I found the Univ. of Doglando by sheer luck, and it was the best thing that could've happened for Capone and us. Capone is a 5-year old lab/pit mix who we adopted. He was born in the wild and found in the wild and was the only dog out of the dogs he ran with that was not euthanized. They believed he could be reintroduced to society. Well, he could, but it was not easy for him or us. He did not get along with any other dogs except the other two labs we owned at the time. He would attack other dogs, big, small, young, old, totally unprovoked. I had to put my boy Rayder down in early Sept, which left Capone with no companions. He truly was a mess. In addition to his issues with other dogs, he began to show signs of separation anxiety even if I just left for five minutes. And honestly, we weren't totally comfortable with Capone and children together. I was driving, saw the sign and decided to look into it. When I drove up, I heard no dogs barking and assumed that they didn't do good business, or that the facility was new and no one was taking their dogs there. When I entered Teena explained how the program worked (I was actually looking for a boarding facility only), and when she told me Capone would have to be enrolled in their program for at least one day a week to be able to board him, I kind of lost interest as I knew Capone's behavior with other dogs & knew he would never be able to "fit" in with this type of program where all the dogs are together. I was about to leave when Teena asked if I'd like a tour. I thought "why not, I'm here," but honestly wasn't too interested. Then she took me out back, & what I saw literally caused my jaw to drop open. There must have been 50-75 dogs playing & romping around. And not one dog barking. Honestly, not one barking dog!!! I was astonished. I told her that I didn't think Capone could do this & explained his behavior. She assessed him for over an hour & told me that he absolutely would benefit from their program. I took Capone the following week with extreme anxiety! It's now been two months, Capone has been going twice a week, & I also enrolled him in their AA program, which is their beginning obedience class. This dog is a completely different dog. He is happy. I can take him almost anywhere, and he's calm & happy. HE IS HAPPY! I can't tell you what this means. Since being in the obedience class, he's done a 360. I take him to outdoor restaurants & he's totally fine w/other dogs walking by. We had our niece & nephew & their two small children here for two weeks. I was very worried about Capone with the small children. He was awesome with them! They crawled on him, over him, & under him. He was completely calm & tolerant, & when they became too much for him, he got up & left the room to another part of the house. This is a dog that when I used to walk him in our neighborhood & eyed another dog anywhere on the street approaching, I would turn around & head the other way to avoid it. It was so stressful for both the dog & I. Now it's a pleasure to walk with him. He accompanies me on my 5-mile fitness walk on the bike trails & is totally calm & happy. When I think of it, it still brings a tear to my eye to think of what he lived like previously. We thought we just got a bad dog & wud have to live with his behavior. But there was an adorable, charming, obedient, happy, calm dog just waiting to be discovered. I read some of the other reviews and read that they found Teena abrupt or difficult. I have not had that experience at all. Teena is very direct. While her bedside manner maybe be less warm & fuzzy than some like, I like & appreciate the sometimes brutal honesty of the situation. After all, it really wasn't Capone's fault he was like he was; it was us, his owners & Teena made that apparent. I'm very grateful to Teena & all of her experienced staff for saving Capone & giving him his life back. My husband & I have owned approx. 17 dogs our entire lives and thought we knew what we were doing. After one two-hour introductory obedience class, my eyes were opened wide, and I realized that we hadn't a clue what our dogs REALLY needed. I have never enjoyed my dogs more than I do now & once they know what you want from them, all they want to do is please you. It's truly been an amazing experience. If you have any sort of issues with your dog, this is the place to take them. I know people say they can't afford it, but you can't afford not to (sorry for the cliche, but it's true). It doesn't take six months to turn these issues around. it's taken us just a little over 2 months to see this miraculous change in Capone, but we saw significant improvement from the very first day we took Capone to their doggy daycare. We adopted our dog, Henry, in the Summer of 2017. He was a 7-month-old puppy then and we knew nothing of his history - only that he was found outside. I have had a dog my entire life, so I knew the importance of socializing dogs from a young age. I would take Henry to public places and slowly noticed that he was not comfortable with strangers approaching or touching him. One day, a young child wanted to pet Henry and Henry snapped at the child (no harm done, the child was not bitten). At this point I realized I had a difficult dog - which I had never experienced before. Over time, I realized that Henry's intentions were not to harm, but that he just did not understand how to reign in his emotions/fears. And, I certainly did not have the tools to understand how to deal with a difficult dog. Well, we got lucky. In the Summer of 2018, we moved to Orlando so I could attend graduate school. As Henry's "stranger danger" outbursts got worse, I knew I needed to get him help. I found Doglando online and gave them a call. As a scientist, I was drawn to Doglando's systems-based (yet compassionate) approach to training dogs. Further, they included me in the training process to allow me to learn and understand how to deal with my difficult dog. As it turns out, Henry isn't difficult at all, he just has a different set of needs (cattle dogs need their space). And Doglando helped me to learn them! Henry has now been at Doglando for 3 years and every morning he noses the leashes as if to ask if it is a "school" day. I love that he gets to run around and stretch his legs in wide-open spaces just like a cattle dog would naturally do. He comes home tired and happy, which puts a smile on my face. Happy puppy, happy mama! Henry still does not like being approached suddenly by strangers (or knocks on the door), but with Doglando's skill-training we are now able to navigate situations in a safe and comfortable way. Henry looks to me for support and responds very quickly to learned commands (he is extremely treat-motivated). I highly recommend Doglando for any and all types of dogs. Henry was probably one of the more challenging cases and had to spend a lot of time learning the appropriate skills, but he has made it to Enrichment and I'm a proud dog-mama! But Doglando isn't just there for the dogs - they have many weekend events for puppy parents as well. If you're looking for a fun and interactive experience for you and your 4-legged friend, Doglando is the place for you! Not to mention, the campus is beautiful, and they are always working on making it even better (seriously, check it out!). The staff is friendly, they always remember every dog's name, and they will give you a run-down of how your pup's day went. As an added bonus, if you're a Tampa Bay Bucs fan, you'll find a friend here. Brady or no Brady - the Bucs are always on proud display. Finally, Doglando is heavily involved in community and world charitable causes. Every summer, they invite the young'uns to participate in Camp Doglando where they learn how to care for and train dogs. And, in the 3 years that we have been part of Doglando, I've seen them do work in places like Guatemala and Kenya helping both humans and animals alike! I personally enjoy being part of a community that, not only has my pup's interest at heart, but also finds it important to give back to the community (and the world). I first met Teena Patel in 2007 when we adopted a pup who had a bit of an attitude problem. We hired Teena for behavior modification/obedience training and four years later we still have the dog and he is a beloved member of our family. While he was enrolled in daycare at Doglando Teena's keen eye for the canine physique noticed some issues with his hips, and thanks to her feedback we were able to diagnose his hip dysplacia early enough for him to be a candidate for surgery which has improved his quality of life. I have two other dogs who visit the University of Doglando two times a week, and I'd have it no other way. As we get closer to the turn for the facility my dogs start to get excited in the car because they know we are close. The handlers at the facility treat my dogs with respect and I know they are well taken care of during the day. The staff reinforces training with my dogs and provide me honest feedback if there is any type of issue. I spend the money to feed my dogs organic, high quality food that is carried and sold by Doglando. It is convenient to pick up the food when I pick up my dogs. The boutique also sells other items including some great leashes. My husband and I picked up bike attachments one time that allow us to take dogs out for a bike ride, which is great exercise. I do not hesitate to board my dogs with the University of Doglando when I go out of town on vacation. My dogs know the staff and the staff know my dogs, and I rest easy knowing they are taken care of and that someone will call me if there are any issues. Teena Patel is well educated and leverages her knowledge of psychology in her work with canine behavior. She is one of the most philanthropic people I know, always contributing back into the community with hours of volunteer work and service. Teena has a very direct communication style and is a straight shooter, and I have great confidence in the advice and feedback she provides me in regards to my dogs. One of my dogs does not attend daycare, because the environment was too stimulating and stressful for him, so I just do not take him anymore. I was not offended by the information, I'd rather my dog be happy and not stressed out and found it stand up of Teena to not want to take my money and subject my dog to something bad for him. Teena has always provided me with great veterinary referrals, product advice and canine behavioral tips. There is an intake process at Doglando for new dogs, including temperament testing. There are rules to follow, and it is important that you follow these rules for the safety of all dogs and owners. The University of Doglando does appreciate its clientele and organizes events for clients and dogs to participate in throughout the year. I highly recommend the University of Doglando for someone looking for great doggie daycare. Cowboy was the first puppy I've ever had, and a crazy little Australian Shepherd at that! In looking around for some help in raising a puppy, I found Doglando- quite literally a little slice of Heaven for dogs, and the most wonderful "village" to support Cowboy and I in his development that I could have ever asked for! Cowboy started out at Doglando at around 5 months of age (he's 2 years old now), entering the Pre-K9 Level 1 program. This program involved him going 3 days a week, focusing on enrichment one day a week, skill building the other 2 days. Some of his skill building days consisted of recall, crate + pedestal exercises, physical handling (massage/settle, which he just eats up now), just to name a few! Along with the Pre-K9 Level 1 & 2 program, came weekly group classes, where I learned and worked on building a relationship with Cowboy, absorbing all of the training info to use throughout the week at home! Now at 2 years old, Cowboy and I are going on all sorts of off leash adventures, that I have more confidence embarking on with him than I could have ever imagined!! All thanks to the weekly Pre-K9 classes and the work we've been able to do on our own to further strengthen what we've learned. Doglando's Pre-K9 programs were quite honestly life-changing. They established a wonderful sense of community, and have educated me on so much regarding dogs' needs and the lifestyle for them Doglando lives by! If it weren't for them, Cowboy and I wouldn't have half the adventures and relationship we have today!! The staff at Doglando is so wonderful, they all love their job tremendously and want only the very best for the dogs- it shows big time! Cowboy is always so excited to see them at Doglando and out in public at any events!! He knows the turns that lead to Doglando all too well, sleeping peacefully in the car until we get to East Colonial, immediately sitting up in the seat, eager for us to pull into a parking spot and go see all of his favorite humans and dog friends! Along with, running around with giant sticks the handlers bring to his attention and of course meditating in the pond! All that being said, I could not recommend Doglando enough. This place is gods gift to earth. I'm sure of it. I have the sweetest hound dog named Pretzel, and before we started daycare at Doglando, he was a little crazy to say the least. At about a year old, he still hadn't calmed down at all from being a wild puppy, and with being a hound dog, their nose just takes over any training they have as soon as they step foot outdoors. We started off taking just their first class, which was the leash walking class. just a few short weeks and there was already such a difference in pretzel. I no longer had to worry about losing my arm when taking him for a walk! We had read a lot of reviews on training places throughout the Orlando area, and you can really tell that Doglando is different than the rest. After seeing so much success with this class, we went on to the next class, which is the AA program. yet again, all of the basic obedience skills are worked on and he did amazing, you could really tell improvement in him and all the other (used to be)wild dogs and puppies in the class! So, after this, we decided to start him in daycare! Pretzel goes three days a week and it is absolutely the greatest thing to ever happen to him. I now understand why parents never want their kids to move towns and leave their school, because that's how I feel about moving away and having to leave Doglando :( This place is truly a way of life, as I like to tell my friends and family. It is unlike any other training place I've ever heard of. every. single. moment. They are not just playing with your dog, but training them! I like to say pretzel goes to training three days a week, not daycare. There is always a hidden motive of training behind every single exercise they do with the dogs, all day long. I really invite you all to go out there and just ask for a quick tour of the property, and have them tell you about what its like for the dogs at daycare everyday. Trust me, you will never want to bring your dogs anywhere else. All of the staff know you and your family on a first name basis, and are always greeting you every time you arrive. Doglando is in my opinion the best place for dogs and dog lovers alike! From the moment we walked in with our puppy Bella we could tell this wasn't your average dog care facility. It is truly a dog paradise. The staff is incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and they really go above and beyond to make sure every dog feels right at home. Balla loves to come there. Bella from day one truly loved Nim, Kaylee, Leira and more..... great staff. Bella is happy to arrive and happy when we pick her up which tells us she is happy being there. The trainers at Doglando take the time to work with her one-on-one, providing tailored socialization techniques that transformed her from a shy puppy into a a way more confident, happy dog. The personalized care they offer is nothing short of remarkable. I think, whats sets Doglando apart is their focus on providing an enriching, natural environment for dogs. It's not just about daycare; it's about giving dogs the chance to roam, explore, and engage in activities that tap into their natural instincts. I loved watching Bella splash around in their lake and run freely on the large, open fields. University of Doglando is a doggy daycare that you will be hard pressed to find anything like it anywhere in Orlando. The staff truly cares about all of the dogs as if they were their own. I have a Sheepadoodle with tons of energy and he loves this place and is so excited when I drive down that long drive way so much so that he can hardly contain himself until I take him out of the car to his second favorite place in the world. This is a doggy daycare that does not just watch your dogs play. The staff actually works with your dog and teaches your dog skills that will help your dog and you and teaches your dog the proper way to interact with other dogs big and small. This doggy day care as acres of land for your dog to play and learn things. If the hours of 8:00am to 4:00pm that University of Doglando is open do not work with your schedule you can get set up to drop off your dog earlier and pick up your dog later with the staff (they are very accommodating with this). This is my second dog to attend University of Doglando. My first dog which was a Rottweiler, loved University of Doglando also and because I and my Rottweiler had such a great experience I decided to enroll my Sheepadoodle also. I trust my Sheepadoodle with University of Doglando and don't hesitate to bring him here because I know he is in good hands. read more

We started at Doglando a few weeks ago. I have a serious 'problem' puppy (whom I thankfully LOVE). He is unpredicable and quite a handful. I read all the reviews about Doglando and despite that long and somewhat negative review decided to give it a try. I am thankful I did. When we started, Tina was not there for the first couple of weeks. When I finally met her, I understood how that'bad' review came about. Tina is no joke. But you know what...I respect her and believe that she is going a great job. Yeah, I could see how someone would say she is not so big on people skills. I think it is simply that she is really focused on what she is doing and doesn't have the patience for nonsense or babying us. Think about it..if we fail, we end up abandoning our dogs or, worse yet, having them put down. The problem is not really our dogs, it's us and our commitment to doing what needs to be done. I expect Tina knows this and is fearless in doing what really needs to be done, despite our 'tender sensibilities'. The staff as a whole are very nice, knowledgable and willing to both talk and listen - Tina included...she just may not smile as much : ) I recommend Doglando. My dog is doing better and I have learned skills that will help us both. read more

I am a Veteran of Foreign War, I drop my dog off for daycare at the University of Doglando; that evening I went to pick her up the staff handed her to me and I was told by the staff she vomitted at noon because of her food change (which occurred two week prior). About two hours later ( at home) my dog had spasma and I took her to the Emergency Vet... just to be told she had either been posion or drop by the daycare and I had to put her down. Teena and her staff lied to me about what happen to my dog and delected the video footage of the crime. Teena disrepected and insulted me by blaming me and the breeder and told me to seek professional help. I filled out paper work that if my dog is injured/sick University of DoglandoI (which is not an animal hosptial) would take her to the vet. I feel my dog was harmed by University of Doglando and by Florida Recording Law Teena was suppose to keep the video surveillance. I am a Veteran of Foreign War who is now fighting a battle on my own land. My dog brought me so much joy, peace, and happiness... If my dog was human... Teena Patel would be arrested for "Manslaughter". read more

Our dog, Jack, has been attending the University of Doglando since April 2012. He is 11 months old, and weighs about four pounds. He is one of the smallest dogs at Doglando. From the beginning, my family and I have been impressed with the level of care given by the staff at Doglando. The variety of training and enrichment programs has helped us help Jack build his confidence, and his ability to handle various situations. We have been given the tools necessary to be better parents to Jack. Over the past seven months, I have seen significant progress in Jack's level of confidence and ability to handle unfamiliar situations. Each member of the Doglando team is dedicated to the well-being of the dogs to include their families. We are not just customers of Doglando. We are a part of the Doglando community, where each member is committed to being a responsible pet owner. My family and I are grateful for all the knowledge gained from the Doglando team. We got a puppy and quickly realized that our 2 older dogs were not up to the challenge of keeping up with our energetic and somewhat stubborn pup, Frank. We toured several doggy daycare establishments and knew that Doglando was the best place to bring Frank. Doglando's established techniques gave Frank (and our family!) the tools to nurture a truly remarkable relationship with our dog. Through enrichment (play) and skill building (training) that Doglando and their amazing trainers offer we have an adult dog we understand and trust and he, in turn, trusts us. Frank loves going to Doglando! Very excited when we approach the entrance. We love that he is well cared for, learns while he is there, and has FUN! Doglando is clean, spacious and organized. Ask questions, you will get answers (my questions have never been blown off or down played). If you are into positive reinforcement, then this is not the place for you. The facility is amazingly big and great for the energetic dog. However, these dog "trainers" I personally saw hit the dogs with their guiding sticks on their backs, heads and noses. I watched a poor little Australian terrier yelp after getting hit in the face with the stick. I also watched one of the bigger trainer girls bare hand a big Great Dane named Bella on the head very hard. It was shocking. They may say they don't use the sticks for hitting, BUT THEY DO. Trust me.. It is a great place and a great idea. Unfortunately they have a few bad eggs that hit dogs. It was very alarming and very sad. I stopped bringing my dog to Doglando because they hit my dog to the point where she would flinch when I pick up my fishing pole or my broom. In my opinion, they train through fear. Not positive reinforcement. I would NEVER take my dog to Doglando again. read more

For over 10 years, Doglando has been such an important part of our lives. They didn't just train our dogs, they trained us as humans too. The confidence, trust, and freedom they helped build between me and my dogs is something I'm endlessly grateful for. This past weekend I was able to take my dogs hiking in the mountains completely off leash with full confidence, and honestly, that kind of experience is priceless. Watching your dogs explore freely while knowing they are safe, responsive, and connected to you is such an incredible feeling. I truly cannot imagine our lives without the staff at Doglando. They have walked alongside us for so many years with patience, wisdom, encouragement, and genuine love for both dogs and people. What they've given us goes far beyond training. I initially loved Doglando. I thought the place is huge and clean and would be great for my dog. However, some of the rumors that I have heard became a reality during a tour that I went on of the facility after I had already paid for an assessment on my dog. As we were entered the outside section of Doglando, I saw a large female dog coach or trainer snap one of those walking sticks on a dogs face because it was barking. This shocked me to my core and I had no idea what to say or do. Lets say, the rest of the tour was quick and awkward. I am not sure if it was just a one time deal with them hitting dogs. But I did not want to take my chances, and I don't recommend anyone to as well. Very disappointed because I live very close and in an apartment. Doglando seems great but I don't want to run the risk of my dog (my child!!) being abused for barking. read more

The facility is great but don't expect a clean dog at the end of the day (lots of dirt in the back, not as much grass areas). People skills are far below par!!! This team does not have any commitment whatsoever to customer service. I went to pick up my 2 dogs after work and had to stand there and wait for the girl at the front to get off the phone. She was afraid to tell Teena, the owner, a customer was standing there waiting. She just made me stand there and wait as if I have nothing better to do. 20 minutes is a VERY long time when you're just standing there. I never plan to return. I've experienced better customer care at Wal-mart, sad to say. YES, I expect doggie care and human care for that price. I'm pro outrageous prices only if its worth it. We love this place. More importantly my dog loves this place. Canine enrichment is what they call it, and it's exactly what it is. When my dog started there, she hated the water and had zero off leash time due to apartment living. Now she loves to swim, knows how to behave in a boat, and I don't panic if she's off the leash. The staff is amazing, they know every dog and every owner by name. After the hurricane, they emailed to check on their patrons, and offered to help their customers clear debris. We are relocating across the country and they even made recommendations of good places for our pets that they knew of. Can't say enough good things about this place. read more

Ive done camp doglando for 5 years now and its has been an amazing experience. My dad doesnt like dogs so I was never able to adopt a dog of ny own. When I was 10 my mom found this camp for me to get time with dogs. It was amazing , I learned so many things. Finally after 3 years of doing camp and getting really good grades I was able to adopt a dog . Being at doglando helped me so much with training and raising my own dog. Know im going to highschool and made an application for the vet assistance class. We had to right and essay and with all I learned from doglando I was accepted. The camp and day care is amazing here. U of D is just what we need for our dogs. Dogs go to be dogs at U of D. 3.5 acres of pure heaven for your dog. We take our dogs 2 days a week, and for the personal service you receive this place is perfect. No kennels, no cages, this place is a home away from home for our dogs. Thank god Teena opened this business in East Orlando because we would be lost without it. Not only do they provide a cage free environment but they also are a green facility, using only natural products. Do check them out, a very community friendly business that does a lot of work with children and many different animal related charities. read more
