I found Doggie Bonez rescue four years ago when I was looking to adopt a new furry family member. They had a good screening process and foster program. I went to go meet my now current dog at her foster house. I took her home that day. They supplied me with toys, leash, food and collar. I named her Tonka as she is my lil low-rider tough built truck. It was not always easy with her and I considered giving her back a few times. Training and dealing with a puppy is challenging, takes time and patience. I kept reminding myself I adopted her with a vow in my heart to care for her always no matter what. I went through a few trainers until I found one that worked for both of us. I put time love and patience into Tonka. I also, right off the bat got pet insurance while she was still a puppy. It is worth the 60-70 a month as it has already paid off in unexpected vet bills. Really takes the stress off. Tonka has turned out to be the most wonderful family member. She loves her cat family. Loves, loves, loves, people. She is a quiet dog, except when someone is at the door or a troubling noise. I never worry when I am sleeping, if the cats knock something over at night, if Tonka doesn't stir, I don't worry. She is a great walk buddy and a good reason to get up and get outside. No dog is perfect off the bat but if you stick with them and let them show you who they can be you will experience such devoted love. Doggie Bonez Rescue can help you make that a reality.

What a wonderful organization! I was fortunate enough to meet these incredible people while shopping in San Jaun Capistrano and couldn't help stop and see the dogs at an adoption event. I had no intentions of adopting a p dog but fell in love with one. Her name is Lucy. It takes a special kind of person, with a big heart to rescue animals and find them good homes instead of them suffering in the wild or in a high kill shelter. Lucy was and is in great health. Doggie Boenz started the vaccinations and pre-paid the remains boosters for us. They even arranged for the spaying surgery. All of the people involved are volunteers and you can easily see how much they love these beautiful animals. We can never think them enough for bringing so much joy to our home. If you are considering a pet doggie don't hesitate to contact Doggie Bonez so you can rescue a companion that will love you unconditionally!

We fostered Chewy and he immediately attached to my fam. We had a few rough patches, but have since calmed down. He's a derpy dog and is super affectionate. Doggie Bonez hooked us up with a great start kit with a leash and harness, food, bowls, and toys. They're a commendable team and truly help these doggos find their forever homes.

I have had the good fortune to foster for Doggie Bonez . My 16yr old dog passed and wanted to help other dogs in need by fostering . I had never done this before and luckily someone recommended Doggie Bonez because of their stellar reputation and dedication . The process was very straight forward, easy and communicating with Jackie has been smooth . I was able to assist with caring for a dog that needs regular medical care . They have taken care of all food/medical expenses for Ruby and I have been able to give Ruby a stable environment. They best part is some how matched me with the perfect foster dog for my family . It's been a pleasure .

I highly recommend this rescue. Our family has been looking for a perfect dog to adopt and after searching many rescues I came across doggie bonez through instagram. The owner Jacqueline was very responsive and friendly throughout my process. I first filled out a foster application, but we ended up falling in love with our dog and adopted her ! She is a 7 year old black lab/pointer mix and she is perfect. Older dogs need love too. If everyone can think about adopting versus supporting puppy mills then so many more dogs would have a chance. Overall, I love this dog rescue and would adopt more in the future.

I am a foster fail!!! and I couldn't be happier or more grateful to Doggie Bonez Rescue and Jackie. I decided to foster for the first time. Doggie Bonez provided all the support I needed and walked me through all the steps to be successful. They were patient, supportive and never pushy. Jackie was just grateful that we were helping. I am in awe at all of the dogs that they save! Jackie and Doggie Bonez are truly angels on earth! It was a wonderful experience for us and now we are the proud parents of a beautiful rescue dog. He was worth it all! If you are looking for a foster or a forever dog, I highly recommend Doggie Bonez Rescue!!! Meet Newman

This review is long overdue. I have nothing but positive things to say about doggie bonez rescue. The organization is run by Jacquie who selflessly devotes her time to finding new homes for dogs. Unlike many other rescues, she is willing to answer all of your questions and is completely upfront about any issues a specific dog may have. There is no pressure in the process. I adopted Max, a sweet, nine month old mixed breed black lab pup who sadly had never been socialized. Max was very sweet, but incredibly anxious. Jacquie connected me with a trainer who was able to work with me on this issue. With some love and work Max blossomed into an amazing dog. I can't imagine him not being a part of my life. Thank you Jacquie.

This place is amazing! They really care about the animals and placing them into homes. Thanks for the opportunity of fostering, adopting Charlie and thanks for all the amazing work you do for these animals!!!!

We had the absolute best experience finding our fur-baby through Doggie-Bonez. They genuinely care about their animals and are very good about making sure it's a good fit for pup and people. The process was easy with tons personal attention. We loved the support and communication. Highly recommend! 10/10!!!

They both jump in Daddy's chair as soon as he gets out of it. Lol.

We had been looking for two dogs that get along with each other and other dogs. San Diego's shelters have the delightful problem of a shortage of dogs needing rescue. Unfortunately, the dogs they did have none of the counselors felt would do well in multiple dog homes. So we looked outside of SD and found Doggie Bonez! Within a day, we arranged to meet two pit bull mixes. Jackie called to tell me about them and then met us at one of the pet resorts housing adoptable dogs. We first walked Toby (now Ares) and then Gypsy (now Nike); then both together. They got along fine and we brought them home. Jackie and her network of doggie saviors are doing amazing work. They take great care in understanding each pets' temperaments and fund the care of these animals solely through donations and their own money. Ares and Nike are settled in, after just a week, and having fun. Those tails wags CONSTANTLY and they just want to give us loves and kisses all the time. Doggie Bonez ask rescuers to "donate what they can afford". We'll be donating a lump sum for Ares and Nike, as well as a sustained smaller, monthly donation to help DoggieBonez continue its good works. I'd like to encourage all pet and especially pitty lovers to do the same.

So happy Doggie Bonez helped us find the perfect pup for us!

Verifying a company's 501c status is pretty straightforward since it's all public record. We looked up AWFA via both the California DOJ website (you can look them up by name or by their EIN 202331353) and the IRS's tool for nonprofits. AWFA's status with California had been revoked since 2016, due to multiple violations against the Supervision of Trustees and Fundraisers for Charitable Purposes Act and therefore they're not allowed to conduct any activity or solicit charitable assets in California. The IRS page shows that AWFA's status was revoked federally on 5/15/2021. We fostered with this "rescue" once and that was enough. The dog we fostered was injured, traumatized, and arrived with no supplies. When we expressed concerns and ultimately decided to get legal advice out of concern for the dog's safety. We stayed in contact with the rescue and requested they not contact us until after we had sought legal advice. The rescue's operator showed up at our door several hours later with local law enforcement who said they had documents establishing ownership, but which they refused to furnish for our review or verification. When one officer suggested we could "do this the easy way or..." we unfortunately relinquished possession of the dog. The dog became terrified upon seeing the rescue owner, to the extent that she lost bowel control and shook uncontrollably. This rescue is a giant red flag. Do not facilitate the harm they inflict, they should rightfully be shut down. This review is real. I am real. I did obscure my identity given this organization's history of weaponizing law enforcement.

A $45 penalty on a $25 licensing fee is excessive, and when I asked if they could offer even a one-time courtesy waiver, they were completely inflexible and uninterested in working with me. They claim they "send reminders," but I told them I never received any reminder notices, and if I had, I would have paid the licensing fee immediately. Their response was basically that it was my problem, not theirs. What's even more frustrating is that it took four years before they left a tag on my door, and then they turned around and charged me $180 in late fees. Instead of notifying residents in a timely way, it feels like they let the penalties build up and then hit you with a huge bill. This department feels more focused on collecting fees than actually helping residents stay compliant. I understand rules and licensing requirements, but there should be reasonable communication and some basic courtesy -- especially when someone is willing to pay. I am not sure how anyone with fix income can afford these type of penalties. And I am surprise why no one has attempted to stop this SCAM

I…read morenever got the chance to meet Delphine & never told by anybody at CARMA that she was adopted! I fell in love with this kitty, decided to open my heart & applied for her on March 30th! I couldn't wait to add her to welcome her to my family! She would have 6 other kitty siblings to play with & snuggle with! I waited 2 days, the sign says after you apply, somebody from CARMA will contact you in 48 hours! Huh, found out April 3rd, 3 days later at 1:43am through Adopt A pet, that Delphine was adopted & her profile removed! April 3rd at 9am I messaged them to see if that was a mistake & around 1:40pm I get a text from Tina. She said she tried to contact my manager & yes Delphine was adopted! Like yall couldn't contact me to ask about my manager? Your sign says in 48 hours you'll contact me, not my manager right away! I texted Tina back explaining about the planned power outage we had on the 2nd & that the manager's office was closed, nobody was there! Tina texted back requesting the number & the complex I live in so I did, then she texted back she'll contact her & me, both never happened! Tina lied! Besides if she was adopted, why do you need to call? I was confused & hurt! Not an apology or even suggesting another kitty! I feel like CARMA discriminated against me! April 8th I messaged CARMA & Rita Gatto responded. Again no apologies or no suggestion of another kitty, nothing, just "Well I don't know how a power outage affects the phone call" to "We're all volunteers with a day job" excuse! Well with the power outage & the manager's office being closed because of it, nobody's there to answer phones, yet you couldn't contact me? You couldn't hold Delphine until you do? You sign again says in 48 hours you'll contact the applicant to meet the kitty, not my manager right away! Yall ass backwards & screwed me out of an adoption! CARMA doesn't care about how I had decided to open my heart to Delphine & how much it hurts that they literally f***ed me over! Rita Never responded to my second email because to them, you're not allowed to be mad! I reached out to other adoption agencies & they all told me they always let applicants know that the kitty or puppy has been adopted & always suggest to come down & see another pet they may like. They never treat people coldly like CARMA did to me! When I posted my situation on social media, other people came forward with the same or similar situation. Some even said they discriminate against people with multiple pets, some say that CARMA can be very racist & also it's about adopting to rich people or people with being comfortable financially! Not people with heart or experienced cat owners like me! I faced discrimination at the last place I lived & had to move out because they didn't want me rescuing cats. I moved out after 18 years & was homeless with 7 cats & my elderly mom that I care for. We we're homeless for 4 & a half months! Most people would drop their cats off at the shelter or dump them on the side of the road! I kept us together! I took Pintobean to the vet & spent $600 on getting his bloodwork done, xrays & other things, but the vet told me he was fine, then a week after the vet, he died! I opened my heart to this kitty Delphine, her birthday was te same, different year, but not one apology or suggestion, just the cold shoulder! Also, I know for a fact if I didn't send that message on April 3rd, nobody from CARMA would of contacted me because they are all lazy & full of excuses! I bet Delphine's new parents never had to struggle in their life or really know the meaning of being a cat parent!
