We have been customers with Doggy Dates for several years, and until recently were fairly happy with their services. We didn't get a lot of feedback about how our dog was doing unless we specifically asked, but our dog generally seemed happy and tired when he got home from his dates, which we took to be a good thing. My in-laws were house sitting recently and reported that our dog was not acting like himself-he was hiding in the shower and afraid to go out. When they sent my husband and I a pic of him we noticed he was wearing a different type of collar. Come to find out that the dog walker from Doggy Dates was using an electronic bark collar, without our permission, and forgot to take it off after his date. It was clearly stated in our notes that they were not to use any type of collar device on our dog without our permission. By the time we realized what had happened our dog had been wearing the collar for over 24 hours, and he was visibly traumatized. When we spoke to management about the situation, they said the dog walker took it upon himself to use the collar on our dog, without our permission, to correct some behavioral issues with our dog that no one had ever even spoken to us about. We don't even know how long this had been going on for; we only found out because he forgot to remove the collar. It goes without saying that we are no longer using this company. We want to make others aware of what happened to us to hopefully avoid a similar situation for another dog. We can only hope that this company will take responsibility for its employee who blatantly breached our trust, and what this company supposedly stands for. read more

We used Doggy Dates for three years for our dog. We discovered, while we were out of town and my parents were house-sitting, that our dog's regular dog walker had used a bark collar on him despite explicit directions to not use it, and left it on him. At no point were we notified about this; we only happened to notice it on a FaceTime. We had concerns about communication prior to this, but this was a breach of our trust and a potential health risk for our dog. We are disappointed and do not recommend this company. read more

We hired Doggy Dates to care for our Irish Terrier, Ziggy for several years. He was always happy and well cared for by their team. The problem with Doggy Dates is not the dog care, it is with the management of the company and their customer service skills. I found that the managers and the owner were inflexible when we needed any special attention and they seemed unconcerned with trying to understand customer needs. Phone messages went unanswered, email responses were robotic and inflexible. When confronted with a customer complaint management stiffened and refused to continue caring for our dog after several years. In my business we go out of our way to understand customers' point of view and needs and then go beyond requirements. Doggy Dates does not get this. Great for dogs- really bad with people. read more

I cannot recommend Doggy Dates enough! Our pup is obsessed! Each morning he's scheduled to go he waits (impatiently) at the door and when they arrive he gets SO excited. The team provides a great update after the first date with pictures and from my interactions with the staff are absolutely wonderful with the dogs. The BEST! Our high energy lab has been going for over a year and he loves it. When we are home to see him leave he doesn't look back and when we are home to see him return he is tired and happy, always running back to give his driver one more wiggle before they leave. We heard great things about Doggy Dates from our friends in Wellesley but hadn't lived in their service area until we moved to Sudbury this past fall. This is such a no brainer. There's no inconvenience of going out of your way to a daycare. They do all the legwork for you. The Doggy Dates staff are friendly and communicative. And they're honest - one time they forgot to pick up our pooch due to a schedule mixup but came by and added him to the later playgroup. My dog can't tell time. He was just as thrilled to go a few hours later. I appreciated that they admitted the goof and it was fixed immediately. I really can't complain! My dog can't wait for his next date. I love seeing pictures of the dogs running around having a blast. It's clear dogs love it. Five stars for Doggy Dates! read more

Doggy dates is great! So glad I found a place that picks up and drops off. I have 2 high energy dogs that love to play and it's great that they get a day to go outside for awhile and play with other dogs. They get so excited to go and are always worn out later that day. my dog had been going on play dates 3x per week with Doggy Dates for almost a year when I noticed that he was behaving differently. I spoke to a dog trainer and he suggested that I should watch him at play when out on his dates. while this is forbidden with Doggy dates, ( they say because they lease the land where the dogs play and it is private). I had to set my eyes on him to see what was going on, well, imagine my surprise to find that he was not with the other dogs but secluded in his own pen. When asking the company why this was I received many different answers. It was only "occasionally" when he became over stimulated and the SHOCK collar didn't work and maybe only a handful of times had he been separated. (I had been informed months prior to this that his behavior had improved and there was no need for any correction in his behavior). It is appaling to find that they were using a shock collar and separating him both. BEWARE if you are not allowed to visit your dog to see where they play either in person or via video, don't trust in what they say. I have asked for my money back but only received a, SORRY. read more

I can't say enough great things about Doggy Dates!!! They are super reliable and will pick up your pup rain, shine or snow. It's perfect for people who don't want their dogs at day care all day, but need more fun and exercise than just a walk. I have 3 pups and they were flexible with pricing as walking services for 3 dogs can get pretty steep. I love the Facebook videos and photos they post throughout the day so you can see the fun all the dogs are having. My dogs are out cold when they get home I also love the safety of the car they pick them up in that has separate compartments for all the dogs so the driver can get them around safely. Doggy Dates has been perfect fit for our 5yo labradoodle. We have hired dog walkers in the past, but a trip around the block just isn't enough for him. With Doggy Dates he goes on a field trip every day! He is much more relaxed/content at night when we get home and is more social around other dogs too (he's playing with friends more!). I was looking for a way to keep my Dog, Frank, active during the winter months while I am at work. Fortunately, I was able to find Doggy Dates, which offers pick up and drop off service for Frank. I work in Needham at TripAdvisor - which is a dog friendly office - Doggy Dates picks Frank up twice a week in a safe, retro-fitted Scion around 8:30am and brings him to large open field where he runs around off leash with other dogs. Frank sometimes goes for a single and double session, so he returns to work around 11:00 or 1:30. He has made a lot of friends and will whimper when we get to work and Doggy Dates isn't here yet. When Frank comes back he is a little dirty, but most importantly tired. Doggy Dates is a safe and well run playgroup service and I completely trust that Frank is taken care of by Elizabeth and her team. read more

About two months ago we started using Doggy Dates once weekly to get our dog more socialization time, as well as alleviate some of the lonely hours while we're at work (and give me a day that I didn't have to go home for lunch to play and walk her). We've been very happy so far with everything, especially the pricing and flexibility. They make it really easy and hassle-free (you don't even have to be home if you don't want to), and our little pal Phoebe comes home exhausted and happy! It's not a proper substitute for daycare if that's what you're looking for, as the date is only a few hours, but that's reflected in the fact that every all-day day care for dogs I've found has a much higher cost per day. Doggy Dates works terrific for us since my wife and I do not work the same exact hours (I leave 3 hours later for work than she does) and Phoebe is only alone for a short time before and after her mid-day doggy play time.
