Incredibly inexperienced and rude front desk staff. This made us just look elsewhere. First impressions matter and if you cannot hire someone who is professional to represent your business, I'm guessing that it just goes downhill from there. We adopted a new fur baby this past November. Butters came to us sick and emaciated. Of course I wanted to get him into the vet asap. Our older dogs vet (whom we LOVE) is all the way on the other side of town so we decided for Butters to find an office closer to home. Dr. Haskins had some pretty big shoes to fill but we are impressed. Their entire office has been nothing but pleasant and very helpful. I was able to get an appointment the same week, even switching to a sooner one when a cancellation made an earlier time available. Dr. Haskins followed up our first appointment with a handwritten note and shows genuine concern for our dog. I didn't feel rushed and she takes the time to listen. Their office also offers evening appointments which is wonderful for my working Mom schedule. We are so happy to have found them! read more

I am so glad to have found such a great place to bring my little fur baby. My fiancé and I recently inherited a cat from my Grandpa that passed away. Her entire history was a mystery to us, so we weren't really sure what vaccinations/boosters she had done or if she had any health issues. Neither of us have ever owned our own pets, so we were a little lost. We made the appointment at Standale Vet and upon arrival we were directed right into a room. PV (my cat) was able to freely walk around and sniff out the room, which was great for her since she is a really anxious cat. I was afraid we would have to wait in a waiting room with other people and animals, so it was so nice to been seen right away. PV was treated with such care by Dr. Haskins and her team. You could tell they really cared about her and did what they could to make her comfortable. After getting a couple of booster shots and a clean bill of health, we were all set. Before leaving, Dr. Haskins made sure that we didn't have any questions and understood what we should be doing to keep PV healthy and happy. She was a great listener and it was nice to have so many of my questions answered. Following up on our appointment we received a handwritten note from Dr. Haskins in the mail, which was a nice touch. Overall, the experience at Standale Veterinary Hospital was great, and I'm so glad we've found someone that can take good care of PV. read more

As of today, Medora is still happy and healthy, thanks to Standale Veterinary Hospital! I got married and recently moved back down to Austin, Texas, which unfortunately meant that Medora cant see SVH for her future appointments (If 1,300 miles weren't so far, we would!), but I did make sure to take her to them for one last visit before we left. The vet tech and Dr. Haskins were both wonderful during Medora's checkup and were very patient and kind to her, which is so great when you have an animal who doesn't like going to the vet much. I had a horrible experience this morning with the clinics rude vet tech Kelly over the phone. I called to obtain new kitten physical pricing and procedure information on declaw, vaccines and neuter, and was told they're not scheduling appointments until July, and that in order to establish care there and proceed with a declaw and neuter that I'd have to have a second physical done by their clinic even if he's already had one with another clinic, as they wouldn't accept treatment records from another vet. He's in need of his second distemper and an initial physical, which obviously I would have to complete before he could be seen there, as they have no appointment openings. It seems ridiculous to me that I'd have to pay for two complete physicals because they won't accept other vet records. As I was trying to sort all this information out in my head, she then also proceeded to tell me that that is their policy and that I can go somewhere else if I didn't like it. I would never bother with an establishment that allows their employees to mouth off to prospective customers, and have emailed Dr Haskins regarding this incident. I wasn't rude to her and called with specific information that I was trying to obtain in oder to get my kitten established veterinary care. This person should not be answering phones, or working at all with the public, as she's not an asset to their business, but a liability. read more

I love this vet! We have two cats and didn't really think cats needed a vet. WRONG! The Doc told us the most efficient way to take care of all my cats problems with the least amount of recovery time and the least amount of over night stays! This means kitty came home sooner! They have great deals on dental in October but it fills up fast! Friendly staff, very clean facility. Super personable, wanted follow up calls about how meow meow was doing, helpful weeks later when i called with questions! AND they take AMEX! We found our forever vet! Doctor Haskins use to be a vet tech and eventually took over the business so she knows her stuff!! read more

We've been taking our two cats here for about four years now, and they've been consistently well-priced, informative, warm, and helpful. Dr. Haskins remembers our pets and explains concepts and theory to us regarding suggested practices and care-taking. We always feel more knowledgeable and better educated after we leave Standale Vet. Additionally, Dr. Haskins exhibits a higher level of consideration for the feelings and comfort of the animals than I have seen elsewhere. For example, we had to give our female cat painkillers twice a day for two weeks after having her fixed and declawed whereas our last vet didn't recommend anything outside of what they used during surgery. Standale Vet is well priced; there are many places where you can't get out the door under $100, but this is not one of them. For example, we brought our cat in for an emergency appointment due to prolonged vomiting today. Dr. Haskins gave him an exam, a shot of anti nausea medication, and a couple cans of specialized wet food for potential issues, and it cost us $80. Really pleased with the level of courtesy, competence, and care. read more

My dog had an ear infection that had been bothering him for months. My old vet gave me medicine for him, but it never really went away. I visited Standale and Heather was fantastic! After taking a culture she cleaned and packed his ear full of medicine and we have not had another problem! Everyone was really nice and great with my dog. Also, there were no surprise costs - I received a cost estimate for preventative care I need to have done in the next coming couple months so I can plan accordingly. I took my cat to Ms. Applegate some time ago when he seemed ill. All she did was a quick exam and a little bloodwork. I was there only 30 minutes. She charged me 280 dollars!! In addition, she told me he needed his teeth cleaned and her estimate was $600.00!! Unbelievable!! I took Jack elsewhere to have his teeth cleaned and the charge was less than $150.00. As far as I'm concerned, they're simply robbing their customers with phony and inflated charges. read more
