Stopped in after my run along the river as I planned to grab some baked goods Nextdoor at Asa's and was so excited to see this coffee shop I've heard nothing but wonderful things about was right Nextdoor. I popped in right before close and it was still pretty busy with people waiting for their goodies. I had the Morris Park (spiced vanilla latte) and it was the perfect amount for sweet and spice. Going to coffee shops on Sunday is one of my most enjoyable activities, especially new ones. I stopped by on a Sunday and glad I did. It is a cool tiny shot that is best for grab and go; some seating outside in the front to hang out for a little. I ordered a Cardamom Cortado; it was creamy rich and strong - well balanced! The guys in there were super nice will definitely come back for their service alone. I am curious to try some of their breakfast sandwiches and their season Pumpkin Pie latte [ Can't wait]. About as enjoyable as a Starbucks. Actually...both less and more. First off, a coffee shop has to be about the coffee. I ordered my standard Americano, and it was...slightly better than Starbucks. Not much better, but some. Now I appreciate a small coffee shop with personable service that doesn't come across as a soulless corporate hell hole, but...Two Adirondack chairs inside and two outside made me yearn for at least a small table and a couple of more chairs. I mean, about as much seating as a coffee cart. Now the food. Not a huge fan of toaster strudel that you get at Starbucks, but at least they have some. Crema has a tray with some limited options. And don't get me started on the soft serve they sell as some luxury treat. That's called DQ, but DQ does it better. They were nice. Coffee was (sort of) better than Starbucks. Three stars. I honestly like that it doesn't have any seating inside: just a takeout only spot. There are a few Adirondack chairs outside on the sidewalk through! The store had the most beautiful mural that had such beautiful vibrant colors- instantly put you in a good mood. Every drink I've had so far was made with love and most importantly was delicious! They have delicious pastries but I've noticed they can sell out so make sure to get there early if you want a Marc Heu croissant! Can always head next door to Asa's if they're out though :) The ambiance is bright and cheerful and airy inside- full of gorgeous plants and the walls are painted with fun colors that remind me of the fun artistic rugs at IKEA. Haven't had the gelato, so can't speak to that, but you can't go wrong going here for coffee. Crema is my absolute favorite place! They have a great selection of coffee flavors with some unique ones such as the "Keewaydin" with rose and cardamom. In addition the espresso is delightfully smooth and their cold brew is a nice balance of fruity and chocolatey. They also have the best variety of croissants ever (however you will need to get up early to snag one lol). I also really appreciate how much they've integrated themselves into they neighborhood despite the small space with the use of neighborhoods as drink names, the addition of the community board, and even the employees + owners who always remember and chat with regulars. Such a welcoming place! I highly recommend trying a miel from them as they have truly perfect the cinnamon to honey ratio for both hot and iced. The salted caramel cold brew is also a favorite, but trust, anything will be great. (Also check out the rotating soft serve flavors!) read more
