Second visit was a complete disappointment. I dropped off my two dogs at 9:15 AM for a 9:30 appointment and didn't get them back until after 6 PM--with zero communication. I called multiple times (1:30 PM and 3:30 PM) and was told the same thing each time: "they're almost done" and "up next." No call ever came. When we finally showed up at closing, only one dog was ready. The other hadn't even had their finishing cut or brush-out completed. This turned into a 9-hour ordeal with no updates, and my dinner plans were completely ruined. My dogs were also there all day without food. To make matters worse, the owner didn't apologize, did. It even approached my husband and one of the workers asked for a tip. Really? This is unacceptable--poor communication, poor time management, and unprofessional service. I will not be returning. Schedule if you want a daycare without communication. read more

Terrible experience. If you value your time and your pet, DO NOT COME HERE!! Had an appointment at 9 am for a bath and groom. I was the first person to come in. Was told that it would take around 3 hrs. At 1 pm, They told me shes not done yet. I followed up every hour after that and they kept pushing the time until at 4:15 they said she will be done in 15 mins. I showed up at 4:30 and they haven't even started grooming her! I had to wait there for 30 mins to have them just hurry the grooming, The owner didn't even explain why my dog was there for 7 HOURS and work wasn't started. No apologies, no sorry, nothing. She even complained that my dog hair had knots and asked when was she last groomed...Umm I already told you earlier that my dog was sick for months and JUST had liver surgery. Highly recommend going to ANOTHER grooming service for your pets. I went here before and had good service, but the last service I got yesterday was the worst. I brought my pet in at 9AM, they were late in opening the store and owner looked very unhappy already in the morning. Anyway, she said it will be about 3-4 hours, so I called to check in after 4 hours at 1PM, and the owner said it will be another hour, so I called at 3PM, and they said another hour because she is not done. So I went to the place at 4:30 and thats when they started giving her a cut. Owner had no apologies at all, no explanation as to why It took more than 7 hours to groom my puppy even though we were the first customer that day and even had an appointment. We will never go back here again. I suggest you don't either. read more

I used to take my fur baby there and at first I was satisfied with her work. However, over time I became annoyed with her and unhappy that she had my baby caged for hours. I once made an appointment the the before thanksgiving after she told me she'd be working that day. I arrived at 9:am and waited 30 minutes for her to show up. She never did nor did I get a curtesy call to reschedule. Also, I would always tip her and one time I gave her a $20 tip. However, instead of doing right by me because I was a regular customer she got worse in keeping my dog caged for hours. Needless to say I stopped giving her my business. She was by the best groomer in the first place but I tried to give her grace. I will never, ever take my dog to her. Do not take your fur baby to PawSpa Pet Grooming in Antioch, Ca. I took my Baby to them for grooming yesterday. I paid them $75 and learned that they cut my beloved baby too close and he was bleeding. The only reason they noticed it before I left the business is because they did not cut his nails and as she was trimming his nails she noticed blood was getting on her. She initially thought it was from one of his nails but we found and open cut under his arm. She put ointment on it to stop the bleeding and i took him home. He was fine last night but today after i return from work i noticed that he has been lethargic for the last 3 hours. I am going to watch him and take him to the vet tomorrow because he has never acted like this in the 12 yrs that I have had him. I will NEVER go to them again and if you are smart you won't either. She said it was the size of a ballpoint pen. I'm not a doctor but this is bigger than and ballpoint pen. read more

I've been bringing my dog here for the past year, but after this last experience, I will never return--and I strongly urge others to stay far away from this place. I dropped my dog off for a grooming appointment and was told it would take about 4 hours. I came back after 4 hours to check in, only to find out she still wasn't ready. When I asked how much longer it would be, the staff snapped at me and said, "I DON'T KNOW, AND IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WAIT, YOU CAN TAKE IT." That response alone was shockingly rude and unprofessional--but what happened after was even worse. When we finally got home, my dog ran straight to her water bowl and drank like she hadn't had water in days. It was heartbreaking. Clearly, she was not properly cared for while she was there. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. The staff showed a complete lack of respect for both me and my pet. Horrible service, poor communication, and clear neglect. Mariah is the best! We did a nail trim only. I did a walk-in with my 80 pound husky for his nails. He's a rescue and I didn't know his history with getting his nails trimmed. He isn't wild about his paws being touched. She was able to take us and she is so sweet and efficient. Ghost is big and she was calm and patient. She had other clients waiting for her and didn't hurry or stress. Ghost tried to move around a lot but I held him and she managed trim his nails do a great job. Word cannot describe how much I regret taking my pup to this business. I am new to the area and didn't want to drive all the way to San Francisco to take him to his usual groomer which is how I came across this business. I dropped my dog off 12:15 they told me he would be ready by 4:00. I received a call from Destiny shortly before 4:00 saying that she cut his hawk (back of his leg) . I drove right over as fast as I could. She sure did cut his hawk! I asked how and she said she used a 7inch blade and a 5in blade. I'm not sure if this is standard but I was furious. My dogs hawk was bleeding and she didn't even have the audacity to wrap up his leg. She kept apologizing over and over. I took my dog and left. I am posting pictures of his hawk cut as well as his haircut which was awful. Do not bring your dog here. He has been traumatized ever since. read more

I waited a few years to do this review because I was going through a lot of medical stuff but I wish I would've done it sooner for other people. I dropped my two dogs off to get groomed at 10 AM. I was told it would take around 3 to 4 hours. After six hours, I got worried so I called, and called, and called. No one would answer the phone. So I decided to drive down there and when I walked in... (sidenote I asked them many times for my small dogs to not be around large dogs because I have elders and don't want to risk them getting hurt) there was poo everywhere big dogs, small dogs. All the dogs were just running crazy and I was told that the owner went home sick and left the two other groomers who had only been doing this for a few days were left with 10 dogs! Instead of calling everyone for them to pick up their pets and reschedule the business owner decided to ignore my messages (even though I originally booked through text). When I did show up to find out what was going on one of the groomers got my dogs paw hair stuck in the Dremmel and he started screaming. This dog was 15-years-old by the way. I told them to just stop and let me bring my dogs home. By the end of everything they had been there for 8 hours with no water or being let out. The person who was still working on my dog did not even know how to hold a pair of clippers. And was just hacking at my dogs fur. Both employees were crying because they were left in this situation. I told them I will not pay for the service, but I tipped them because I felt so bad that they had to deal with this. I texted the owner afterwards and never got a response. It took four months for my dog's hair to grow back because he was a Pomeranian and you cannot cut them down to the skin. read more

I've gone here a couple of times and although I appreciate the open availability I feel like this place overbooks in turn ends up doing a rush job. They always run hours behind so prepare for your pet to be here the whole day. I have gotten calls after hours of my pet already being there asking if I can reschedule or if I still wanted the service done. This to me is unprofessional and unacceptable. The groom itself is usually just Okay but the last time I went my dog came out choppy and the cut looked very rushed (my dog had random long hairs still sticking out and the ears looked messy and uneven). I understand sometimes people fall behind but this seems to be the case everytime. Overall I think you should use them if you need a last minute groom and have all day, are on a budget, or as a backup groomer as results vary from just ok to messy. read more

I found this shop by one of our neighbors who was recommending us. We reach out to them at the end of the year, which is normally the most busy day. Most of the shops are fully booked. Leah was the only one who was willing to take us in. I have a Standard Poodle, He is a high-energy dog. And the shops we went to usually sent us back... We were not expecting anything. Leah quickly told me to drop him off and come pick him up later that day. My buddy was HEAVILY matted. Leah and her brother try so hard to try to save his hair and de-matting. Was in desperate need of a groomer, and was so happy at how quickly paw spa was able to book us! I was very surprised by how attentive they were for my pup's needs! I mentioned about my dogs reoccurring ear infections and they did a great job of removing the hair and cleaning the ears while also going the extra mile during her bath to make sure no water gets in them!
