I hate this gosh dang location, but that's just because I hate Hollywood in general. I've been to this theater once a long, long time ago for a Kingdom Hearts concert and made the mistake of driving. I believe they have parking validation if you're here for a concert or spend money??? But not sure how it works nowadays. The problem at the time was, if you park here for a concert, it will take a long time to exit the structure since everyone else is trying to leave at the same time too...I think I was stuck here for like two hours after the concert literally because the traffic out was so bad. This time around I took the metro...which is really sketch on it's own, but reasonably prices and convenient. I didn't have the greatest seats for this showing, but was still glad to be there. Bathrooms are clean and security does a good job of getting you in pretty fast while doing a decent job of checking all your stuff.

We were fortunate to get tickets to the Dolby Theatre for Kelly & Mark after the Oscar live show on the red carpet. The Dolby Theatre was formerly name the Kodak Theatre, this is a historic building that open it doors in Nov.09 2001 it has a five levels grand lobby with a bar that also has a Incredible spiral staircase. The guests were Carson Kressley who was hilarios, Matt Friend, Leanne Morgan, Andra Day, DJ Cassidy and Wyclef Jean who turn this mother out. The the show was very nice and all of the show staff was nice and friendly. Paris Baguette was outside the theatre promoting the bakery by passing out their blue mugs, we didn't know that each mug had a gift card for $5.00 to spent at the bakery, overall the experience here at the Dolby Theatre good.

Sunday, 15th March 2026 Los Angeles, CA As host to the 98th Academy Awards ceremony, since it's premiere hosting in 2002, the historic iconic Dolby Theatre venue did not disappoint! I suppose this will resonate more with the fellas than others but have you ever been in a situation where a female, be it your niece, sister, mother, cousin or girlfriend, casual or otherwise put you in an undesirable situation using passive aggressive jiu jitsu, with a heavy dose of guilt? Maybe it's just me but this is how I find myself at the Dolby Theatre to watch the Nutcracker ballet. It only made me feel more like a child being forced to do something they did not want to do, when I realized that the Dolby Theatre was the once great Chinese Mann Theatre, where I watched many movies with my parents & brother as a child. To be honest, my expectations where negative but having never seen a ballet it was nice to indulge in something that was not in my usual menu of experiences. Although I probably would have enjoyed it more if I was allowed to bring my whiskey on the rocks inside rather than having to gulp it down in the lobby area like a maniac. In the end, the person who strong-held me into taking her was happy and sometimes in life, it's not always about you but what you can do to bring joy to someone else. To be fair, I did get mad at her while driving to and from the parking structure because it was maddening. But nobodies perfect and the traffic in the parking structure is unreasonably bad in my defense. Keep experiencing new things and thinking about someone else besides yourself my friends...

I was here for the Attack on Titan orchestra & live performance from Japan! Honestly if you missed this show, it was incredible. The orchestra, conductor, and vocalist had great pride and dedication for their works. The ambiance was gut wrenching & delightful in a stage theatre built for elite musicianship. Snacks were great I got a coffee and chocolates. Security and servers were there for the ultimate service.

Fun venue! It's where they do the Oscars! It's a nice sized theater for live performance right other heart of Hollywood. I saw the Jinkx and Dela Holiday show here. The staff was friendly and just sorts there. The guy at the main ticket booth seemed angry. They had your average snacks for purchase. The downsides are: Hollywood and Highland is a tourist trap. Watch out for touristy foods nearby. Also, they didn't validate so parking was like 25 bucks! Pro tip. Go to the coffee place in the H&H main quad and get a small coffee. They validate. Getting out of the parking lot after a big event can take a while. So be prepared. Pro tip 2: park one floor lower than where everyone parks. Usually tons of parking! Pro tip 3: walls to the lowest parking floor you can and use that ticket machine for your parking. There will be a lot shorter line! One last thing. For this show they placed seating in the orchestra section. The problem is the floor tilts slightly up so those seats are higher than the ones you are in if you are in the AA row. A rather large person sat in front of me and completely blocked my view. It's not his fault, they should arrange the seating better. Especially for those purchasing premium seats!

My recent visit to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood to see the Herb Alpert show was an absolute blast and a truly memorable experience. This venue is nothing short of amazing. The entire experience, from arrival to the final applause, was exceptionally smooth, largely thanks to the professional and welcoming staff who ensured a seamless and enjoyable evening. The acoustics are exceptional, delivering crystal-clear sound that perfectly enhanced the performance and artistry of Herb Alpert. It's the kind of sound quality that makes a world of difference for a live show. I had seats in Mezz 1 Right, Row F, and I can confidently say there wasn't a bad seat in the house. Our view was clear, with absolutely no obstructions. The sightlines are perfectly engineered, making it easy to relax and enjoy the performance without straining or dealing with a poor angle.

    Sadhguru. In awe. Gratitude.
    Joi R.

The opportunity to experience the energy of Sadhguru in person was one I refused to miss. There are many things going on in my life, so being in his presence what a profound moment allowing me to fully exhale. As for the Dolby, it's spacious and elegant in a grand Hollywood kind of way (of course). My seat in the 2nd Mezzanine-center-row A was the perfect distance with a clear view of the stage and away from the crowd. If you're looking for budget friendly tickets, I recommend this section. Just make sure you get the front row so you don't have any bobbing heads obstructing your view of the stage. Things to be mindful of entering the theater: no food or beverage, no large bags (including large purses), no safety "weapons" including pepper spray, and be prepared to go through a checkpoint. The staff is friendly so don't give them a hard time, just follow the rules. Before or after your show, take a stroll through the Hollywood Highland mall. Enjoy!

What a beautiful theater! We saw ANNIE here and it was fabulous. Parking was easy and reasonable. Just park in the Hollywood Highland parking structure. Entering was simple. Staff was friendly. Seats were comfortable and had decent legroom. The production was outstanding! What a great night

We had a five start experience based on good seats great acoustics and surround by people that did not need to stand to see the stage Dood inside seemed to be limited but your in Hollywood there are many local restaurants we did not explore due to heavy rain. You can enter in multiple floors limited number of elevators

We have been to the Dolby Theatre several times now and it really is great. It is located in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. in an open air mall and right next to the Chinese Theater. The walk of fame is right in the front and you can walk anywhere from there. The area has great places to eat and shop. The Dolby is up a flight of stairs but there is also an elevator. Most Tickets are from Ticketmaster, but The Pantages also has shows there and you go to their website to see what is at the Dolby. They have everything, from kids' shows to rock concerts and musicals. It is a wonderful place to see any show. The staff is great and will help you to your seats. It is a big place and the seats all the way in the back balcony are not good. The first 20 rows are the best. They also have good food and not just junk like you will find at other theaters. Parking is for a fee in the big lot for this mall. It is pricey. The place is just beautiful and kept very clean. You will love it.

Cast, producers, and writers for "The Handmaid's Tale".

There's something special about being able to sit in a seat where a celebrity sat just a few weeks ago for the Oscars. Meanwhile, the event you're currently at is to see and hear celebrities on stage for one of the biggest TV shows in U.S. history. I came here to see the cast of "The Handmaid's Tale" at PaleyFest LA and was excited to see 10 of the cast members along with a few of the producers and writers for the series finale. The interview was done by showing a few clips from the show first, then having the cast and crew answer questions about those clips. Towards the end, we got to see a sneak preview clip from the upcoming new season. It's all very well done and thought out, and it feels good to be surrounded by people who are as much into a show as you are. My only complaint is about the parking. I came solely for the event and they didn't validate unless you pay to be a Paley member, so I went to the machine and paid $16. The machine did a weird thing where it just spat out my ticket without confirming it was paid. So I got to the gate where there's another ticket machine and the gate wouldn't open. The employee at the gate said my card must have been declined the first time, so I put my card in again. This time I was charged $18. When I got home, my bank showed that I was charged twice. So now I have to go to the trouble of trying to get my money back. I knew there was something wrong when I saw one of the ticket machines covered up with a sign apologizing that it wasn't working. So overall, great experience with the event, horrible experience with parking.

Fantastic place to see anything and everything plus it's the Oscar's home. It's a place to check out if you can. Big, clean, glamorous and decor is just clean cut but classic. Simply fantasbulous.

What time do doors open for events if the ticket only says 7:30?

What's the best place to park for a show at the Dolby theater? Highland and Hollywood garage? Can I get validation at any store without purchases?

Highland is the most convenient. I do not think you can get validation without purchasing.

What is the handbag policy at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles?

I think it might depend on the show but I have always been able to bring any handbag and they do a security check in it so they will open each part of it.

Going to see Keane on March 10th and have tickets in the PIT BB, seats 29/30. Is this now the 3rd row? And how are the pit seats numbered? Where would 29/30 be located?

Hi Dana, Sorry for the delay in responding! Pit BB is the 3rd row. The numbers begin at 1 and BB goes up to 42.

Is sitting in the pit better than sitting in the orchestra section? Trying to see which seats are better to get

It depends on the show you're going to. The PIT seats are closest to the stage so if it's a concert you may have a better view of the artist. If it's an orchestral event or theatrical event, somewhere in the Orchestra will probably give you a better… Read more

At that point I dropped my subscription and I said that I would never attend any Bowl produced events again. Well, let me tell you this year they've blown my socks off with not only R&B artist, but also African-American classical artist. So I'm back on the season ticket holder list. Now I like all kinds of music. So I will be seeing jazz artist as well as The Beach Boys as well as a classical music night event. My taste is very eclectic. But when any business caves to what they consider DEI initiatives, they won't get my dollars. So I'm glad the Bowl has reversed their decision and are selecting Artist from all cultures to perform this year. I went to the opening of Juneteenth and it was an amazing multicultural experience. People of all ages and all backgrounds were there. What I also loved is that the food that you can order if you have a box seat has definitely improved. It looked delicious. But for those sitting in regular stadium seats, there are plenty of different food venues to choose from. I love the experience, I love the energy of the crowd, and I just loved how many people celebrate the unique gifts that black Americans bring to this country. It was delightful.

06.06 2026 Saturday…read more I have been here many times before. This place is a hit and miss. This day was definitely a miss this time around! Attended the Mariachi USA show. The show itself did not dissapoint. Fantastic show! Entertainment and firework show was spectacular!! I would come back again just to watch this show, scheduled in 2027 What was really dissapointing is the Venue and the staff members we encountered. Started off at the drop off. We were waiting for a shuttle since we were attending to somone in a wheelchair. Waited 20 mins to miss the first shuttle bus opportunity since it was packed. Waited another 20 mins for the 2nd Shuttle bus which we were the first 10 people in line to walk up to the shuttle. Pushed our wheelchair inside while everyone else was getting on the shuttle. The shuttle driver stated we cant have another wheelchair on board due to space limitations occupancy. I pleaded my case that we were the very first ones to come inside the shuttle. The unprofessional shuttle driver kicked us out since the bus filled up. I blame the coordinator for this. She is not directing traffic control to enter the shuttle. Handicap people should go in first not the other way around. She clearly is incompetent on her job to escort and assist people in wheelchairs. I told her she does not know what she is doing and allowing other people without disabilities to enter the shuttle first. "Fail on her part." She had the audacity to tell us .. dont worry, your going to get there regardless. I replied and stated, that is not the point. The point is you are allowing people to cut to enter the shuttle before you accommodate handicap people. I already wasted close to an hour waiting on the 3rd shuttle to arrive. She is held accountable and liable for the well beings including handicap people first. She just rolled her eyes and started arguing with me. I feel she is incompetent and whomever put her in this position to traffic the shuttle lines is incompetent as well. Process is a Fail! 2nd.. they confiscated all my aluminum sodas in the front checkin door. They clearly stated they dont allow aluminum cans inside but are selling aluminum beers inside. Does not make sense. The staff themselves are very pushy. Before and after the show. Aggressive crowd control, especially when you have someone in a wheel chair. They should not be yelling at you to exit the premises especially when the person in a wheelchair is using the restroom. This experience is just that. Nothing else. I will re rank my experience here in the future, hoping for a better experience from this venue. Hire more courteous and professional people. Incompetency and rudeness runs in some staff member that are running this venue.

It was all a foreign concept to me. Booking three or four or five acts in one night, charging you admission only once based on which act you came in for and most of the time if you came to the first you could stay through the 5th, or as most did, they came to see who they intended to see and maybe saw some of the act that was after and then went out to Hollywood to get some eats with their friends. Hotel Cafe is going away in 2026, but it is not gone, they will just be moving from their iconic Hollywood location, that small room that barely held 150, a small stage in the corner, a few low tables and a bar in the back to a new location in Los Angeles. It is the place where the singer-songwriter movement of the mid-2000s to the mid-2010s hard launched a revival. It's like what the Troubadour was to the Laurel Canyon singers in the 1970s. Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Greg Laswell, Priscilla Ahn, Meiko, Cary Brothers and many others. Adele even played here before her first album released in the US. I saw Sara Bareilles here once and she left everyone in tears after her song and bolted out the back door. I went to the front of the house and her family were blowing out the last of the signed copies her tour posters for only $10 since it was the last show of her tour. I bought a few. I have come here to see a friend like Big Phony sing, and then exit into the back room/lobby and see Hollywood stars entering to see their friend who would be singing next. It's that kind of local spot. The sound was always great and the drinks were well crafted and strong. I recently saw Priscilla Ahn sing here again and it brought back memories of the first time I saw her here, when she only had a 5 track EP CD. When she sang Dream again this year, it felt like everything had come full circle, since that first CD released 20 years ago. I cannot wait to see what the new building looks like, but a huge part of me, like for everyone else that has been here, will miss that little room in the back of the alley, where young dreamers became singers, where singers became stars.

The Ford is as fun as advertised, and I've already begun recommending it to my friends. This place has history, and you can feel it! Additionally, there isn't a bad seat in the house! We sat in Row P, and when I arrived, I took it all in. There's certainly a bit of magic here. The only negative is the parking. It's stacked parking, so you may end up waiting on other visitors to get to their cars before you can even think about moving. Otherwise, we already have plans to return to The Ford Theater!

It is a great intimate venue with lots of history and great sound. We parked about a half mile away and a public lot by the West Hollywood library, parking was only 12 bucks and it was a nice short walk to the venue and no traffic getting g out when we left the show. The event was sold out, and we got there right when doors opened. The line out front was not too long and security kept everybody moving really quick. Full bar and food inside. The main room is tiny, so anywhere you stand you will have a great view of the performers. I definitely plan to come back to see another show here, wish I had caught shows here in the past... Great venue.

Lights up. Queue…read moresound. Troubadour open those doors, the show is about to start now. From 1957 to 2025/present day this historic music venue theater has housed so many greats and legends in a magnitude of way. It's been featured in many films and shows and brought so much audiophile cheer. I haven't been to the Troubadour in over a decade, so in some way stopping in to see Young Gun Silver Fox (from the UK) with opening act Great Vacation (local Los Angeles) and a awesome DJ set in-between performances by Dustin De Leon was even more epic. I mean even thee Carole King (singer, songwriter, actress, grammy winner) was there rocking out in the audience a few feet away from my boyfriend, our friend Chase and I among a few other familiar locals I knew in the crowd. The design is very cool with a designated smoking area on the side walk away from their line where they will check you thoroughly from security to ticket scan to ID. I try to keep my pockets light for show days as most venues will. Safety first. They don't allow any outside food or drink, but the prices are more than reasonable inside. Once you make your way in the main bar is to the left of the entrance, with merch tables set up for acts of the night. in the corners. You can also find the first set of restrooms here. The service is stellar and the bartenders have a lot of personality and good energy. We had a few beers/craft brews and a ranch water hard seltzer throughout the night, but they have a full bar and solid selection of beverages on draft, limited tap, limited wine. You can hang in here for a bit, seating is limited around the bar, but mellow. Lots of history on the walls, signs and decor in here. Arriving early you can make your way up to the loft and enjoy the show from here as well. They have limited seating along the balcony, an additional bar upstairs. You can see so awesome views of the street life if in the main room. The Troubadour is on the very outskirts of West Hollywood with Beverly Hills literally starting write across the street #SoLA For the first hour we found ourselves at the back bar area inside the main showroom not to far from where you order food ( a good variety of options including vegetarian and vegan eats) We had a good view of the stage for Great Vacation even as the room filled closer to YGSF extended set. They definitely gave the people what they wanted. After nearly walking off stage at the end of an incredible set we chanted and got four more songs :D I still geek out on the movie Rocket Man filming here and recreating Elton John's 1970's performance in this very space. The sound, acoustics and production here is stellar. Iconic, rustic, unforgettable. Capacity for the Troubadour is around 500, with staff and performers just to give an idea of how little big this legendary space is. Additional Restrooms in the corner of the main room near a wide staircase heading to the balcony and loft areas. Parking in the area is garage recommended or metered minding restrictions which typically end by 8pm or on Sundays don't apply. Doors typically open by 7pm for most shows, but can vary slightly (though rarely). Music is a universal truth and at the Troubadour is always rings truth.

I was most recently here for a Steven Tyler event, and while it was decked out by another company for the event, simply walking around and looking at everything, you can see the attention to detail in every single thing. The bars are beautiful, and the view of the stage is great whether on the floor, the raised sides or upstairs. There is a new event space in the back, and I love it! It felt like a completely different place! Great bar and lots of tables to sit! I look forward to coming back!

So I finally saw the legend, Dave Chappelle…read more Before I speak about the infamous Hollywood Palladium, let me first give my reaction to the overall performance. Going to a Dave Chappelle stand-up was truly a spectacle worth seeing. I didn't even seem to care if this special topped any of his others; just being in the same room was something to behold. I've been waiting for over 20 years to see this show, and not because I couldn't afford it, because these tickets had only cost me around $500(Cheap), no, it was because I had other things in life to accomplish that were more important, so this had to be placed on the back burner. I almost couldn't see myself going to this event either, and that is only because I live way out in Temecula, CA. It had taken me over two hours to get here. And just two days prior, I also attended the Katt Williams special over at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA. So the venue had stated that the doors would be open at 6:00, and the show would start around 7:00. That was not the case. The doors actually opened at 8:00, and the show started at 9:00. I could only imagine if I pre-scheduled an Uber to pick me up according to those provided times, I would have been so pissed. Before entering the venue, it was stated that Dave Chappelle would not let anyone bring in any personal electronic devices without storing them first in one of those goofy-looking Yondr pouches. So we had decided to just tell security that we had to check our blood pressure every so many minutes(Cap), and they understood, and let us keep our phones out. But we were also warned not to take any photos or videos during the show, otherwise they would have to escort us out. The seats at this venue were almost equivalent to what I had felt just three days prior when I went to the Intuit Dome(Hard). Now, on the topic of seats. Why did the venue state that provided seats wouldn't be a thing for General Admission? It was stated that any General Admission ticket holders would be more on the lines of a first come first serve. But once having gotten through the security checkpoint, they for odd reasons, now provided us with physical seat tickets as shown in one of my images below(Liars). It's funny that I speak so harshly about the Palladium, because during Chappelle's set, even he acknowledged how this wasn't his favorite venue either. He had stated that there were two significant reasons why he had chosen to perform there that night, and one of them was that this was the last place he had seen Prince perform, and the other was for some personal anniversary of his. Other than those few things, he wouldn't have performed here(Yikes). And you don't have to believe me, because the special will come out on Netflix soon enough(Verbatim). So, who was in the building that night? Some may be wondering. Well, it was a weird line-up if I'm being honest. So for Dave's opening acts, first it was Donnell Rawlings, Trevor Noah(Super Strange), Black Star(Mos Def & Talib Kweli), Killer Mike(Rapper), and for his closing act, it was Lizzo(WTF) out of all people. You could tell early on that people were not feeling any of the musical acts, a bunch of mumbling over the loud beats. But once Dave had finished his set, and Lizzo was being announced, that's when everybody started to grab their personal belongings and head for the doors, while she was in the middle of playing her flute(Embarrassing).

Every seat is literally 15 feet from the stage. If you're going, you better love the band and their music, because you will be right in the middle of it. Third, yes you need to stand in line before going in - worth it if you love the band that's playing. Sr Conte and his boys knocked it out. There were several guest musicians, and - surprise, surprise! - Andy Garcia himself joining in; he and Sr Conte are pals. If you haven't heard this group play, you must! I have never been shot nor hardly ever told to leave. I have wandered into Courtyards, sacred sites in Old Jerusalem and all kinds of buildings that I'm not supposed to go into. Tonight I was invited to my old twin friends birthday party at the Lemon Grove at the Astor Hotel rooftop and I was a tad early. As I crossed the street there was a metal stanchion blocking most of the entrance to the Avalon Club with one door open. I wandered in and people were milling about setting up for an Emo night with the band called Waiting For April. I had seen this club change over the years but I had no idea it was still operating and it's a beauty with tremendous history and cavernous rooms with bars and side rooms. I wandered around and upstairs I found a merch table and a drum kit with guitars and some guys warming up. I started talking to them and it turns out that is the headlining band. We talked music and the struggles of a young band, I gave them some insight from my experience, they gave me their CD which is quite nice and I proceeded to check out the historic place. I wandered through every part of the club while the band was doing sound check including the Bardot room and unlike many clubs, you really feel the history here in the design and architecture of this historic venue. Here is the fascinating history: The Avalon Hollywood (also known simply as Avalon) at 1735 N. Vine Street in Hollywood, California, near the intersection of Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street (across from the Capitol Records Building) was built in the Spanish Baroque (Churrigueresque) style by architects Henry L. Gogerty and Carl Jules Weyl, with decoration by Steffan Horbaczek, it has operated continuously as a live performance space since opening--never as a movie theater. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985 as part of the Hollywood Boulevard Commercial and Entertainment Historic District. It started as the Hollywood Playhouse (1927-1930s). In 1942, the theater was purchased (reportedly for around $105,000) and renamed the El Capitan Theatre (distinct from the more famous one on Hollywood Boulevard). NBC acquired or leased the building in the early 1950s and converted it into a television studio. In 1963, ABC invested heavily (around $400,000) in renovations--including extending the stage, adding camera equipment, control booths, and other TV infrastructure--and briefly renamed it the Jerry Lewis Theatre for Jerry Lewis's short-lived (13-week) ABC variety series. From 1964-1970: it was The Hollywood Palace. From 1970s-1990s: The Palace Music Venue. ABC sold the theater in 1978 to businessman Dennis Lidtke, who restored it and reopened it in 1982 (or around 1987 per some accounts) as The Palace (sometimes called the Hollywood Palace). Seating was reconfigured for concerts (raked floor leveled, bands on stage), and it became a music club and event space. It hosted rock concerts, HBO specials (e.g., Sheena Easton, Bruce Willis), the Ramones' final show (1996), the American Music Awards, and film appearances. It operated as a live music venue through the 1980s and 1990s. 2002-Present: Avalon Hollywood Nightclub with a major renovation that transformed it into a modern nightclub, concert hall, and event space with standing-room/dance floor capacity (around 1,250-1,500), state-of-the-art sound, lighting, and visuals. It emphasizes electronic dance music (EDM), DJ sets, and live performances, with upstairs space later becoming Bardot, an intimate lounge/restaurant/club opened around 2008. Notable modern acts have included Tiësto, Sasha, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Skrillex, Swedish House Mafia, Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren, Kaskade, and many others in the EDM scene. It has also hosted award shows, benefits, screenings, political fundraisers, and private events. In recent years (2024-2025), Insomniac Events (founded by Pasquale Rotella) partnered with and then acquired the joint marking the first ownership change in about 50 years and ensuring its continued role in dance music culture. The Avalon has adapted remarkably over nearly a century--from legitimate theater and WPA productions to burlesque, TV studio, variety show epicenter, rock club, and EDM nightclub--while retaining its core as a live entertainment landmark in the heart of Hollywood. Its architecture and location have contributed to its enduring appeal. I definitely will return.
