I'm not sure the name of the man who groomed my dog, it was on Saturday 3/7/26. I do appreciate him getting me in same day, but the quality of work for 95$ was extremely poor. My dog still had knotted ears, tail, uneven face and missed spots on her legs and paws. I did email the email listed on their business card hoping to come to some kind of agreement privately but they haven't emailed me back so I feel inclined to leave a review. I'm new to the area so I was a little shocked about 95$ for a 12lb dog, I'm used to paying 50$. For 95$ I expect pristine work, this just isn't up to par. read more

An updated review: Since my previous post, the owner and name of the dog spa has changed. With this change came with a lost in quality. In May, my dog went in to get groomed before coming down to my graduation. He went in looking almost the same as when he came out. Despite taking MULTIPLE inspiration pictures, the groomer left my dog looking very different. In fact, we had to go ahead and cut his hard AGAIN when we got home. I used to take my dog here every 2 weeks for a nail trim and then the occasional groom, but I will no longer be doing so. (Not to mention the prices went from a $10 nail trim to $15.) read more

I got the works, nail file, full wash , defur Etc. when I got my 60lb Catahoula leopard dog, she didn't smell good for 100 dollars I expect my dog to smell amazing, she also still had sharp nails which is very disappointing , will not be going back read more

Sadly my 10 pound Norwich Terrier was injured by Derrick as he worked on her coat. Derrick said he was both skilled and experienced at hand-stripping terriers. He stated that he even did this for show terriers. This process should never be painful or harmful to the skin as it removes dead fur ready to come out. I have had my little terrier for 10 years, and her coat has always been professionally done, and this type of trauma had never happened. Her coat was ready for this process. Derrick did not strip the coat correctly and proceeded to pull out fur by the root and injured the dog's skin. She has sores all over her body, her hair follicles became inflamed and infected. When I called Derrick to talk about this, he became agitated and said he did not have time to talk. I asked him to cover the vet expenses of $442.00 plus I asked for a refund on the grooming fee of $135.00. I have reported this shop to Animal Control in Santa Rosa. This was a traumatic experience for my dog and family. Please be very careful when choosing a groomer. read more

If I were you, I would stay clear of this place. We stopped by for a walk-in nail trim and upon walking into the building it reeked of wet dog like terrible that I wanted to just leave was greeted by the owner, I'm assuming didn't really introduce his name came out, grabbed our dog asked what our dogs name was took him to the back. It all happened so fast we didn't even give us a chance to say never mind. You're also locked in so it's not like we could really go outside for fresh air and we didn't even want to leave our dog either. He came out really quick and probably did the worst nail trim I've ever seen. He didn't even cut the nails he just used a Dremel and buffedthem down. I think the health department should get involved or animal services. This type of establishment shouldn't be around and especially the way it smelled. I'm surprised the restaurant next-door doesn't complain about the smell .I will not be going back to this place and I will not recommend this place to anyone I know. Steer clear people if you know what's good for you and your animals. read more

This was my first time to a new salon with my Standard Poodle who has anxiety issues. I explained my concerns to Devon, and she was very receptive of his needs. We took our dogs to get their nails clipped. I called ahead to make sure they accept walk-ins, they do. I told them I'd be there in about 20 min. When I arrived I had to ring the doorbell and someone came out, after telling her why we were there she took my dog in and we had to wait outside. It was an odd experience. Emily is THE best! She is so kind and gentle with my pups and does an excellent job trimming their nails super short which is not easy given they're dark and you can't see the quick. The best part about Velvet is how easy it is to get a nail trim; no appointment needed. Just drop in and they'll trim/grind in less than 10 minutes. They're prices are also more than reasonable. My two small dogs for grooming on December 2nd. When I picked them up one of them was shaking, having a hard time walking back to the car, and is now absolutely terrified to walk around pet food express (which is usually where they get baths until their next grooming session). I won't be bringing my dogs back to the velvet dog spa and they might want to consider looking into the groomer that was there that day. No dog deserves to have a bad experience.
