Water Amenities are nice but it's crowded, not tranquil. The relaxing room was also crowded, brightly lit and not tranquil.

First, this was quite literally one of the best deep tissue massages I've ever had. Incredibly helpful for the ongoing neck and back issues I've been having. The professional and responsive therapist was the highlight of my day! Overall the spa is incredibly nice and well attended to by their hard working staff. A few issues that weren't ideal compared to other spas I've visited. Not nearly enough space in locker room. Packed with people changing, showering, blow drying hair, etc. The entry way/reception desk and gift shop is steps from the relaxation room. A door between the two would be incredibly helpful in keeping it more peaceful. The other relaxation room backs up against the spa cafe. It too was a bit loud. All in all 8/10 experience! read more

Came here for the first time on a Wednesday. There is ample parking in the parking garage, which also happens to be free. If you come here on Wednesdays, there's also 20% off of any service and all services that you choose. Keep in mind that your bill will also automatically add in 20% gratuity I've never been to the original in Wisconsin, and this was my very first trip ever. I will say it did not start smoothly because although they were five people at the front desk, nobody was helping us or acknowledging us and then finally a lady spoke to us and said she could not help us check out. However, we were not there to check out. We were there to check in so when she realized it immediately started helping us. All the people you are very nice speak very calmly and after you check in they give you a welcome drink of water and there's a flavor of the day as well as a nice moist towel. Then someone walks you around and gives you a very quick tour. Then that same person takes you to the locker room or another person meet and greet to you and directs you to your assigned locker. There are problems in the women's locker room. It is too small for the amount of women and appointments at their booking simultaneously. All the lockers are half lockers that are two layers in the locker room. For someone short like me I cannot even reach the hanger on the locker. I was assigned on the second level or on top of another locker. Further as soon as you walk in, there are only two stalls for toilets and then another two or three stalls for showers. The attendance keep the place really clean and dry, which is very nice. After you get changed, you're also told before your appointment that you can use any of the amenities all day for free before and after your appointment, which is great So we got there one hour early and got to use the hot tubs. The sauna the steam room I didn't dare use the cold plunge and then you get to use their lounging rooms which also have some small granola snacks, hot water, cold, flavored water as well and really comfortable chairs that you can sit upright or literally lay in lounging. I did the lavender Rain Vichy shower service and this is absolutely incredible. I think my spa aesthetician was named Danielle and she was fantastic also This place has a strict no technology no cell phones policy. So I have no pictures whatsoever. After the service they take you to one of the relaxing rooms, which was fantastic and you can stay there as long as you like I would definitely come back here again and highly recommend people to come here, especially on a Wednesday read more

They charge for a luxurious spa experience but it felt more like a day at Disney. Visited the week before spring break. I booked 2 services online, massage and facial. Apparently they were charging premium prices this week so it was even more expensive than normal. I started with a massage. My massage therapist applied WAY too much pressure. I don't regularly get massages so didn't ask for them to stop as I thought maybe it was what my muscles needed, but I was wrong. For days my neck and upper back was in pain to the touch like I was bruised. I should have asked her to lay off the elbows. Also, she was sniffling through the massage which I couldn't tell if she was sick or that's how she breathes. I couldn't wait for it to end. Next to the relaxation area. Went to the hot tub. Totally packed, not a single chair. Ok, I'll try the sauna, totally packed couldn't get a seat. So got in the hot tub. Despite it being fully packed wall to wall, the front desk came and told the 4 friend groups they weren't allowed to talk to each other to maintain the relaxed environment.... Kind of hard when you are on top of each other. Finally made it into the sauna. Sitting elbow to elbow and there is a clump of hair on the floor. We were grossed out and left. Went to the other quiet relaxation area to read and again, full. How am I supposed to relax when I can't even find a chair??? Next up, my facial. She was great and totally loved it!!!! I especially like facials here with the nice bed to lay on, very comfortable. Back to the locker room, bathrooms full, showers full, no glasses at the water station. I spent $700 to be herded like cattle. Kohler should not charge premium prices when overbooking the spa. I highly encourage you to go elsewhere. read more

Sorry to say that this is not a 5 star review. Previous days at the Kohler Spa in Burr Ridge were great. This past month was an experience that I would not recommend anyone pay for or spend time getting services here for free. Too crowded for the size of the place. Every room including the pool had too many people. I did both a mani and pedi with Anna. Perhaps she could be provided a refresher on how to clean cuticles and shape nails, her work was very careless sorry to say. She did get excited when I upgraded my manicure explaining that the charge did not include the tip. I decided to do this negative review so that maybe someone else won't waste their time and money here. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend Kohler spa in Burr Ridge and this used to be one of my favorite spas. The spa itself was very overcrowded, loud, and dirty with towels and cups littered everywhere. There were so many people there and sadly very few were following the quiet rules. At one point there was a group talking very loudly and then started yelling in the pool area. There were also people talking very loudly in the deep relaxation area. Sadly, no one from the staff asked anyone to quiet down and left it to the other patrons which caused several disagreements. They did demand that I stop reading my Kindle due to their new no technology rule. I understand no phones, but not being able to read a book while relaxing makes absolutely no sense. They tried telling me it was illegal because of cameras but Kindles do not have cameras and no other pool I've ever been to have banned phones or Kindles. The massage itself was just okay. My therapist was very rushed, got me a few minutes late and ended services a few minutes early because it was so crowded. I also asked her to increase the pressure several times but she was unable to (probably from exhaustion being booked back to back all day). I brought my concerns to the manager who told me she doesn't make the rules. She said the rules are made in Wisconsin and offered me no other solutions. Overall, for the price, you can get a much better spa experience and massage at any number of places in the Chicago area. Sadly, I will not be returning until management has changed. read more

It's a must. Just go if you're going to be anywhere within 2 hrs. I promise you won't worry about the price tags after you experience all the amenities that are rolled in. From the water spa to the sauna to the cold plunge to the upper deck hot tub. There's just so much to do. I never budget enough time. Give yourself at least an extra 2 hrs outside of your treatments to enjoy the amenities and "get ready" in the locker room because it's so cozy. It's better than the double price tag at Waldorf Astoria and feels more elite than most spas I've ever visited. I can't speak to the satellite spas, but the OG lives up to the hype. Try to go during the week days, because my only criticism is it can get annoyingly crowded. Which is understandable when people don't want to leave, and there's no mandatory check out procedure. After a stressful couple of days, I needed some spa love so being 15 minutes away from this location was key. Being here for the 1st time, I had a 3:30p appointment for a 50 minute massage. I was escorted to the men's locker room which was clean and nice. It wasn't super big but sufficient. Before I left I did take a shower here and it was nice as there were 3 different shower heads to take a shower so that was nice. I'm sorry I don't remember the masseuse's name but it was a very relaxing massage. She did ask what areas did she want to focus on and I mentioned my calves were sore. She did focus on it so that was nice. I felt relaxed as she did a great job. Afterward I went to the relaxation area to have some tea and chill. There were a group of two ladies talking a little loudly which stunk. Kohler makes you sign a paper to maintain a quiet demeanor while there. Then about 10 minutes later, some women to the right of me were chatting it up as well. I was a little annoyed so I went to put on my swim trunks and check out the amenities of the steam room and pool. First the steam room was nice but I did not smell and eucalyptus as advertised. Maybe it was a faint scent but usually I have a good sniffer for that. Afterwards, I hit the plunge pool which was nice at 8 feet. Then onto the pool with it's waterfall and jets. That was nice but what wasn't nice was as I was sitting in the pool for 30 minutes, towels were draped/laid on about 8 chairs. Going to the American Club location, that would never fly. Also there was a woman to emptied out the bin of towels but left the ones on the chairs. It looked messy. Finally I went back for more tea in the relaxation room and fast forward 10 minutes and there were about 3 women in the pool area chatting it up. It was annoying. I just wish this location was more diligent and ask the guests to shhhhh. That shouldn't fall on the patrons to do that. I tried it and i'm good not going to this location moving forward. read more

I recently visited Kohler Spa in Burr Ridge as a birthday surprise for my wife. Overall, it was a safe and super friendly environment, but the experience itself left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. First Impressions The amenities are impressive, and the staff is very welcoming. From the moment we walked in, the guest service team was friendly and helpful. We were given a quick tour of the facilities, which include a plunge pool, steam room, and sauna--each clean and well-maintained. The main lounge was a bit louder than expected, though. It's meant to be a tranquil space, but the noise level detracted from that. Men's Locker Room The men's locker room is nice and has everything you could need, but it feels catered to a specific demographic (let's just say, a very traditional "white male" vibe). It's not necessarily a negative, but the lack of diversity is noticeable. Treatments Here's what I booked: Hydro Wet Treatment (50 mins): This was disappointing. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it--it's just not worth the time or money. Men, go for a massage instead. Facial: My first time getting one, and I was pleasantly surprised. It was relaxing, and I even fell asleep a few times. Definitely a calming experience, so if you've never had a facial, it's worth trying. (Pause) Pedicure: Meh. It was nice to have my feet rubbed, but it didn't feel special enough to justify the cost. Quiet Lounge The best part of the experience was the quiet lounge. Kohler Water Spa is my go to spa - I make sure to block off my whole day to take advantage of the calming, beautiful, healing amenities outside of my service. For massages, Brian is my absolute favorite. He's also the masseuse trainer. If you want information about your body (what this knot means or why your arm can't reach all the way back), he'll tell you. His massages are beyond relaxing and healing. I cannot recommend the hydrotherapy services enough to people! It's Kohler- the OG of showers! Think of a room, all beautifully tiled (almost Dexter-like): you will be lying on a massage table while water showers over you and a masseuse is applying different temperatures of rocks to your body. It's almost like being in a hot tub but lying down. Your face is free from the water - your person will gently cover your eyes or wrap a towel around your face leaving your nose open. It was an incredible experience to let go of what's happening in your head and really lean into what's happening in your body. Thank you to Paige who was wonderful with my 1st hydrotherapy session! The deep relaxation room is where I spend most of my time. There's a fireplace, salt wall, and lounge chairs with heat as well as vibrations. This is all controlled by a remote so feel free to turn it up or turn it off. I took a 2 hour nap in those lounge chairs next to the fire. Absolute ZEN! The pool area is lovely as well. With the waterfall, it's a big louder overall so people feel like THEY also have to be louder. It's not as calm and tranquil as the other parts of the spa. Be sure to try their recommendation of the body temp circuit: sauna, cold plunge, hot tub, cold plunge, steam room. I can't NOT talk about the locker rooms. When it's a busy day (weekends or Wednesdays), it's the tiniest locker room. 2 stalls for bathrooms, people waiting to get to their locker because there's so many people at their lockers in the same space... it's ridiculous honestly. There's just not enough space or facilities. You can tell when they're busy because all the people usually hang out in the relaxation lounge right outside the pool area. Once alllllll those people get swooped away for their services, THAT'S when the coast is clear. When it's busy (and you allow yourself time), that's when I head elsewhere. Let all those people dissipate. Then I'll get in my locker to grab my snack or a book or get out of my wet suit. But know that if you're in a hurry and it's busy, trust me you'll be frustrated...And who wants to be frustrated at the spa? Stay in that relaxed, zen-like place. YOU DESERVE IT! read more

Its our girls day out and of course we decided to pamper ourselves and the lucky choice was this establishment. The place looks fancy and clean. The service was great. The Massage was super relaxing and super nice. It felt so good. We also like tbe thermal suite which is their pool area. They have a dipping pool with cold water. Mosty used after the steam room and sauna. The only thing that i didnt like abt this place is the locker and bathroom. For the number of clients thats there. There are 3 toilet stalls and 2 shower stalls. The locker is a bit cramped. Other than that. I can see myself coming back. I didnt take pictures coz of privacy reasons. read more

I loved Kohler Waters Spa. The location is beautiful with easy parking. Nestled off the street is perfect for a spa. Inside is gorgeous. Soft colors and lighting create a very spa like atmosphere. Everything is super clean which is expected from a spa. My friend and I had appointments for a mani/pedi and massage. My nail services were ok but nothing very memorable. My massage with Brian was incredible. He knows what he is doing and his skill level and customer care is exceptional. I highly recommend him as your therapist. We called to make another massage appointments for an upcoming Saturday. Although the staff is always very nice and professional, I learned that they require each customer to book TWO services. So we would have had to book FOUR services. We noticed the prices are now a bit higher than our last appointments a couple of months ago. The nice girl on the phone explained they do this in fall and winter and then take it away the other months. Although I love everything else about Kohler Water Spa, I don't love this. We have been here 3 times and will not return. The last time we visited on 12/4 was the worst spa visit of my life. My masseuse jammed her elbows into my lower back and I have been in severe pain since. I requested a soft to medium Swedish massage and she was anything but. I told her to stop multiple times. I'm still in pain and I'll have to get a MRI this week to figure out what damage she did. The showers were also disgusting at the end of the day. Every single available shower had thick black hair clogging the drains. I couldn't find an employee so I cleaned one myself and complained to the front desk later. Most showers at the end of day were also out of shower gel. I used to love this place but unfortunately the new "no technology rule" has to be the worst decision that was ever made. I understand no talking on the phone, you want to remain a quiet & relax environment but no phones at all to even send an email? That's outrageous! Especially if you are there for more than 2 hours. The average person have kids, work, an empire to run & to simply shoot out a text or emails you have kohler workers literally stalking you asking you to "put your phone away." What about people who want to listen to music with headphones or read their kindles??? I find it strange that staffing are coming up to customers & demanding them on how we should relax when we are a complete adults that are paying for services that are not cheap. It's so sad to watch and observe people sneak to use their phones & hide behind magazines as if we are all in elementary school. How is that helping anyone relax? That just gives people more anxiety & makes them feel uneasy. I totally understand no phones in the water spa area because of privacy and people swim wear. But sitting in the waiting area, which is a quiet area where you are not actually talking on the phone; just simply reading or texting or doing whatever makes you relax on your technology is sufficient enough. Sorry to say but this was a very dumb rule to put in place & to have staff members walking around in a quiet area talking so damn loud asking people to put their phones away as if they are bothering anyone else doesn't really make that area an "quiet area" nor an "relaxed area" as well. read more

Not a fan at all of the "no technology" policy. Sadly, it's almost impossible to relax here as the deep relaxation room was filled to the gills and when I did score a chair, I couldn't read my book due to insufficient lighting. Waiting room is absolutely anything but quiet and the whirlpool area was no better. Many loud voices, such much so that I could hear full conversations from inside the sauna. They need to strongly enforce the quiet policy and chill on the no technology policy. Looking at your phone quietly or listening to music with AirPods doesn't disturb anyone. Priorities here are out of order. Massage was good but not worthwhile at this price point when the rest of the experience was so frustrating. Locker rooms are way too cramped, bright and loud as well. I'll pass. read more

Enjoyed my hydrotherapy treatment. They are so efficient and I was never exposed or cold. The pool is not a hot tub which I was a little disappointed in-it's warm but not hot. I went on Wednesday evening and it wasn't crowded. Snacks are in little plastic boxes which they have you throw away. Requested a female massage therapist for my wife and a male was assigned to her. This person acted in a creepy manner in several manners and created a very poor experience for my wife. She felt violated in a number of ways. We complained. The staff listened & asked what we wanted....like we were trying to shake them down when my wife solely wanted to make sure that no other woman would have this experience at their spa. We will never visit again and we would suggest others check who's going to massage them carefully. read more

My wife and I spent a few days at the Carriage House for our honeymoon and enjoyed the Kohler Water Spa. It was absolutely stunningly relaxing. The facility is incredible and fancy. Never been to a water spa until then and we both highly recommend checking it out. By the time we left, we felt rejuvenated and recharged. There's a lot that this place offers to help find relaxation and peace. The massage therapists and staff are wonderful and informative. There was not one time we didn't find comfort in our experience at this place. I'm going the distance to saying that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND to visit this place. The Soul to Sole was one of the best treatments I've had. 80 minuets includes: full body exfoliation, full body foil wrap, facial with cold & hot stones, a shower midway through, hot stone massage, foot massage, and mist spray. The massage table is heated and reclines to your preference. Absolutely phenomenal. Aside from the cafe, sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, the cold plunge pool and meditation room with massage loungers were also my favorite parts of the experience. Clean facilities with an assortment of hygiene, hair products, & snacks throughout for your convenience including staff serving horderves. Plan for a 3 hour visit to enjoy everything. Ah, what a delightful day. I got an all things Kohler 50-minute massage and it was just the rest and relaxation I need. I got there a few hours early to enjoy the thermal room, which includes a hot tub, cold plunge pool and steam room. There are also snacks and a lounge with heated and vibrating chaise lounges. And attendant makes the rounds and brings blankets, too. The locker room is nice with combination locks and fluffy robes. My only complaints are that the attendants will remind you to keep your voices down, even though the waterfalls drown out chatter in the thermal rooms. Also, I'd love some face moisturizer in the locker rooms during the winter as most people I saw there showered after their spa services and I found the toiletries drying. read more

I came for a simple mani/pedi and was super excited to check out the pool area. There was a staff member there who was so rude. First I asked her, since I forgot my swimsuit, if I can sit in the pool area with my robe, to which she said no and told me to go upstairs to wait the hour until my service. I sat up there for awhile and it did not feel right, so I went back downstairs and the front desk woman told me of course I could sit in there with my robe! I don't know why that one woman hated me, but she was SO nice to everyone else in the locker room and when I thanked her for taking my towel she huffed at me.
