Our first visit with Dr Johnson for our Mochi was great. The facility was nice, clean, and nicely stocked with treats for our dogs. The staff were all SO kind and looked happy to be there and genuinely enjoy taking care of animals. The vet tech and Dr Johnson took their time with our timid Shiba. She gets really anxious at the vet, and this was probably one of the least traumatic visits for her. Dr Johnson examined her slowly on the floor, talking to her, introducing herself before jumping straight into prodding and poking. I felt like she listened to our concerns and gave sound, reasonable advice for our elderly girl. The prices were very reasonable to me. Especially after visiting a recent vet we didn't like at Poway for 1 thing and being charged $200 more than we paid today despite addressing multiple complaints today. They were also quite transparent with their prices online. I actually liked our vet visit today rather than leaving stressed and dissatisfied. I am planning to switch our other dog's care over to here too once she's due for her annual visit. We have moved around a lot in the 13 years I've had my dog and this is in my top 2. So, I called today because they popped up as a specialist for dog seizures. First thing you get is a recording that states "your call will be shared with third-parties." Before anything. Before you can ask a question. Anything. That means they can even be selling your voice can be sold to AI to sample, that is currently happening. Not saying they do, but why are they sending your call, which may include your credit card number if you're paying a bill or for medication?!!!! Yeah, that's what I want, someone who is going to sell/share my data. If they don't respect you from the first call - you can pretty much ascertain that you can just skip this place. When our longtime veterinarians at Poway Animal Hospital retired, I was worried about finding someone new who would be just as compassionate and kind -- someone who truly cared about an animal's well-being more than anything else. I was very fortunate to find Dr. Jacqueline Johnson at The InFURmary. At the time, I brought in my almost 13-year-old Labrador retriever, Diesel, who was suffering from severe degenerative back issues. I hadn't planned on saying goodbye to my sweet boy that day, but Dr. Johnson approached the situation with such kindness and compassion. She gently helped me think beyond my own wishes and focus on what was truly in Diesel's best interest. Her empathy, patience, and genuine care meant more to me than I can express. We love InFURmary and Dr. Johnson! When our dog, Darwin, needed emergency surgery for kidney stones, they were able to get him in the same day and took amazing care of him. Dr. Johnson was kind, thorough, and helped us feel at ease during a very stressful time. One thing I really appreciate is that they've never pushed unnecessary treatments. They've always been upfront about our options, including lower-cost alternatives when appropriate. We've usually gone with their top recommendation, but it's reassuring to know they're focused on what's best for your pet. The entire staff is wonderful. All of the techs are caring and attentive, and Bea at the front desk is fantastic always friendly and so helpful. As the owner of a COVID puppy with separation anxiety, I also have to mention the pup cups!!. They make visits so much easier for Darwin. On a personal note, I'm an elementary school teacher and took a couple of days off while Darwin was recovering. Great experience setting up care for my pup here. Every single staff member was so nice and kind to engage with. Office space - very clean and aesthetic while still being comfortable. Both the pup and I were happy it doesn't have a sterile cold feeling. There's a PUP CUP BAR!! (With sprinkles!) Staff/Service - went in for a first time visit and had a fantastic, thorough examination and discussion. The vet tech took her time with getting my very excited golden to settle down and relax with her, sitting on the floor with her. The vet was just as great and sweet towards my dog and listened attentively, never rushed questions and was great with her recommendations. She ended up needing a biopsy and it was quickly done in the office with results confirmed by the vet right then and there. Payment/Cost: everything we had done was reasonable and very clearly explained and noted. Their entire communication system and style is great and left us with no questions. We had to switch vets because our previous one misdiagnosed our pup, even when I specifically asked about the actual diagnosis. They dismissed me. We walked in here and were immediately taken seriously. The vet came in and immediately sat down on the floor with our pup. That's how I know she's an animal person, she got down to the level of our nervous pup and cared about him. There is nothing more I could've asked for from the inFURmary. Very suddenly, I noticed dramatic weight loss in my 15 year-old childhood cat, Mickey. So, I snuck him out of the house over to the inFURmary for a check-up. Despite being younger and on a budget, everyone was willing to work with me to seek out the best, yet most affordable options for Mickey. I was given subcutaneous fluids for my boy, along with an appetite stimulant. They even sent me home with a few cans of wet food, which was just such a thoughtful gesture and shows how caring the staff are. After I received his bloodwork results via email, I would send constant emails with general questions, support for his treatments, and advice for our future steps. Dr. Johnson went just above and beyond, taking the time each day to respond to each and every inquiry I sent, even several day after my visit. Her expertise, patience, and support absolutely exceeded my expectations, and is a testament to just how far the inFURmary had gone to care for Mickey. Despite this, I had brought in Mickey too late. He ended up in critical condition, and lost his ability to walk and stand about 4 days after I visited. We rushed him over to the ER as it was very late at night, and we were told it was best to put him to sleep. At the time of scheduling the dental cleaning appointment for my cat I let them know that she does not travel well, and I would like to get the cleaning and the exam scheduled in the same day instead of them being on two separate days and they agreed to that. Upon arriving, they tell me that they are booked out for cleaning and they can only do the exam. My cat had bad breath, and at first I thought she only needed a simple dental cleaning. We've had such great experience's here. We've been here a couple times now with our dogs and our cat. And every time the staff is so welcoming and warm, they really listen to our concerns with our animals and they take such great care of them.
