This place is very rough on the dogs and overpriced. I've taken both of my puppies here and both times they have been really scared when I picked them up and just yesterday I picked up my yorkiepoo and he had a huge cut on his inner thigh that I was not even told about! When I was dropping him off one of the groomers was dragging a larger dog to the back. They are not gentle and come off very unprofessional. read more

Used to love this place but I will have to look for a new groomers. I've taken my yorkiepoo three times here. The first 2 times, he was groomed with Debbie. She was awesome! I was told she no longer worked there and instead recommended me to Joan. Well that was a big mistake! She should not be working there. I left my dog at 11am. I called in at 3pm (Debbie would usually have him ready by then), only to be told it would be another hour! 5 hours on a 15lb Yorkie poodle is insane. So I told them I would be there in 10 min. Well when I arrived Joan was barely starting to shave him down. Let's just say terrible isn't the right word to describe how she left him, since she was rushing. He was super patchy and not trimmed around the face. So when I told her to fix it, I had to wait yet another half hour. She trimmed him down even shorter than I asked to fix the patchiness, which only left him even worse. Not to mention, she or someone there scratched his eye! My dog was not able to open his eye the rest of the day. I had to purchase saline eye drops and monitor his eye, which thankfully resolved but could have ended in a hefty vet bill. Whoever runs this establishment needs to monitor grooming time and have better management. Not to mention I still paid full price for that crap. Joans excuse was she took 2 other dogs before mine .. then why the hell put me down for 11 am if she will not take him till hours later... read more

Sherri is now and has been for the past year been cleaning dogs out of her garage in Valencia. She has called me several times to come to her house, so she must have taken phone records when she left Dogs-Etc, but I think its shady that she has no permit's or license so I stay away. I used to adore Dogs Etc. We started using Dogs Etc. when we moved to the SCV in 2006. We started using them because they were right across the street from where we lived. Any grooming facility is only as good as its groomers and we had the most amazing groomer, Elisa. No matter how overgrown our dog was, she had him looking amazing when she was finished. She never complained about him being overgrown or matted and she didn't take the easy route and insist that he needed to be shaved. Whatever length we asked her to leave his coat, she did. And she did a fantastic job. Elisa quit Dogs Etc. and we were assigned a new groomer (don't know her name). The new groomer complained about our dog's coat and said she would have to shave him. Weird, Elisa never seemed to have a problem with his coat. My husband dropped off our dog. If I was there, I would have protested and probably left with my dog. So the groomer shaved our dog down to the bare minimum. He still had fur, but had she shaved him any shorter, we would have seen skin. We tried to give Dogs Etc. one more try. They tried to stick us with the same groomer, but I asked for a different one. They hemmed and hawed and said they could get us in the following week, although I was never clear if it was with the same groomer or someone different. I never went back. Dogs Etc. always kept our dog for a crazy long time, usually 7 hours and once they kept him for 9 hours. Ridiculous. I found a different grooming facility altogether that I'm happy with so far. My dog was in and out in under 4 hours and the groomer did exactly what I asked. It's a shame about Dogs Etc. because I really did love this place at one time and the lady that owns this place seems like a sweetheart. My preference would have been to give them 2 1/2 stars, but that's not an option, so I gave them 2. read more

I always drive by Dogs Etc since I work in the area. My old dog groomer recently shut down, so about a month ago I decided to give them a try. I was a walk in and was happy when they said they could take my dog. A woman took my little pup and plopped her on a table with another dog already being groomed and began shaving a small area, asking me how short I wanted it. This threw me off a bit since my dog isn't so friendly with other dogs, I was secretly hoping she wouldn't attack. Anyways, originally I was told it would take about 5 hours (wow) to finish grooming her.. I told them I needed her to be finished earlier, and they said they could make it happen (they did!). 3 hours later, I came back to pick up my dog. Her ears were brushed out, but not cut or trimmed at all like I asked, everything else was alright. But everyone was pretty friendly and said bye to her, so I didn't make a big deal about her cut. I didn't notice until half way home that my car seat was wet. I picked up my dog and was shocked to see that she had urine all over the bottom of her. She had been sitting in the cage in her own (hopefully her own) urine. I was disgusted that not a single person that was working there didn't notice what had happened. I didn't call them to complain, I just washed her off when we got home. But I think that everyone needs to know that this happened. Needless to say, I will never be bringing my dog back to Dogs Etc. read more

I brought my dog here today and it took them NINE HOURS to cut my tiny dog's hair. they say they are busy but maybe if they didn't overbook themselves, they wouldn't have to keep my dog for an entire day. It was just so greedy. Also, they lost my dogs collar and decided to sit and be extremely rude about it. I just felt so bad that my poor dog was in a cage for nine hours. We are new to the area and selecting a place to have our Goldendoodle groomed seemed like "finding a needle in the haystack" A bad haircut takes time to grow out or correct so were considering taking him back to LA.
