Today I got my brows and lashes tinted by Evette, and hair done by my 'go-to' stylist, Elena! Brow and eyelash tinting with Evette was a great experience. She is sweet, informative, and I enjoyed my tinting session so much that I dozed off 3-4 times. My eyebrows are darker and it's the small details that make me smile. I think I will tint my brows and lashes more often because I can see the difference. As for my hair, Elena wowed me again. The shape and color is refreshed and every time I walk through the door, my mom compliments my hair!! My mom is a retired hair weave stylist so her compliments are worth so much! Elena knows how to match color and as you can see with her care, my hair goals of long hair is more than reached! I had my hair "colored " by Erin and she almost completely fried my hair and turned it from a beautiful butter blonde to trailer trash yellowy orange. Betty Habtemariam has helped my skin beyond measure and is so sweet! I've tried everything for my hyperpigmentation /acne prone skin. As a woman of color hyperpigmentation is my worst enemy and Betty has really done a wonderful job of educating me on what my skin needs to be flawless for years to come. Tiffany is The Truth when it comes to skincare. I've had a mini treatment with her, and 3 full on spa facials. The last 2 times were for skin dramas and she fixed me. Amen! One drama was after July 4th vaca and my skin was freaking out from all the sun and sand and sweat. I saw her yesterday because I've got winter dry skin and my skin is so dull and dead and dry. She is so knowledgeable. She'll walk you through everything she's doing. By the end of the treatment, she's worked her magic and my skin is always back on track, and I walk out with a glow! Lately we've been having unexpected inclement weather and so many things have been changed last minute due to this. I got a call from Hannah on Thursday to confirm my appointment for this morning (Saturday). I told her I was nervous and might want to reschedule due to the weather forecast. But she assured me there would be no cancellation fee for the weather. I live an hour and twenty minutes away (I am not considered northern Virginia). This morning my area is already iced down and is expected to have bad weather all day today. So I called this morning and actually spoke with Hannah and told her I did not feel safe driving all the way there and I would like to reschedule. She put me on hold and told me that there would be a 50% cancellation fee...wtf kind of establishment is this?! I'm not a new client... I've been coming for years... wtf kind of establishment is this?! You literally told me two days ago that I wouldn't have had to reschedule and I could keep the appointment and not to worry if there is inclement weather because they will not enforce the cancellation policy due to weather. The sad part is, she didn't deny telling me that when she called to confirm the appointment and just said that I would be charged a 50% cancellation fee... She told me a member of management would call me but it wouldn't be today. I am really disappointment in the way they operate their business. I cried for the first time in years, happy tears! I am almost 50 years old and went down the path of very dark hair and decided last March to go naturally gray and remove the dark color from ends. Today she tinted my bows using the highly coveted sleek brows tinting method & I have to say, it's the most natural brow tint I've ever seen, yet it completely covers the scar I have that runs through my brow! Yay! I'm a fan! A fan of LOUMA! I came here for a Yelp! Elite event and really enjoyed myself. All of the staff members were friendly and I was also able to partake in some hair styling. This is something that usually riddles me with anxiety as my short hair has very tight curls that frizz with the slightest touch. I was hesitant, but so glad that I got to work with Louma! In less than 10 minutes, Louma showed me several different ways that I can style my hair, which is something I truly appreciated as my current style is one I've probably been rocking for about 8 years! She really knew curls and was able to show me a variety of on-trend styles that varied from edgy to classy. I was newly introduced to Dolce Vita while attending a special event. I had the opportunity to learn about all the spa services and enjoy a complimentary facial. Tiffany was an excellent esthetician and offered some great advice on taking care of my skin. I could see treating myself with a full facial treatment at some point. The salon itself is an intimate space but they have it separated quite nicely. Several stylist stations in the front of house followed by an area in the back with rooms for the spa services. Everyone was super friendly and enthusiastic. And the salon seems to have quite a breadth of services beyond hair. In addition to facials/skin treatments, they also offer waxing and botox services to name a few. Quite a nice one-stop shop. The location in McLean is a bit out of the way for me, but I could see myself taking a special trip for that facial. read more

They offer patrons an opportunity to be "members" of the spa. Member receive special, significantly discounted pricing on the services that they select to receive. I called and two weeks before to make an appointment for a haircut with Jean Paul, they confirmed the appointment, a couple of days before the haircut they called me back and asked if I would come at the appointed time, I answered yes. One day before the appointment, they called me again and said that they were canceling the appointment without explaining the reason, I asked if it was possible to make an appointment for another time or another day, they answered no, he was very busy and it was no longer possible to make an appointment with him!! I got my hair cut at Dolce Vita Salon for the first time two days ago. It is a really beautiful salon. Everyone was so nice and made sure I was comfortable and constantly offered tea or coffee. Lu washed my hair and did a fantastic job. She gave me a hot towel hair treatment. It's really relaxing. Then Elena cut and styled my hair. I've followed Elena from her previous salon. She is truly an exceptional hairdresser/stylist/miracle-worker. I found her after repeatedly being disappointed with my short hair experience. She helped my achieve my pixie goals. This was a tough process for me because I have never had short hair before and had no idea I have such a strange and funky hairline situation. She listens with absolute patients and is able to make my thoughts and ideas real. I've gotten so many compliments from her work and couldn't be happier. My stylist was Elena, who was so nice, super professional, and really listened to what I was looking for while also making some great suggestions on what she thought would flatter my hair the most. I went here for a blow out on New Years Eve. I was a bit skeptical because upon walking in I felt out of place. The salon I went to previously has a large plush waiting area, which this one does not. There are 4 chairs seated in front of the hair products for sale. Me and my boyfriend mother had to stand for a while before our stylists were ready. I also had a male stylist shush me away rudley to get to a product I was standing in front of since we could not sit. So I was a bit irritated to start. However, this place deserves 5 stars. Once I met my stylist and shampooer things got better. The woman who washed my hair was wonderful! She was so full of life and did such a great job. Louma did my boyfriends mothers hair. She was very specific about how she wanted her hair to look, and Louma was so wondeful, patient, and did her hair perfectly! She was such a lovely person, and really took her time, and wanted to give the best hairstyle she could. She also cuts my boyfriends hair and always does a phenomenal job. Gloria did my blow out. I told her I wanted big hair, and she gave me big big hair. She gave me the best blow out I have EVER had to top red door salon and colour bar. Just received a confirmation call from the receptionist for my Spa Week appointment which I made over 2 weeks ago. I made an appointment for a Facial and Massage for Thursday, October 14 but she confirmed it for Wednesday, October 13. It's not a mistake on my part because I already had another appointment in my calendar for Oct. 13. So instead of trying to squeeze me in to rectify their mistake, she offered me a slot for just one of the services I had booked. I don't feel that it's appropriate for me to leave work early to receive only one of the services I booked because it was their mistake. No apologies or other accomodations were offered. I cancelled my appointment as well as my husband's. I am deeply disappointed and will not patronize Dolce because of their incompetence. If they can't even setup an appointment correctly, I'd hate to think of what kind of services they would provide hands on on my face or body treatments. If a business cannot properly train their staff to do tasks such as setup appointments or provide resolutions for issues, they do not deserve my business. read more

Went to Dolce Vita for the first time this past weekend and got the Signature European Facial with Allie at the recommendation of a friend. It was a busy Saturday at the salon, but I was quickly whisked back to the spa area, which is separate from the salon. It's not a day spa type of place, a little small back there, but I can tell you their services are top notch. I haven't yet gotten mani/pedi, but i hear they are excellent. On to the facial part... the treatment room was clean and comfortable, with lots of high-end equipment. The products were very aroma-therapy-ish, which I love. Allie forgave me for coming in with a bit of last night's makeup on, and she spent a good deal of time analyzing my skin and discussing what was needed before beginning the treatment. The facial itself was LUXURIOUS! Even the extractions (which are never pleasant - but hey no pain, no gain!) weren't that bad, while still being thorough. 2 days later, and my face still feels like a 6-month old baby's behind! No breakouts, no irritation. I'd recommend Allie to anyone! As a new client, the very sweet receptionist also gave me a welcome package, complete with discounts on future services. Decided to try this salon after I had a conditioning treatment here while waiting to put tires on my car down the street on a Sunday afternoon! After my treatment, I decided to book an appointment for a keratin treatment. I walked into the salon and realized that the treatment I had booked no longer existed- the Brazilian blow out and was quite nervous about the regular La Brasiliana ie- wait 2-3 days before you can wash your hair. I don't know the spelling of my stylist's name or I would write it! (looked online) but she turned out to be AMAZING and so nice! She has been doing the treatment for 3 years and really does know what she is talking about. She also gave me full service as she put my hair in a shower cap for me when I ran to my car in the rain- ugh perfect timing since you can not get your hair wet with this treatment for 2-3 days. Today- I finally washed my hair and I LOVE it! I am so thrilled and I just walked out in the rain and don't look like a poodle as I usually do. yay! Not that there is anything wrong with poodles- but the hair- yea not so much. The only downside was that the treatment was $100 more than what I was quoted on the phone. The good -very thorough micro-dermabrasion, probably one of the best I've had in the area -good extractions -gave me a brow clean-up gratis -advised me not to have a peel on the same day as my skin was too dry The meh -definitely push products, I really hate that.
