She came highly recommended from one her previous clients and I was very pleased with the service she provided us. My goldendoodle, Lee was all over the place before we started the classes and now I can say that he is a very well behaved dog (except when Stella tries to take his birthday doughnut..lol...inside joke). Lee and his other friends from the group class all passed the CGC test. They each had their own strengths and weakness but Maruchy worked hard with each one of them week after week. I came to Maruchy's services with a somewhat odd request. I was getting married and my (now) wife and I really wanted our dog in the ceremony. We were a little concerned with how she might behave, but were willing to take our chances...I mean, she's part of the family, right?? Maruchy is wonderful, don't hesitate to work with her. I have a two year old rescue who is on the large side and is a very fearful and anxious dog, which makes him aggressive. He is reactive to both people and dogs. While he was an obedient dog in the house he was so scared in public that he wouldn't listen to anything I said. After about 8 months work with Maruchy he was able to calm down enough to pass the Canine Good Citizen test, which I initially thought was impossible. While we still have some work ahead of us, Reese has become a much more manageable dog in public. Maruchy initially came to our apartment to teach us both and then when we were ready, we joined group classes. She was very patient with us and let us come to as many classes as we needed to pass the test. Besides being very knowledgeable about doggy behaviour she also has that extra something that dogs just follow her command. I recently used Doggie Days when I decided to take a two week overseas vacation and needed someone to take care of my 65 lb. baby boy. I'm very particular about who I leave him with because of his bread (American Bull Dog) as well as no one can take care of him as well as I do. We have only used her service once but we're very happy with the results. She came to our apartment and fed/walked the dogs twice daily for 3 days while we were at the hospital delivering our first child. Cheap and affordable service. She really loves what she does and her passion shows. We were so excited when we left for the hospital we accidentally locked the door behind us instead of leaving it open with the key on the counter for her. Fortunately she was able to drive to the hospital to get our spare key from me just a couple hours before we delivered. We were recommended to Maruchy from another dog owner in the area when we first got our puppy. That dog was extremely well behaved and obedient. Maruchy has worked with our pup since she was 9 weeks but because of health issues we kept having to put off the CGC test. However, Maruchy allowed us to keep coming to her classes and joining in as much time as we wanted to ensure we felt ready and confident to test our pup. She always has great doggie tips and advice. The main key to her training is consistency on the part of the owner to keep reinforcing the training on a daily basis with the dog and not just leaving it up to the dog to pick it up on their own. I was referred to Maruchy from another pet professional, who didn't feel comfortable or capable helping us with our new rescue. Bailey is a young terrier mix who came over from Puerto Rico after the hurricanes and was quite difficult to "reach" emotionally. She was emotionally scarred and had tons of (often destructive) energy and anxiety. She had no social skills with other dogs and was afraid of all people--except Maruchy. It was an instant connection. Maruchy worked with us and together we have transformed Bailey into a completely different dog. She now plays with every dog, is friendly to and approachable by people, and a rock star at the dog park!
