and Alex got home, they ran laps around their pool, playing like puppies, and the decided to put on their favorite sweaters. I was referred to The Barking Lot by the hotel staff where I was staying and Yelp seems to favor them as well. This place was exceptional. Loved the groomer and the work done. My friend who had her dog used the self-service wash. There was an easy choice of great shampoos, large towels for her tiny chihuahua (!!!) and the staff was helpful with questions. My dog enjoyed the blueberry facial and the scented organic oil body spray. I don't think I treat myself that well! The owner was really happy with the job when I brought him home and even tipped me! They called me after I picked my dog up and says if I can bring him back 2 days later to cut them and I did , the same tech came out & cut them both quickly , as soon as I got him home my dog was bleeding profusely so I called and got there voicemail , they did call me back (same tech) apologized and told me how to stop the bleeding which I already googled how. A hidden Gem in Cathedral City! We recently moved to the area and were looking desperately for a self wash dog station - the only other one we know of is 20 miles east and making the drive several times a month just doesn't make sense. Found this place via high reviews on Yelp and Google and thought we'd check it out. Easily one of the best and most user friendly places we've brought the dogs. Two big babies, an 8 years old rottie mix (100+ lbs) and a 2 year old pit mix (60 lbs) and they did GREAT! The raised washing stations and industrial sized blow dryers made the entire experience painless and easy. Staff is so friendly and welcoming, you can tell everything there is super passionate about what they do - especially the owner who we were lucky enough to meet! Can't wait to come back.
