Absolutely horrible experience. We drove 45 minutes to get here on a Friday, making sure to arrive well before their posted 7:00 PM closing time. We walked up to the door at 6:10 PM only to find a sign saying new hours they closed early--even though a staff member was clearly visible inside. I really enjoy this place. Their baked goods are amazing. Very fresh, and very tasty. I always have one of their scones... my favorite in Naples. Of course this store is known for their chocolates! They are fantastic in my opinion. The centers are so so tasty! Try any of the caramel centers that are smooth and runny. The only reasons I don't give 5 stars is because I feel the coffee at Norman Love is really bad...like "don't drink it bad"! It's over roasted and over extracted. The other issue I have is I don't like it when I'm standing at the register to place my order and one employee is talking to another about their personal issues. We had just finished dinner at USS Nemo next door and decided to stop in to this shop to get a dessert to take home. They have so many delicious looking things, including cookies, pastries, bon bons, macarons, gelato, and amazing desserts. We got two of the Key lime pie desserts and a box of chocolate sea shells. This would be a great place to get a gift for someone with a sweet tooth. I loved how they packaged the dessert - they taped the little trays onto the bottom of the box so they wouldn't slide around - so smart! The Key lime pie dessert was delicious. It was pretty sweet, but I really enjoyed sharing it with Nate. It was wrapped in white chocolate and had some chocolate decorations on top. They do have some seating inside if you want to enjoy your treats there. I'd come back for more sweet treats! read more

Visited Naples for a quick weekend getaway and this place was recommended by a relative. The store had a wide assortment of artisan chocolates and cakes. I initially wanted to try their gelato but I got distracted by their beautifully crafted cakes. I ended up getting the Chocolate Bombe and I loved it. Very rich and chocolatey without feeling to overpowering. The base crust is a little too hard for my liking though. My husband tried a piece of their sea salt caramel chocolate truffles. He loved it. We also purchased a gift box to take home for my mother. You could either get their boxes that already come with preselected chocolate pieces, or customize your own. I picked my own chocolates since I know what my mother's preferences are with chocolates. We were also warned that we might risk the chocolate truffles getting melted if we don't refrigerate them in 30 minutes. We picked up the gift box around 1 pm, and did not come home until around 8 pm, and they ended up being perfectly fine. We just made sure not to leave it in the car when we are out and about and brought the box with us everywhere we go-- at the shopping center, in the restaurants, etc. Great gift idea or just a treat for yourself. Price is on the higher side but if you don't mind paying premium for carefully made chocolates, I recommend Norman Love. read more

Love their chocolate but recently had a very unpleasant experience that left me disappointed and I hope this will allow management to provide more training to its staff. Called on a Friday asking about the cakes which I was planning to order for Monday for my husband's birthday. The site does not showcase the cakes you can order so I called and asked about the flavors and designs available but the manager told me to look on the site. I hung up confused because I couldn't find it when I first looked so searched for it again. Called the store back asking if I could be walked through the site in finding the cake menu and told the manager I could not locate it, the same manager who told me to look on the site then said " Sorry, I'm not familiar with the site so I don't know what it has or doesn't". Since his guidance could get me nowhere and the site also didn't have anything, I hung up and went to the store on Saturday at 3:40PM(Store was not going to close until 8pm that Saturday) to see the cakes for myself. I ordered a couple of chocolates and as I placed the order, the store manager called the pastry kitchen and to my surprise, they were closed at 4pm and therefore he could not place my order. He in no instance offered a solution or was apologetic enough, all he said was sorry the pastry kitchen is closed so we can't order it for Monday. I left extremely disappointed with the lack of information he gave me, the experience I had, and ordered a cake from a gelato shop which they decorated on the same day for me. Please train your manager to be more resolution driven, learn the site, and anticipate your customer's needs. Should he have said, "please know our pastry kitchen closes at 4PM on Saturday, so we will need to enter the order before then, if you expect to have it on Monday" I would've prepared myself accordingly but there was no information given and I left without a cake but a sour taste in my mouth. Here is the amazing Gelato cake I ordered on the same day which turned out to be delicious from Gelato & Co Naples. Much to my dismay, I was treated like a second class citizen. I was ignored by staff! As I am ready to order no one bothers to acknowledge me as a customer. Orders were taken from people who walked in after me! It was only when others were taken care of, when finally (BEC THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE TO ASSIST) I was asked if I needed assistance. Hmph! We had a good taste of the complimentary French vanilla chocolates. They were addicting, but what really got us addicted was the Passion Panna Cotta! That little piece of heaven has the zing and pop and can make anyone happy! Make sure to pick that one up. The staff was so friendly and explained the desserts to us - get ready, there are a lot! The chocolates are to die for and they had some out to sample - cookies and cream was my favorite. We also tried the coconut and chocolate macaroons which I LOVED. If you like coconut - it is a must. Their cookies are HUGE and soft/chewy - try to chocolate chip! Blah blah the chocolates are beautiful and delicious. More importantly it must be mentioned how good the service is. My partner (who has food allergies) and I were debating chocolate choices and Meli was very patient and helpful, informing us of ingredients. She even arranged the chocolates on the selection plate she had so we could be able to tell who had chosen which chocolate. After that we were debating macarons and beverages and Christine (sp) was also patient and kind. They helped us sort out a coupon and made sure we got entered the rewards program and even laughed at our terrible jokes. We then called the store later and whoever answer the phone (can't remember their name but they definitely told us) was great too. These are great chocolates. I am now afflicted with an addiction to Norman Love. It all started with a night I was waiting for my table at USS Nemo. I was drawn in by the offering of a sample of the peanut butter & jelly chocolate. And, in one sultry bite...I was completely hooked. My brother and I went to our dinner and then we couldn't wait to finish the meal so we could return to start selecting our very first box. I am now insistent on choosing a Normal Love chocolate out of my refrigerator first thing in the morning and another at night. I can no longer go a day without it. Every single chocolate is a work of art. Each one handcrafted. I have tried most flavors at this point. My favorites include the PB&J (of course), tiramisu, peanut butter banana, 91% nocturne, bananas foster, carrot cake. There are several from the holiday 2015 collection that I wish would stick around...I may have to go stock up today before they are gone forever--pumpkin pie, snowflake, white christmas. First words out of my brothers mouth when his plane landed the other day...do you have anymore Norman Loves? I love me some Norman Love! I was recently in Naples visiting friends and was craving ice cream. They suggested Norman Love and I couldn't contain my excitement. We stopped by mid-afternoon and it was busy. I was bummed that they had sold through a few flavors of their macarons. Jennifer assisted me as I bombarded her with my order of chocolates, macarons, and gelato. She was very friendly even though it was not the speediest of processes. I had the chocolate gelato and it was delicious! My friends enjoyed their Mint Chocolate Chip and Hazelnut Gelato, as well. The chocolates were all very good. The macarons were ok and probably my least favorite. I definitely would return the next time I am in Naples. Norman Love and several of his chocolatier's have won several well-deserved titles and awards. They have a very wide selection of pastries and desserts to please dessert lovers of all ages.
