I'm not sure what has happened to this place. It use to be amazing. I was very comfortable bringing my dog here. They were always amazing. The last time I came the groomer was so rude to me. I made an appointment for today. I just walked out. A different groomer was extremely rude and told me she won't give my dog the groom I want. Look into your records it's the same groom he always gets. I will not be back. So disappointing when you have trusted a place for 15 years and now I need to find a new groomer. read more

I've brought my fur child here a few times and she always comes back looking like a pup. She's a 15 year old Yorkie mix and she requires some delicate care because of her arthritis. Although the actual grooming was good, I will not be going back. The service was terrible due to the owner. I spoke to both the groomer and receptionist the day before to talk about pricing. Although it was more expensive than the place I usually go I went there anyways because I had a coupon. They flat out lied about the fees and tacked them on in addition to the quote of $100-$120 for a "large" dog. When we got there she said he was much smaller than other samoyeds. When I picked him up she said he was the most well behaved and only took 4 hours which she said was the average for any dog not just a heavy coat dog like a Samoyed. The owner charged me $150. When I mentioned what I was quoted she said "oh it must have spoke to the receptionist ". I spoke to the receptionist AND the groomer. And even if it had only been the receptionist, that's an employee and she should not be giving out apparently false pricing information. If you want equal quality and a good price go to groom and play up by sand canyon. For a Samoyed it's $100 always! And then I give a good tip and it's still much less than this was. I won't be back because as they sat and negotiated pricing right in front of me instead of consulting a set price sheet or something it was so rude. Not to mention awkward. They didn't know how to enter in the coupon I had with me. And they made me feel like I was insane to be upset. I didn't get angry. I said go ahead and charge it but I won't be coming back. At groom and play I'm sure they work just as hard but they do it with smiles and never make you feel like they just performed slave labor or guilt you into paying for something you didn't agree to. Of course I appreciate the process. If you must go here ask for dev. She did a beautiful job. But the owner is not someone I want to give my business to. Wish you and your pets well. My dog visited here twice the first time the groomer charged me 130 and said if I booked early every three weeks he would be able to give me a better deal in the grooming. Prior to leaving this salon I booked on his schedule within three weeks with him again and he tells me when I pick my dog up that I owe him 140.00 now. I reminded him of my pre-booking and him encourage me to do so to save money and also have my dog well-maintained. He says he should appreciate that and thanks for letting him know that but he still 140. I said I didn't bring $140 to the salon today and he says well I'm not getting my dog back and then I had to go to the police station to get my dog back. Of course someone who would play this game and hold your kids (dog) hostage and not honor there words is just someone I could absolutely not recommend. I spoke with Mike prior to taking Max in to be groomed here to get pricing and info about making a same day appointment. He responded promptly with courtesy and grace, giving me everything I needed to know! I called soon after and was able to take him in right then and there on Friday afternoon. The staff there was very friendly and patient despite how busy they were. Max is a long hair dachshund and we like his fur to be cut a very specific way. Our groomer was amazing with Max & was able to give him the perfect look in only an hour and a half. That was amazing time considering he was pretty overgrown. I was really happy with their service! I brought in my 7-month old puppy and he has been pretty difficult with other groomers because he's so shy and anxious and it's not good for him but they got him to warm up and be very comfortable during his grooming and walked out a relaxed puppy with a trim I'm very happy about. I can't remember the name of the wonderful employee who groomed him but he's a big scaredy cat and was very adjusting for his anxious needs and called me to ask what they should do when he was having difficulty getting used to the clippers then we both proceed that a simple trim with scissors was the better move and overall I was happy my puppy still had his scrappy look but with more charm! read more

We LOVE Nicholas as Dogs Etc and so do our fur bombs! Nicholas is so great with our husky mix, and our malamute (who has never stopped shedding since the day he was born, apparently). They love seeing him, and he takes awesome care of them with the full-on pampering spa treatment: wash, de-shedding treatment, brush out (he gets his work out with our mal), nail trim, glands expressed, spritz of cologne to smell fantastic! (Completely the opposite of what they smell like at drop off, lol) We've always trusted all of our dogs here, first and foremost, and Dogs Etc is a local business with terrific groomers, and they have been for so many years. You may find cheaper at big chain places (pet stores, etc) but your pups won't get the attention to detail and enjoy the process like they do here. This will be long soooo TL;dr - 10/10 recommend. My dogs are my babies and I have always had fear around taking them both to the groomer but our experience at & the quality of the service was very reassuring. I will be bringing both of my pups back for future grooming needs. Brought both my puppers here today & from start to finish it was a great experience. When I saw this place on Yelp I was genuinely skeptical because they have very few reviews that aren't 5 stars and their website was sending back a 404 error code. It felt a little fishy but I decided to go with it anyway. I called on Monday & was able to get an appointment for Wednesday, I appreciate the appointment availability. Past all of that one of my biggest reservations around groomers is that they'll try to shave my German Shepard, like I've heard so many horror stories from other GSD owners. But as soon as I said my pups breed the woman on the phone said "okay, so no shave" and that was what sold it for me. I didn't even have to ask or verify that they wouldn't try to shave her & that meant a lot. The staff was also more than willing and prepared to help my small nervous butt of a dog get his nails trimmed. He can be fearfully reactive around strangers but the staff was well prepared and Nathan (I hope I have his name right, I'm so bad at names) was beyond patient and knew exactly how to coax my brown dog into the salon. Both of my dogs returned to me happy and the services rendered were well preformed. Their COVID precautions are great, no clients aloud in the building so you call when you arrive for drop off & pickup but they are timely about answering the phone and communicating as needed. 10/10 recommend this place! read more

I took both my English bulldogs here (8 month old puppies) super sweet and gentle. When I came back an hour later the groomer told me my female was super aggressive and did not want to get dried. This has never happened before at any groomer I've taken her to. In addition my dog had a bloody nose and the groomer tried telling me it was because my dog was old and may have cancer?? WTF!... either way when I bright my dog home my female was bit like herself, was shaking and scared of me going eat her submitting and laying in her back, very lethargic and didn't want to eat. I don't know what they did to her but I feel the may have mistreated here. I won't ever take her back. read more

My dog Roxy is a Newfie/retriever mix with a beautiful long black coat, but some areas were a little long and unruly and needed trimming. I was worried that they might go "cut happy" and take the "all or nothing" approach (as has been my experience at another SC location), but they did a scissor trim and made her look good.
