Do not take your fur baby to PawSpa Pet Grooming in Antioch, Ca. I took my Baby to them for grooming yesterday. I paid them $75 and learned that they cut my beloved baby too close and he was bleeding. The only reason they noticed it before I left the business is because they did not cut his nails and as she was trimming his nails she noticed blood was getting on her. She initially thought it was from one of his nails but we found and open cut under his arm. She put ointment on it to stop the bleeding and i took him home. He was fine last night but today after i return from work i noticed that he has been lethargic for the last 3 hours. I am going to watch him and take him to the vet tomorrow because he has never acted like this in the 12 yrs that I have had him. I will NEVER go to them again and if you are smart you won't either. She said it was the size of a ballpoint pen. I'm not a doctor but this is bigger than and ballpoint pen.

Mariah is the best! We did a nail trim only. I did a walk-in with my 80 pound husky for his nails. He's a rescue and I didn't know his history with getting his nails trimmed. He isn't wild about his paws being touched. She was able to take us and she is so sweet and efficient. Ghost is big and she was calm and patient. She had other clients waiting for her and didn't hurry or stress. Ghost tried to move around a lot but I held him and she managed trim his nails do a great job. I was so happy she was so kind to my boy.

Word cannot describe how much I regret taking my pup to this business. I am new to the area and didn't want to drive all the way to San Francisco to take him to his usual groomer which is how I came across this business. I dropped my dog off 12:15 they told me he would be ready by 4:00. I received a call from Destiny shortly before 4:00 saying that she cut his hawk (back of his leg) . I drove right over as fast as I could. She sure did cut his hawk! I asked how and she said she used a 7inch blade and a 5in blade. I'm not sure if this is standard but I was furious. My dogs hawk was bleeding and she didn't even have the audacity to wrap up his leg. She kept apologizing over and over. I took my dog and left. I am posting pictures of his hawk cut as well as his haircut which was awful. Do not bring your dog here. He has been traumatized ever since.

I waited a few years to do this review because I was going through a lot of medical stuff but I wish I would've done it sooner for other people. I dropped my two dogs off to get groomed at 10 AM. I was told it would take around 3 to 4 hours. After six hours, I got worried so I called, and called, and called. No one would answer the phone. So I decided to drive down there and when I walked in... (sidenote I asked them many times for my small dogs to not be around large dogs because I have elders and don't want to risk them getting hurt) there was poo everywhere big dogs, small dogs. All the dogs were just running crazy and I was told that the owner went home sick and left the two other groomers who had only been doing this for a few days were left with 10 dogs! Instead of calling everyone for them to pick up their pets and reschedule the business owner decided to ignore my messages (even though I originally booked through text). When I did show up to find out what was going on one of the groomers got my dogs paw hair stuck in the Dremmel and he started screaming. This dog was 15-years-old by the way. I told them to just stop and let me bring my dogs home. By the end of everything they had been there for 8 hours with no water or being let out. The person who was still working on my dog did not even know how to hold a pair of clippers. And was just hacking at my dogs fur. Both employees were crying because they were left in this situation. I told them I will not pay for the service, but I tipped them because I felt so bad that they had to deal with this. I texted the owner afterwards and never got a response. It took four months for my dog's hair to grow back because he was a Pomeranian and you cannot cut them down to the skin.

I'm so lucky to have met Leah! She spent so much time with me, talking about what I wanted done and how she could accommodate my dog. This haircut beyond exceeded my expectations! Definitely will see her again, she is so kind and amazing at her work.

Very friendly groomer. This was my pups first hair cut. It was okay, it was more like a trim to me. The price was very reasonable.

Upon entry, the dogs did get really excited to see huge screens of dogs...if you have dogs that react to seeing pets on TV - you know what I mean. The staff's demeanor is calm and encouraging. They brought our bigger dog (50lbs) into the area with similar sized pets..and the smaller dog (25lbs) went into that size group. Dogs are grouped together by size - which totally makes sense for safety. The "introduction" is done in about 30mins time...1 new camper..and a more "veteran" camper. The dogs were aware of each other in the space..but there was no forced meeting...they were able to sniff out each other's presence at a safe distance. 2 staff members are there, watching the body language of each dog. Very well done! Then..another dog is added, usually a female if both dogs introduced first are male. Same process...walk around...sniff the space at a non-confrontational distance. Then.,.more dogs are brought in....and the whole time, nervous Dog Mom and Dad are glued to the screens observing from the lobby. Haha..it's like watching your kid on a game show. There are "camp counselors" that encouraged dogs to "mingle"..and if they don't..they aren't forced. One of my dogs was looking for us the entire time. The other mingled and walked around and "sniffed" other dogs. We left them there for 3 hours..and watched them from home! The staff is constantly cleaning up and moving around...the dogs are able to socialize and "greet" other dogs. Definitely a place we will see again soon..just to get them used to the environment should we ever need to bring them to day care or overnight. Oh! They also take them to a "sleep suite" to see how they handle being solo. My dogs would sleep in the same space, but during the day they'd be separated. We like this because it will allow the younger dog to build confidence. I feel like our dogs would be safe here! It's a temperature controlled area with staff who genuinely look after the dogs and care about them. I'm very pleased with this space and how everything is presented! No..it's not an obedience school/training facility for pre-law enforcement K9s. There is no agility training course to bring your dog to genius SAT score level. It's a safe place that will see to your dog's needs during those times you can't be there. And really..that's all any loving pet parent wants. If we can't take them to the wedding...reunion...vacation..then we want them somewhere safe and somewhere that allows me to view them remotely while we are away. This gives us peace of mind.

We noticed this frequently on the live cameras and brought it to the staff's attention, asking that they be aware of it and help prevent it during her longer stay. Unfortunately, we continued to observe the behavior. When we picked her up, she had lost weight, had a runny nose, and her behavior around other dogs had changed significantly. Before boarding, she was much more comfortable around other dogs, but afterward she became reactive and barked at them regularly. We understand that boarding can be stressful for some dogs and that dog-to-dog interactions are not always predictable. However, we were disappointed that our concerns about the repeated mounting behavior did not appear to be adequately addressed. Based on our experience, we have decided to use an in-home pet sitter for future vacations. We hope this feedback helps the facility improve supervision and ensure that dogs who are repeatedly targeted by other dogs receive more intervention and support.
