The staff welcomed us with smiles and were so helpful, we decided to wait till after dinner to go back and so glad we did. Finished dinner and went back in, tried some samples and landed on cappuccino (literal heaven) and the snickerlicious flavor which was absolutely phenomenal. Highly recommend stopping in and giving this place a try. My son is allergic to eggs and he was able to enjoy the gelato with us when we brought it back to the hotel. We stopped into Dolce Mare last night after dinner, and it is such a cute little spot! There's a little bit of something here for everyone. There are gift options, boxed/bagged chocolates and candies, lots of little collectibles, and a ton of fun things for kiddos. In the back are homemade gelatos that are every bit delicious as they are beautiful. On the right are chocolates and other treats. The young lady behind the gelato counter was really sweet and let my son have the full test and pick your favorite experience! No surprise, he picked the birthday cake flavor topped with lots of sprinkles. I think my husband got a chocolate flavor of some sort. Both loved their gelatos. I picked out some chocolate for myself - dark chocolate coconut cluster (classic), milk chocolate cappuccino (yum!), and a dark chocolate tiramisu. I didn't quite taste the tiramisu, however, could tell it was very high-quality chocolate and enjoyed it nonetheless. Love this gelato spot!! They have a big flavor selection including some classics (like pistachio & hazelnut) & other more inventive ones (like salted caramel). The sizes are pretty large, but they have a "mini" kids size (that you can order as an adult!) that was the perfect size for me, and you can still order two flavors in that small size. Decided to have some ice cream for dessert after dinner. I had the coffee gelato. Husband had the cookies and creme. Mine was awesome. The coffee gelato wasn't on display but when I asked about it, our server went in the back to look if they had some back there and found some for me. Yum. I had the mini size which was perfect for me. It even came with a decorative (yet tasty) wafer. So good I also bought some individually sold sea salt caramels. Too much to eat tonight so have to let you know how those tasted another time. I like the area outside this place. Fountains, benches. Lots of people watching. After a disappointing dinner nearby, I was still hungry and craving something sweet. They had some gorgeous cake slices in the display upfront. I'd admired their coconut cake and even their carrot cake. But alas, they didn't actually have the cakes they'd displayed. Not fair teasing us! So I settled for a very rich mini cup of extra dark chocolate gelato. It was a lot of product packed in that little cup. And very good. This is a great shop that offers several gelato options, local truffles, Carmel applesauce to order and many other great treats. The family stopped here for desert and we all had gelato. I had the stracciatella gelato, the kids had dark chocolate, strawberry, and stracciatella. They make it all in house and it was excellent gelato. I'll be back again this week.....maybe next time I won't eat it so quickly and can remember a photo. If given a choice I will usually take ice cream over gelato, but this afternoon it was Wifey's choice, not mine. We were over in the shopping plaza we strolled over to Dolce Mara for a little treat. We got a friendly greeting when we walked in and the place smelled great. Lots of great treats here (chocolate covered items looked fabulous), but we were here for the gelato. Before I even looked, I got the "you're getting a small" from Wifey, but that was fine-they allow two flavors in a small and I just wanted a taste anyway. Wifey got a small with Dark chocolate and Peanut Butter and I ordered Bourbon and Salted Caramel. They serve your gelato with a piece of waffle cone, which is a nice twist. We both really liked our choices. I thought the dark chocolate was a little too strong, but I didn't order it so who cares what I think . I also thought my salted caramel tasted a bit like butterscotch, but I love butterscotch so I was fine. Friendly staff and tasty treats...though a bit pricey at $4.99+tax for a small. DRINKS: Coffee, Espresso, etc. THE BAD --------- TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE--the owner spilled my coffee while taking a phone call and never said or did a thing. Would it have killed her to clean up the mess in my saucer? POOR STAFF--the young woman that was serving us, and trying to be helpful, was obviously not trained properly. The owner didn't seem to care that we were standing at the register for 10 minutes while the new-hire tried to figure out how to make an espresso. On top of it, the new-hire tried to over charge us for the espresso, thankfully we caught the error in time by questioning the total. OVERPRICED--everything here is high in cost, especially for the small portion you receive. We went there minutes before closing time hoping to get some chocolate covered strawberries and a milkshake, and they only had 1 strawberry left in the case. Instead of turning us away the gentleman there picked 6 of the biggest strawberries they had and hand dipped them specially for us while we waited. They were DELICIOUS. This is the second night in a row that we have stopped in and both times have been fantastic! So upset we didn't find out about this place sooner as we leave in a couple days but we will be sure to stop in on our way out. The service was absolutely amazing, and the treats were great! We ordered a milk/white chocolate one and the sales person reached in the case with her bare hand. She got the wrong one so I asked if she could put a glove on. Review for gelato only: One star because I cannot give less. Visited here for some gelato after hearing about the place from locals. Got the mint chocolate chip and it was so soft that it started melting when I walked out. I asked for a waffle cone and although they had more than an hour for closing, she said she would have to ask if they can make one! Paid $5 to throw it out in the trash right outside the restaurant!! So disappointing and I didn't even get my dessert fix. On the other hand, there were nice chocolates and other packaged products for purchase. Try those maybe. read more

This little spot is so beautiful! We had been trying to go our whole visit to Marco Island but work dinners ran us past closing time. I went up to the window minutes after they had closed our last night and the lady let us in, she was so lovely. We quickly ordered a bunch of goodies. They're shop is beautiful with so much of a variety to choose from. They have baked goods, chocolates, candies, gelato, popcorn, wine, etc. A lot of their products are made in house.
