I brought my poor neglected dog here for some much needed grooming. I was late for my appointment and she was totally nice about it. A little funny sarcasm never hurt anyone. I was also late picking up my dog. I am sure she wanted to kill me but she was totally nice about the whole thing. She went above and beyond for my all white long haired Husky. My dog had a full summer coat to shed. She showed us a whole trashcan of just my dogs hair. I didn't even recognize my dog after getting her back because she looked so damn good. She was silky smooth and soft and her hair was whitened back to its original glow. I see some bad reviews here, and I have to understand that people make mistakes sometimes. But this is a lady who runs this place by herself and actually enjoys her walk. I saw a few dogs in here and they looked great and their owners were surprised. I'm sure this lady works her butt off for customer satisfaction, and she is getting mine today. To make a nice long story short, I came here on short notice, late and with a dog in pretty poor condition. it was embarrassing to let my dog get this way. The second to last time we brought our dog, he developed an ear infection which our vet said can be caused from water getting in his ear. And the last time we brought him we decided to give this place another chance. Our dog got home he seemed ok until we started playing catch with him and all of a sudden his paw started bleeding. I brought my fox terrier in whose fur had grown out for the winter and she had a lot of matting. I was actually embarrassed and was expecting a lecture. Lisa was pretty kind to me under the circumstances, for which I was grateful. I kind of hoped that she wouldn't shave the dog, although I know most places wouldn't take the time to work through the mats. I asked her to do what she thought was best. And this amazing woman worked all that matting out and produced the absolute best cut my dog has ever had. And her price was extremely reasonable for all that hard work! I was very disapointed with my experience here. I usually go to dog wash america in sierra madre, and decided to try dogs best friend because i was closer to where i moved. I took my 2 english bulldogs (one is still small and is a puppy), and it cost 90 $!!!!!! At dog wash america, i can get both washed for $50 or less. Not only did it cost 90, but they left still wet, one was still dirt when i pet him, they both had filthy ears, and their nails were not clipped. I was also called twice and told that i needed to come immediately to get them because the people working there wanted to go home, even though i had told them that i couldnt come back until 430 and they said that was fine. And then, once i left my previous engagement to get there early, there were still other dogs there waiting to go home!!!! So, $90 cost, still dirty and wet dogs, dirty ears, no nails clipped, and rude people. Not going back. read more

I've been taking my little guy Harry here consistently for 2 years. He is a senior dog at 11.5 years old and needs TLC with his arthritis. Lisa is kind and gentle to his needs. The washing area is most likely in the back somewhere. The owner (Lisa, I think) is very friendly and smiled. I've been to 'Bathe R Doggie' and didn't like the fact that they didn't even look me in the eye or greeted me when I brought my dog in. Lisa didn't seem rushed at all and gladly answered any questions we had. She told us that it would take 2.5 hours to get him groomed as she works on a first come-first serve basis. When we showed up to pick up Monster, he was clean as a rabbit! She said that he was extremely easy to groom and friendly. The grooming cost us $35 for a 50lb english bulldog. Lisa is an expert dog stylist, and she gives Ed a handsome makeover every time. Ed can be timid and gets intimidated by strange surroundings and other dogs barking loudly. I have been searching for a new groomer in Pasadena and have tried several. This was my first visit to this dog groomer and I was very pleased and happy with the experience. The price was a bit on the lower end for what Pasadena groomers charge for a Shih Tzu. I have paid a little less outside of Pasadena but I didn't want to keep having to drive 20 minutes to save $10. The place is small and simple but in a good location with parking. Lisa is a very good groomer. I was pleased with the cut she gave my dog without having to ask for any adjustments. He was ready at the time she said and my dog did not look stressed by the experience. I have received many compliments by how well my dog looks and every one agrees this is the best groom my dog has received in a long time. I will definitely continue to bring my dog here. I do suggest dropping your dog off early, she opens at 7am. I will do that next time so my pup doesn't have a long wait in the kennel. So I'd waited too long to get my Pom to the groomer's. Her undercoat was thoroughly matted--with one baby in the house and another on the way, I was guilty of some neglect in the dog-fussing-over department. Three other groomers had answered the phone huffily, only to assure me they couldn't fit me in till next week. Lisa had time for me that very morning; I brought in my darling dog with her Dr. Seuss-like coat, Lisa shook her head and said, "I might have to give her a GI Jane..." The shop was clean and the dogs there looked happy, so I said "OK, do what you have to." By that afternoon, I had one gorgeous and much happier little dog, who looked nothing like GI Jane but was cute as a button. Best grooming job we've had since moving to Pasadena three years ago. I had been taking my dog to this business for at least five years. They had always been great with her. But this last time she had four major cuts on her body and ear. Her ear took about 3 weeks to heal. I have yet to contact them about the issues but next time, IF I take her back (which will be never) i wilI have brought my dog here a couple times but these last 2 times were my last! Overall they don't do a very nice job cutting and styling my cocker spaniel. When i specifically asked them to not touch the head hair, they did it anyway and left the sides of her body uncut. With my other dog, yorkie mix, they told us to come in at 330 and when we went they told us that they couldn't do him in time and we had to leave. I was very disappointed with their attitude and how they wasted our time. I have found a new groomer and will not be coming back. Pet owners... do yourselves a favor a save yourselves the headache! do not bring your dogs here! read more

I brought my two Bichon's to this groomer on a recommendation. I dropped them off and then realized I hadn't told Lisa how I wanted them cut. I called immediately and told her I wanted to keep the round Teddy Bear faces, and a summer cut. She said she could certainly do that! When I came to pick them up I was in a hurry and noticed the summer cut, which was fine. When I got them both in the car I realized that both of them had puffs on the top of their heads, the round Teddy Bear cut was gone and the boy had no hair left on the back of his head or neck!! My little one also had a puff on top, no hair under her chin nor back of the head!!!! I gave this woman a tip to destroy the look they came in with! When I called her she told me that the boy was matted under his chin and behind his ears, and when I asked whey she clipped my little one the same strange way, she said "oh, well that's how I cut a round face." I was very upset and disappointed, as they went in looking fine and came out looking like small circus animals! It took a long time for their hair to grow into that cut, so now we have to wait. My husband and I took our dog here for the first time after several frustrating grooming experiences at Petsmart. Dog's Best Friend has a "first come, first served" policy: we dropped off our 20lb poodle-terrier mix around 8am, and picked him up around 2pm. He was crated when not being groomed, but that's fairly typical at small-business-type grooming places. The owner-operator was busy but very nice, and happy to answer my questions about pricing and grooming options. We paid $50 for a bath, cut, and nail trimming (which I think is a pretty good deal) and our dog came out VERY white and with a great cut. We'll absolutely come back here again. read more

I've used every groomer in town and there is no question Lisa is the best. Her mom was a groomer of championship poodles and this is still the facility used by owners of competition level dogs. Her prices are reasonable (don't compare an experienced groomer with some self-wash place!), perfectly clipped nails, anal glands expressed, ears cleaned and the cut appropriate to your breed. My dogs, who have since passed away, always ran eagerly in to see Lisa and came home fragrant, beautifully clipped and good to go for another month. read more

This place is horrible !!!!!!!!!!!! My dog went in today for the first time and when we pick him up his right eye was swollen and completely red!!! When the owner was confronted about the dogs injury she was completely rude and said she was not aware of anything ! So we take the dog to the vet and they told us that he was bleeding from they due to blunt trauma ! Anger by finding out the dog was Harass we go back to the groomers with a humane society officer and confront the owner again and she then admitted to hitting him because the dog scratched her!!!! To put the cherry on the top the cashier attempts to attack my friends mom. I can'e believe this place has so many good reviews. I took my miniature poodle here and she got the worst hair cut EVER! I'm not sure if there was a language barrier or something but I specifically told the guy I did not want my dogs hair SHORT! When I picked her up it looked liked he just shaved her body and left the legs long-didnt even tough them. I stayed and waited till after closing till he could get the cut somewhat decent. Also, poodles are supposed to be blown out and straight when groomed, however she was curly, ears still dirty, and nails not clipped. I went because of the price of 40 dollars but spent another 60 at a good groomer to fix the horrendous cut. There are good grooming shops in the area but this is definitely not one!!! read more
