Studying with Master Dolby has helped me since I was little and I see the same positive results for my son.

My wife and I train here as well as help with the kids classes. The kids classes: Professor Dimitrios keeps the kids attention by keeping it fun but engaging. Our kids have progressed so much in the time they have trained here I recommend this academy to all my friends and coworkers with children. Self defense as well as antibullying is taught here. Kids confidence grows and we are so happy with the kids progress. THE ADULT CLASS Has been a life changing experience for my wife and I. There's so much to learn it's like chess for the body. All the movements and how they connect into a very practical art that can be utilized for self defense and sport. Health and self defense benefits aside the academy has been a place where we have gained many friendships with those who train here. Professor Dimitrios and the other coaches are very knowledgeable in the art. I have done open mat sparring at other gyms since starting here at DMBJJ and always get complimented on techniques i use or how I hold up to higher belts from other gyms... that is a testament to the knowledge Professor disperses to us and the kids.. This is a great academy! Come on in a try a class!

At this point, we were feeling a little defeated, but they were willing to let us come in and watch a class before letting them do their free trial. The person that is in charge of their Instagram was also very responsive and helpful with all the questions that I had. The gym has a small parking lot, but I have never had an issue finding a place to park. The gym is clean and straightforward and the staff is all very kind. I really appreciate how the staff manages to instruct children with an approach that allows them to learn the technical skills and still have fun. I won't mention the name of the other gym we visited, but it just seemed like a free-for-all with no direct instruction. The staff managed to successfully split their attention and instruction to all the kids that are in the class, which I think is great. The vibes of the gym are also much more welcoming than the other places that we had visited and their hours work very well for parents and children. Five stars all around, we're very happy here!

My son, even after all these years, continues to learn not only jiu jitsu, but sportsmanship, discipline, and respect. We feel confident now that our child would be able to defend himself if needed. We highly recommend to parents. You can attend Monday-Saturday (Friday competition class with approval and Saturday parent and child class) if you truly wanted to. We have been involved in several sports in the area and you really can't beat the value of this gym.

The classes are small so you feel more connected with the other students and the instructors. Aside from the physical part of learning martial arts, they instill good values and discipline. The instructors and Sifu are so genuine and caring, even when being strict you know they truly care. The kids get tested to rank up and the ceremony for ranking up is pretty entertaining, but the kids certainly feel the significance of it and the recognition for their hard work. The studio currently offers in person and online classes which is convenient. With chairs and benches in the studio, you can stay and watch. It is a small studio so it can get pretty cozy in there. Students are expected to wear either their uniform or the studio's shirt, along with their sash. The material can be stiff, so if your kiddo is fabric sensitive like mine, wash the garment lots and use sandpaper to get the worn in texture. We've had to purchase the sparring gloves and helmet and carrying bag just before pandemic and have yet to use them since they've returned to the studio. I'm hoping it'll still fit when my kiddo can start using it. I'm happy my kiddo is so committed to kung fu, studio and the instructors, and the friends he's made there. My ONLY indirect complaint is that the reception for my cell service sucks in that area, which shouldn't matter...but you all know what I mean!

Quick shoutout to Diego, David, and Herbert for always being great! The space itself is really well put together and has a great vibe that actually makes you want to work out. The biggest thing for me is that it rarely feels overcrowded. Even during busier times, I've never had to wait long for a machine or a rack, which was a constant frustration at my old gym. I honestly wish I switched sooner. Completely worth it so far.

I've been a member for a year and a half and it was time for me to say goodbye. I think this gym…read morehas a ton of potential of being okay to great, but it starts with the owners (which I believe in them - and I'll get to that later. Given that I've been a member for quite some time, I've observed so many things about this gym: the good, the not so ok Let's start with the good: - Equipment: Definitely top notch equipment - Outdoor Area: I didn't like it at first, but once you start going every so often you just get this different energy (plus we need more Vitamin D!) - Innovative: This gym is growing; I remember when it was just two workout areas, now expanded to 5 total as well as a sauna (free), a barbershop, a soon to be coffee shop, and a recovery room (additional pay). Oh and pilates! The not so ok: - Turnover: There's been a high turnover of employees, and I think this is where it starts with the owners. Granted, the owners from what I'm noticing are learning and they're only going to get better. But I feel like there's been a high turnover in the last year and a half so that says something. - Lack of Communication from Higher Ups: Again, every time I would speak to a worker, they know nothing about what's happening to the gym. As if, the gym is kept top secret. I just feel like there's a disconnect there, and should have more transparency with the owners and to the employees. - The vibe is preference. Some may like it some may not. I liked it at first, but recently it's starting to give me that 24 hour fitness vibe or EOS (used to be golds in Cerritos) vibe with "influencers" shirtless left and right filming. Filming is OK at this gym so they're setting the standard for that. But, I guess it just makes it awkward for someone like myself if I'm in someones film unintentionally. It's like I need to cater my workout so they can get the best footage. - I think for the price now ($179) they should serve towels, probably do better on maintenance like their drinking fountain, and heck even offer free pilates. If you think about it, club studio and other gyms are in this price range and all the classes are free. So maybe there's something to explore there I'm unsure. But if we're looking at the competitive landscape, at $179, there has to be some form of distinguisher, and top notch equipment can't just be it. Also, going back to employees. David here has been the longest one and I feel like this guy should have some form of ownership, or promotion. This was the only guy in my 1 and half years of being here that went above and beyond at the front desk. I remember he was genuinely concerned about my overall being (had surgery), and gave me options (freezing my account) before even closing it. Every other front desk is just "hi" "bye" "I don't know." But this guy really cares about the customers at the gym. And to the owners, you guys are trying I see that. And I can definitely see you guys improving and making adjustments. Just recently, you closed all membership, and that's because you want to make some changes for the better. I really do hope this gym continues to get better. But for me, the chapter has ended! Thanks All One!
