I've been here a few times for coffee. Like their pastries, breakfast burrito and coffee drinks. Folks at the counter who take orders are so nice, and the place has a nice vibe. Also love their outdoor patio when it's nice out. I've always been able to get on street parking. It's expensive, but all places are right now. Also love the notebook they have at the counter with the question of the day that you can write in. So clever! read more

I've been a big fan of this business since they were in their old location. But the owners really seem to know what they're doing and I really like how they put in obvious effort to try to emphasize a good, welcoming sense of community that somehow doesn't seem to feel very stressful as a sometimes customer. The coffee is solid, and I really appreciate that they offer NA beer--big fan of that option. Haven't tried the wine yet, but the bar setup looks inviting. Now for the food: if you're really hungry, this might not be your go-to. I've tried the olives (meh) and the breakfast burrito, which lacked flavor and freshness. The burrito seemed microwaved--parts of the tortilla were hard, which took away from the experience. I ended up at Sisters' Sludge on a Saturday evening around 6ish with a few friends. It wasn't too busy and we were able to claim the two sofas by the faux fireplace on the bar side. It was a comfy spot! The woman pouring wine was funny and made light jokes, which I enjoyed! Sisters Sludge has a nice selection of wines and me and my companions all enjoyed the wines we chose. I feel like most places will have your standard Guinness and coors light, but they had several local breweries on tap. Two of them were working this morning and were cheerful, friendly, and warm. The menu had a lot of creative drinks that sounded delicious and thoughtfully crafted, but to be honest I'm a bit of a plain Jane when it comes to coffee. If you're into unique drinks on the sweet side there are lots of options here for sure! They had food options and pastries but I didn't try any this day. Also it's a wine bar later in the day! I have only really taken advantage of the "coffee cafe" part of the name so I will only comment on that. I've been here twice now and have really enjoyed the ample seating area that are both good places to work and places to meet up and talk with a friend. I like how both the coffeeshop and wine bar area is open regardless of what kind of drink you get. I personally like sitting at the wine bar side because there is more seating and bigger tables. The drinks I would say are on the sweet side which I don't have a problem with. I had their snickerdoodle white chocolate mocha and that was pretty good. The shortbread in their pastry display (I got espresso and lemon) was not as flavorful as I wanted but would probably have gone better with a different drink. Their chai wasn't that great (a little on the watery side) but it did come with the tea bag so maybe just needed to let it steep longer. Street parking is free and plentiful, haven't had a problem finding parking. The small lot next to the building doesn't belong to them so be aware to not park there and park on the street instead. read more

Unfortunately, the bar seating in Cafe area is where the servers suits the orders for the other costumers. That area is particularly clutter, compared to the other seating areas. I liked how the place is split in 2 when you walk in the door, although it might be confusing at first. It's a nice breath of fresh air to the Corcoran neighborhood in both ambiance and food/drink. Food menu is simple and small but it contains the essentials that would pair well with a glass of wine. Think baked brie, beet salad, etc. The coffee side is spacious and offers ample seating. I'm picky about my coffee shops. This one was just down the street from me but has since moved. I decided it was about time to check out the new location. There new space was much better than here old that's for sure. Plenty of seating both tables and good reading chairs. The tea I had was pretty good but too be honest when it comes to coffee shops I'm more into the space than anything. Sisters' Sludge is a lovely little coffee and wine bar located in south Minneapolis! When I went before COVID, they had a nice happy hour on their wines, and it was pleasant to sit in the cafe and gaze at the local artwork. Now that we're dealing with COVID, the staff has been very proactive about wearing masks, social distancing, and sanitizing. They only allow guests to sit outside now, but that's cool because they do have a cute patio with lots of pretty flowers. I always get their cold brew when I go and its very tasty. The one thing I wish Sisters' Sludge had more of was gluten free treats (Maybe do a partnership with Sift? Or just bring in some packaged GF bakery). Otherwise, I am a fan and hope they remain open throughout COVID! read more

I'm thrilled to have this coffee shop close to our house. We stopped in today with the little darlings. They have nice treats that are appropriately sized and not enormous, which I appreciate. I got an Americano which had too much water and they were out of heavy cream which was sad for me, but it wasn't bad. Just not to my taste. Next time I'll be more specific when I order. My husband got a macchiato, which he said was good. The children enjoyed chocolate cookies. So on one side is the coffee ordering area and on the other side has a bar. There are big fire place heaters on both side, so it's nice and cozy. My husband felt I needed a glass of wine, so I ended up with a delicious Malbec. It was lovely and best of all, served at the perfect temperature by a personable bartender. Staff were personable and kind even to our children. We met Scott (bartender and husband of one of the sisters) and he gave us a run down of the offerings and a bit of history on the place.
