I found this place on Yelp while looking for couple's massages. Appointment scheduling: I first called the salon and phone kept ringing. As a result I submitted an email inquiring about availability. I received a phone call within 10 minutes of writing the email. I explained what I was looking for and they said they would have to call me back. To me that alone was a little disorganized. Arrival: We arrived 15 min early for our scheduled appointment time. We were greeted at the door and told to fill out new guest paperwork. Then another person took us to our room. This person was not one of our massage therapists. We were probably in the room for 10 minutes when the first receptionist said our massage people would be with us shortly. It was another 5 minutes at least until they arrived. Massage session: This was my boyfriend's first massage so he didn't know what to expect. When scheduling I had requested deep tissue for the both of us. I'm used to massage therapists asking ahead of disrobing or at least right away what areas to focus on, etc and they really didn't do that. My massage therapist asked how her pressure was and I told her to go harder. Honestly I felt like a lot of my massage was her just rubbing products onto me. At several points she used a heated lotion that was strange. Also I felt that the massage therapists kept talking and whispering to each other instead of focusing on the massage. Dolce Vita recently moved from downtown LaGrange to downtown Westmont. The new location is much larger and has more amenities, which I have included in my photos. Also, it has a parking lot next to the building. I have had many massages with Justyna and she always delivers greatness. This past week, I went for the super relaxation package, which included the vichy shower, steam tent, and hot stone massage. I worked with Liama for the first time and she was great and so kind. She has experience with physical therapy and part of her massage is stretching your body, which feels so great. The vichy shower is very relaxing and cleansing, the stem tent feels like all the impurities are leaving your body and the hot stone massage is always the best. The 90 minutes went by so fast I was enjoying myself so much, I never wanted it to end! My mom and I then enjoyed the spa area, which includes a shower/locker room, hot tub, sauna, and lounge chairs. We loved sitting in the sauna and the hot tub was clean and relaxing. We then laid out in our cozy robes and enjoyed some wine and macaroons, c/o Justyna. Your able to bring in your own food and drink and you have access to a private room with a jacuzzi and sauna. Very disappointing birthday service!! I booked the birthday spa package which was supposed to include a private room decorated, with appetizers, healthy drinks and desserts. The services included were a 60 minute massage, a facial (I substituted the facial for the vichy shower) and private use of a sauna and jacuzzi. When I booked, I expressly asked that the massage be the last service. I did not want to get in the sauna/jacuzzi after the massage and strip off all the essential oils from the massage. When I got there, I thought the spa was nice. I went into a large spa party room, where there was a TV tray table set up with a poor display of desserts and a glass of champagne. I was very disappointed. No decorations, no appetizers. I was then told to change and immediately went to the vichy shower. The food set there in a huge open space with people coming and going, so not sanitary at all! I have had the vichy shower at other spas before and it is my favorite service. Not today! She turned it on, it stayed on one place of my body, while she used a "hose" of some sort to rinse the scrub off of me. I asked her about it and she said she has to move it manually, and swished it a couple of times. I then went in for the steam tent, which was okay. She began my massage and I reiterated that I wanted to do the sauna and jacuzzi first. She told me I could put on lotion after that. I was so dissapointed, I left without doing the sauna or the jacuzzi. This was probably one of the worst spa experiences I have had. I expressed my great disappointment to everyone to no avail, but a weak apology. So... I spent $250 for a 30 minute scrub and a massage. My massage was a 90 minute one and Idena used stones and essential oils to help me get the greatest relaxing experience. I've been to spas all over the US and abroad and I can say that my experience here was just as good, and even better, than other spas I've been been to. The spa is clean, has a hot tub and sauna that you can use with some of their packages. The private rooms are a good size, they provide a locker in the room for your clothes, etc and the tables do have heating, so those are nice and ready to get your muscles warmed up. Her background in physical therapy comes through in her massage; besides the typical massage, there is a fair amount of stretching and manipulation, felt more like a medical or chiropractic massage than a standard one, which was awesome. I always feel very comfortable (and safe-COVID protocol and safety measures in place, very clean), and I love supporting this small business. They are helpful, thoughtful, and really believe in the quality of services they are providing and how they can make for an excellent experience for their customers. The spa itself is decorated very nicely, and the rooms are set up with lockers for your personal items, warm robes, disposable undergarments, and shower caps. It being our 1st time we were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. Julie was really attentive and took her time. My boyfriend got me the Groupon package for the 60-minute Swedish massage, steam tent, hot stones, and facial for my birthday! I was so excited to go as this was my first ever massage. Scheduling the appointment was easy and the lady on the phone was extremely nice. I got two text reminders of the appointment which was nice as well. The day of, they called a few hours before my appointment and told me that someone had cancelled, so if I could come in 2 hours earlier, that would be great. That actually worked better for my schedule anyway so I was happy that it worked out! There is free parking in the back of the spa, so I took advantage of that. Try not to pay for parking if you can find free 3 hour parking! Basically how it works for those who have never had a massage before (I sure could have used a review like this), is that they take you into the room and they leave, and you undress completely like you're at the doctor. There's a towel to wrap around yourself and then the masseuse comes back in. Once you're under the steam tent, you remove the towel, but they can't see your body except your head sticking out! I got a nice relaxing facial while the steam tent starting working. It was very warm and calming and relaxing. My masseuse was pretty talkative in the beginning which I did not mind at all, as I'm talkative too and was a little nervous! Once the massage itself really began, she would check in with me every once in a while to make sure I was enjoying myself and that I was doing okay, but I was able to just lay in silence which was nice. You are covered in really nice soft heavy towels/blanket before they remove the steam tent, so again your naked body is not completely on display. From there, she just folded the blanket over each section of my body to work on arms/shoulder, legs, etc. It was so relaxing and I felt like a new person when it was over! It was a full 60 minutes and it flew by. I didn't want to leave! Make sure to tip your masseuse when you leave. Again, as this was my first time, I didn't know you had to tip, but the Groupon mentioned that you should and then I felt bad for not thinking of that! They accept cash tips but I was able to pay the tip with the credit card because I didn't have exact cash, which was nice. Overall, I would recommend this place for your massage needs!
