Stopped here during one of my coffee compass stops. I used to live in the area and never really explored this side of lake street/marshall much. Lots of options on the menu, I was looking for the seasonal drinks but didn't realize until after I ordered they were indeed on the main menu. I ended up getting an iced vanilla macchiato and an iced matcha. The Matcha did have some small chunks but overall the drinks were good. They have plenty of tables to sit and some outside as well on the sidewalk patio. Parking was street as far as I could tell. Generally a decent coffee shop if you're in the area. read more

I haven't been to this location since it was first open and boy has the space changed. For the better I should add. The coffee is still some of the best in the city. If I am not in the mood to explore and want a guaranteed good coffee any dogwood location is perfect including this one. The coffee is always great and the baristas always know what they are doing. This location in particular isn't the biggest but has a lot of booths for anyone working from home might want to hide themselves away. They also have one large table if you have a big group. The one thing it's missing in my book is a couch or more lounging seating for the coffee shop readers like me. Dogwood is in my top 2 (or 3) in the city! read more

Dogwood is my go-to coffee place, their coffee has such a nice smooth flavor that I find hard to get at other places. I only ever get lattes because I love them so much! I am usually there around 7am on my way to work so service is usually quick since not many other people are there yet but I have seen the line get pretty long later in the day, especially on weekends. The shop itself is spacious with decent amount of seating and eye catching decorations. They also have current newspapers which I really enjoy, especially when there is a bit of a wait. read more

The coffee and pastries are very good, and there is a decent (but not large) selection of non coffee options as well. Service is generally friendly though a few time I can tell that the staff were annoyed for something or other, and therefore were not the friendliest, but never unfriendly. The space is decent but it's a popular place, so finding a spot to sit has at times been a challenge. I like it. read more

I have been wanting to get to Dogwood for a while after hearing such great things about it! I stuck with one of my favorite things to get at a coffee shop, the hot lavender latte and it was one of the best I have had in a while,. The perfect amount of foam and a silky texture from the milk, it was perfect! I will definitely be coming back. Whoa this coffee shop was busy on a Sunday morning! There was a line of about 8-10 people ahead of me and we waited about 15-20 minutes to order. Definitely worth the wait because I loved my seasonal drink! I ordered the "camper latte" which was a smoked maple latte with oat milk and wow was it so unique! Never thought I'd like the taste of a smoky latte, it pairs perfectly with the deep flavors of the espresso. The passion fruit cronut was pretty good but I likely wouldn't get it again because of the price. Chocolate croissant was a hit! No parking lot but plenty of free parking spaces nearby, quite a lot of folks here with laptops doing work. read more

Miserable employees the last time I was there. I overhead them complaining about their customers (and not discretely) and griping they had to work a holiday. I recently visited Dogwood Coffee in South Minneapolis for a cozy winter day. Drinks/food: the drinks are what you would expect, typical coffee shop. The food menu is small. Not sure if it was the time of day i went but options were limited to a sandwich, cookies, and a few others. Parking- this is a down fall. You will need to park on the street and walk which can be difficult given the snow in the winter. Seating- this location does get busy. We were able to snag a booth. Dogwood Coffee in Longfellow neighborhood is super cute!! It's adorned with unique art pieces (both inside and outside), sprinkled with tables that have individual vintage desk-lights that can be turned on/ off in the front of the store, and has a very funk-art meets trendy vintage feel to it. The space was quiet when my friend and I came in mid-afternoon on a rainy Wednesday, although there were some people in the shop when we came in. It was quite peaceful and the barista was patient/ friendly with us as we ordered...he was super helpful in walking me through all the tea/ coffee options I was choosing between before ordering and let my friend try a bit of kombucha before buying. I ended up ordering a Jade-Cloud tea, and my friend had the kombucha on tap. The Jade Cloud was bright and floral with the sweetness of honey that was added in. I really appreciated that it was loose leaf- as usually that makes the tea more flavorful (in my opinion); for the price however - $5 before tip - I think they could have improved the presentation of the tea so that it was more of an 'experience.' Maybe serve it in a tray that has a tea pot allowing customers to steep the tea and add a timer as well as a tiny cup of honey on the side that customers can use to add honey to their liking as they're drinking their tea? Just a thought! The kombucha was delicious! It tasted similar to a sour beer with a touch of basil and fruity notes. Dogwood is a spot I would recommend if you're looking for a quiet spot to get work done or have a casual, relaxed conversation with someone. It's trendy, relaxed, and has a warm atmosphere! Love Dogwood!! The past few times I normally get the same thing, iced caramel latte. It never disappoints! This has become one of my go to places to work in a public space and not be cooped up inside every day working from home. There are booths, tables, and bar seating. All with accessible plugs. I loved this cafe so much! We came here on a weekend afternoon to read/study. It was pretty busy but we were able to find a table. They have little 2 person booth seating in the center which was really cute. I don't like coffee so I was very impressed with their non-coffee options. The variety of different chais alone was amazing. I got one of the chais and it was delicious. The merchandise is all very cute. They have some pastries if you're hungry. Overall, a very cute cafe to check out and I think this would be a great place to work for a bit if you're remote! read more

I think the coffee at dogwood is excellent. I just ordered the regular drip coffee. What I didn't love about this location was the ambiance. I was there working on my projects on my laptop and didn't feel that there were too many areas to sit although some of that was because it was busy that day. Overall the coffee is excellent but if you need space for getting work done I'd likely chose one of their other locations. read more

It's a really good place to get a cup of coffee. I have also gotten a beer and that was also quite enjoyable. My favorite drink isn't available anymore or I would wax poetically on and on about it. I like this place better than Five Watt because of the more private and cozy environment. There's a divider so my party of three was able to carry on a conference call without interrupting the other patrons. The decor in here is cool too with a pink espresso machine and feminine-influenced wall paper. Indie folk plays in the background and my barista was sweet, helpful and made me feel welcome. MN brews get a lot of the limelight but our local coffee scene could contend with the best of them. Dogwood has a few locations around town but my personal favorite is the Longfellow joint. Bright, spacious, and easy parking are why I prefer this location. They've got a great selection of coffee and crafted drinks or if you are a fresh roasted bean lover, they've got plenty of flavors, and strengths for you to choose from. I went here to meet up with someone for coffee and conversation. There didn't seem to be a parking lot so I parked on the street around the corner. A quick walk and I was into the super cool coffee shop. It's had an old Classes car looking snowmobile on the wall. The order counter looked like a 50's diner. The booths were wood, had a lamp with a light switch so you could pick your lighting/mood and outlets if you wanted to charge up or hang out and work for a while. I ordered the baby bear which was a very sweet coffee made with molasses and I would definitely order it again. The music wasn't overbearing and had a great genre mix. One of the guys working also brought us a little shot of flavored soda water which was nice after I finished my coffee. I will definitely keep this place in mind as a future coffee date or work space spot :) read more

Hands down the best coffee shop in the Twin Cities. Having spent decades of my life in coffee shops in Austin, LA and SF, I admittedly have been spoiled by some fantastic spots. So I've been a bit underwhelmed by what I've found here in Minneapolis. But Dogwood changed that on my first visit. I love it so much I ride my bike all the way from St Louis Park just to come here. Best coffee, tons of great seating options, it is NEVER too crowded to get a good place to camp out for a few hours, the baristas are super nice, and they play THE BEST music. It's been years since I've been to a coffee shop with music this consistently great. Every single barista has amazing taste. I honestly don't understand why this place isn't just slammed 24/7. I Austin it would have blown up in about 4 days with a line out the door half the day. The only way it could be better is if it was closer to me on the West side. The NE location is good too, but this one is just absolutely perfect. read more
