I was super skeptical at first but Alan and Amanda put me right at ease and made me feel safe about leaving my pup with them.

I have been taking my pets to Miami Shores Animal Clinic for…read moreover 7 years and appreciate the way they've genuinely cared for my pets as well as how they explain their needs. I've recently been helped by Silk, Nicole, & Josh, because of the cat colony I have been caring for, and loved how they gave me realistic support for tending to street cats. They are incredibly comforting to the ones I've brought in, and they have a wonderful way of making these feral cats feel calm. One of the cats that we named Slappy is notorious for slapping humans that got too close to him, but he just came right up to Nicole and laid next to her. My dog Billy recently had an incontinence problem and I am beyond relieved at their new treatment they found to help with that issue. They were quick to asses and properly diagnose the matter and luckily, we haven't had accidents since the new medication. The front desk staff are always super kind and helpful. Grateful for all their help!

I left this veterinary clinic in tears after an extremely upsetting and insensitive experience…read more I brought my 18-year-old dog, Lily, in because I was concerned about her health. She was panting and excited after being outside in the heat and having been bathed earlier. The veterinarian examined her very briefly and told me that she had a "severe heart problem," but he did not review her previous test results--even after I explained that those records showed a history of liver problems. I was then presented with a very expensive list of tests without receiving a clear explanation of what the doctor had found, what the suspected diagnosis was, or which tests were truly essential. When I asked for a written summary of the examination I was paying for, I was told that I would have to wait 24 hours. I explained that I could not afford all the proposed testing and asked whether there was at least medication or another affordable option that could help keep Lily comfortable. His response was essentially that the economy is bad, she is already 18 years old, and "that's life." I found that response incredibly cold and lacking in compassion. What made the experience even more disturbing was that the doctor appeared to record our conversation without informing me beforehand. He then left without properly explaining Lily's condition, offering a realistic care plan based on my financial situation, or even coming back to say goodbye. I understand that Lily is elderly, and I am realistic about her age. However, she still deserves compassionate care, and I deserved a respectful explanation of the findings and available options. Pet owners who are frightened and financially struggling should not be made to feel dismissed or ashamed. I left without answers, without a care plan, and completely heartbroken.
