We just returned from a week long trip leaving our senior Golden Retriever and Orange cat in the trusted care of our sitter, Seresa. She was absolutely amazing! She checked in with me continuously sending photos and updating me through out the day. She asked questions about their behavior to make sure everything was ok and definitely went above and beyond to make them feel comfortable and safe while we were away. They provided the services within the times I requested, then ended each visit by texting me a photo of my pet in her home to show how well she was doing:) Responses to my texts were prompt and friendly, and I was very happy with the final total for expenses. I have 3 basset hounds and cannot imagine ever boarding them. Having Doggie latchkey has been such a weight off my shoulders when I travel! When I first requested service they sent over the person who would be watching my dogs (Joni) so I could meet her and she could meet my dogs. Now I feel so comfortable leaving knowing my pups are in great hands. I get tons of pictures and text messages from her when she comes over and she is even able to accommodate my 14 year old basset with her special medication she gets twice a day. Finding Doggie Latchkey was seriously the best part about moving to Grand Rapids! Joni was assigned to Lily and was nothing but wonderful!!! She was in communication with me from the time she arrived to walk her, and throughout. I work a very demanding job and long shifts, so I never had to wonder or worry in the slightest. Joni would send picture updates, and even tell me of the friends they would make on their walks too (particularly one of the neighbor's cat who loved to stare lily down) One of the most positive things about this company is that the dog walkers are very gentle, loving and very knowledgable. Lily can be an anxious dog, and is very sensitive, so it was so wonderful to see her get out of her shell and make new friends. If you are looking for a company that values your pet/pets as much as you do, then this is the perfect company for you. There really isn't enough positive words to say about them! I'm sad to not have Joni anymore, and I know Lily will miss her too, but I'll be moving to the Detroit area in January and will be resuming services with them there. read more

I know they take great care of my pup while I'm working :) even during covid! They have an app that is convenient for scheduling visits/walks/other dog care. My walker always send me pictures and feeds him while I'm away. No minimum walks per week which is great for a schedule like mine that is always changing. read more

We absolutely love Doggie Latchkey! We randomly found them this past Thanksgiving when I called our normal boarding facility a month in advance to reserve services and they were fully booked. Completely forgot to find a replacement and one week prior to our trip I was frantically searching for something. Luckily I found this company!! Our German Shepherd Benny has pretty bad anxiety around other dogs- so really this is the perfect solution to keep him calm and comfortable while we are away. Rob came by for an initial meet and greet and he was exactly what we needed. We could tell Benny felt very comfortable with him which instantly put our minds at ease. When we left for our trip Rob texted us the morning of to confirm he would be coming by and after every visit we received messages detailing the time of his walk, if he was fed and any additional notes. When we returned from our trip Benny was very comfortable and happy- not full of anxiety like he typically would be had we boarded him. Now, a few months later we are heading out for our second trip and Rob will be coming by again and we are so grateful! He's absolutely the best and now we can enjoy our time away knowing Benny is in great care. We would definitely recommend this company to anyone and everyone! read more

I have been using Doggie Latchkey since May of 2021. When I am scheduled for a long day at work, Jess comes over to walk my dog and feed her. I work in healthcare, which is very short staffed right now. There have been several occasions where I have needed a dog walker at the last minute, and they have come through. Denise and her Team are amazing! I cannot say enough good things about them all. We moved my mom and due to health reasons she needed help walking her dog. They are caring, trustworthy, on time, and communicate so well also! They always go above snd beyond. Covid19 has not slowed them down. They take every precaution to keep everyone safe. I am new to Grand Rapids and was looking for someone to check on my cat when I went out of town. I found doggie latchkey simply by google, so I wasn't sure what I would get! Erik came over and met smokey first and went over his services. We were really impressed with his professionalism. We were away for 10 days and he checked on the cat for me 5 times. He was prompt in emailing me after every visit to tell me how he was doing. When I got home - the cat was perfect. He was fed, had new water and everything was cleaned up.
