I saw improvement with Meatball's arthritis in a few weeks, whereas I did not see much improvement at the place where I took Meatball to first. I wish I found Dr. Sosna right away. Dr. Sosna is impressive at taking "doctor jargon" and simplyiing it in a way I (as a non-doctor) can understand. She is personable, patient, kind, honest, dedicated, and a great resource for my many other non-physical therapy dog-related health questions. Dr. Sosna understands my dog's needs, and the care and support she has given him is beyond excellent. If you are searching for a rehab center for your pet or just thinking about it, you will not regret your time with Dr. Sosna. I look forward to taking Meatball there, and Meatball likes it so much he does not want to leave. Dr. Sosna is top notch, and I cannot say enough great things about her and her team at Animal Acupuncture & Rehab.

My dog had 4 acupuncture sessions with Dr Sosna. I know nothing about acupuncture but can say he has responded well. His insurance capped him at $400- the consultation was $350, and acupuncture ( about 40min ) is $220. This clinic is at best "modest". There is Dr Sosna and a woman named Yvanna. I forwarded an emai form from our insurance, I have followed through with 3 vm and now 2 emails but Dr Sosna has yet to send off the records for this $1k bill I regret I took.my Vet's and his employee's recommendation for Dr Sosna, I should have checked with other Vet clinics that offer acupuncture. I have now done so. Dr Sosna is one of 2 that charges highest prices- yet her overhead is lowest. Pet insurances now charge far more than in previous years. Vets charge more- especially as nearly all Vet clinics are corporate owned And this is why insurance companies charge more and reinburse much less. Imagine a family of 4- dad brings home $130k, can they afford dog acupuncture at $220 for 45min? No. So dogs will endure pain, families may turn them over to Humane Society or euthanized. Should human acupuncture cost 1/3 cost of animal? I write this to let you know your dog and you have options: highly regarded Tsavos, East- West, and other clinics charge far LESS than Dr Sosna- you may need to travel an extra 20min but consider this: 10acupucture sessions at this clinic is $2200, but at others you may save $100 in first consult and $1k for 10sessions! Oh, and clinics will be presentable, they have receptionist who will forward records that same day to your insurance so you can schedule your pup for treatment As a dog mom it saddens me that I wrote a bad review- don't blame me, blame the vet.

During our visit with Dr. Hackett, I felt like I was unnecessarily alarmed and pushed toward additional testing that turned out to be completely unnecessary. I brought in my two dogs, including my Border Collie, whose heart rate Dr. Hackett immediately treated as a serious concern. She made it sound like something could be very wrong and suggested multiple tests to rule out an emergency situation. My border collie also gets seizures which I told Dr. Hackett about and she told me she thought they are fainting spells due to his low heart rate, not seizures. Which I also got confirmations he definitely has seizures and nothing else like she suggested. After leaving very worried, I sought second opinions from other veterinarians. They all reassured me that my Border Collie's heart rate was completely normal for the breed and that they have seen even lower heart rates in athletic dogs like him despite his seizures. What was presented to me as potentially alarming was actually very typical. The same thing happened with my senior dog. Dr. Hackett told me her kidney and liver values were elevated and strongly pushed further testing, making it sound urgent. When I had another vet review the labs, they explained the values were only slightly elevated and extremely common in older dogs. They even told me she is far more likely to pass from old age before those numbers would ever reach liver failure levels. They also mentioned the slight elevation could simply be due to her high-protein diet. The experience left me feeling like fear was used to push unnecessary testing rather than providing balanced, knowledgeable guidance. It caused a lot of unnecessary stress and extra expense. Because of this, I would personally recommend seeking care elsewhere and getting a second opinion if you are ever told something is urgently wrong here.

He finally came out a few hours later, with help from several neighbors. He needed urgent help and I started at my neighborhood vet, Rancho San Carlos Pet Clinic. Charlie and I were offered immediate assistance. All of the staff were so kind and showed great care as we determined Charlie's injuries. They were calm, and therefore, he was calm. After X-rays and CT of his organs, he showed that he had no broken bones or punctured organs/internal bleeding! However, he did require reattachment of his skin to his bones on one of his hind legs and stitches on his other leg. A huge thanks to Dr. Halsey and her team and we were sent quickly to Tell Tail Moonlight Veterinary Center in Encinitas, where they were ready and waiting for Charlie! The office staff was also very kind and caring and the facility is very clean-I didn't even detect that it was a veterinary center with my nose. Dr. Soares was very thoughtful and thorough explaining the surgery plan, and her team successfully completed the surgery, as well as a toe amputation. They worked on him well past closing time. Veterinary angels, if you ask me! Hands down, I would give my highest recommendation to both of these businesses for your veterinary needs. I saw a lot of happy pets and happy owners that day while I waited for Charlie! I'm a huge fan!

The specialists take the time to thoroughly answer questions and never make you feel rushed. Our appointment lasted nearly two hours because we had so many questions about our dog's medical condition, and the entire team remained attentive and supportive throughout the visit. We did experience a small issue with a prescription that was sent to Costco. Since it was a Friday, it took several phone calls to get everything clarified. What truly impressed us was the level of accountability and customer service. The doctor personally called us on a Saturday to apologize for the prescription error and ensure everything had been resolved. This was our second visit, and based on the compassionate care, professionalism, and dedication of the staff, we will absolutely be returning. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care for their pet.

The initial session for 90 minutes flew by and there was a lot of information and services that they offered, including red light therapy, water therapy, gym/physical therapy and Adequan shots. While it can be costly. I feel like the services are 100% worthwhile. It doesn't hurt that. We also have pet insurance. The facility is always clean. In my opinion very well run, organized with receipts being sent over email and confirmation calls and emails. What's stood out most is Dr. Schuda encouraging us to get an MRI which we did (at another specialty hospital) to properly diagnose my dog's ailment. It makes so much sense so that we can customize her therapy and rehab correctly. She has been in communication with all of our vets now, our holistic vet, neurologist, and surgeon. It's like having a specialized liaison to customize Glory's treatment. We are thankful to have found (been referred by a friend) to Animals Only. An extra perk is that it's close to home and easy to get to. Scheduling has been easy. 10/10!

You and your…read moreloved ones will feel properly cared for in their beautifully balanced personal and professional clinic. While every case is, of course, unique, we are SO thrilled to share that we have had enormous success with our young pup's dual hind MPL - from limping to now sprinting about, much of which is thanks to the hard work and care Animals Only provided to our pack. When our 9 month old, mixed, small breed puppy, Zaniyah, had a minor slip and fall and could not bear weight on her left hind, exhibiting a limp, we got her checked immediately, thinking she had a minor accident. It ended up being more than we thought: she was diagnosed with MPL grade 3 in her left hind, grade 1-2 in her right hind, and both her hind legs exhibiting bone deformity. We knew we were in for a long haul into territory we had never ventured. I immediately sought consultations with rehab clinics to get her what she needed, in hopes to bypass surgery, if possible. Our primary vet, Dr. Stuart at Coast View, suggested Animal's Only along with other clinics. From the moment I called and spoke with Todd, Animal Only's co-owner and manager, I knew they were going to be a great fit for our baby girl, and would offer a plan tailored to her needs. Animal's Only's convenient location , positive, care-forward vibe from the team and Dr. Schuda's kind, supportive and knowledgeable care only solidified my confidence. Zaniyah loved her new friends, right away, too! Our baby girl was gently pre-habilitated with AO for about 2.5 months to get her ready for surgery, mainly utilizing gym sessions and water/hydrotherapy. While the nature of Zaniyah's condition in her left hind ended up requiring surgery, we were able to coordinate with her speciality surgeon in LA alongside AO to give her the best rate of success and full recovery. Dr. Schuda was diligent with keeping Zaniyah's professional team updated, ensuring comprehensive care. Once Zaniyah healed enough from her surgery, approx a month post-op, we resumed PT under AO's care which lasted about 4.5 months. We added some laser therapy to her care alongside the gym and hydro treadmill. We also opted for Adequan injections to help her joints have the proper fluid flow, encouraging healing. We were exceedingly diligent with her at-home care and exercises, adhering to detailed instruction given by Dr. Schuda and the team. From the beginning of our time doing pre-hab/pre-surgery thru her rehabilitation after surgery, Zaniyah loved her time at the clinic, and so did we. While it definitely is a journey of ups and downs - as is the case with the trajectory of this type of healing - so long as you put in the time, care and commitment to the journey, you absolutely will have the support, guidance and top-notch skills needed to get your fur baby to the most optimal outcome. It is worth it. Zaniyah graduated from Animals Only a couple months ago and is truly thriving. She has not needed another surgery despite her right hind still having MPL grade 1-2 and minor skeletal deformity (you'd never be able to tell by looking at her though). We are certain that all the time, effort and care from prehab to rehab directly attributed to our success story. We are SO grateful for Animals Only providing the very best care and love to our pack. You will be, too.
