After confusing the addresses for Lowell Riverfront Park and Lowell Park on Sunday 25 June 2023 and…read moregoing to Lowell Park, I decided to return and see if I could find Lowell Riverfront Park today, Thursday 29 June 2023. It is located south of Lowell Park and has a sign reading Lowell Riverfront Trail out front of an entrance to a large parking lot. The river is visible beyond a grassy area(s) and vegetation from the parking lot. A flat paved trail winds through the cover of trees and has picnic tables spaced out along its side(s). The grass was cut short on my visit today. A few people were making use of an off-leash dog area past one end of the large parking area. There was a watch out for bears alert sign on the trail and birds were out and singing. An assortment of small wild flowers were in bloom closer to the river. Water flow at the top of the river was slow and the bank of the river muddy. Even with a few people out and about around 10:40 a.m. on a weekday, the park/trail was tranquil.

It's pretty small, so…read moreyou probably wouldn't spend hours here, and there's not a lot of deep underbrush, so it would not be high on potential dead-body-disposal options, but for a place to get your steps in or exercise your dog, it works out nicely. I'm subtracting a star because of the bathroom state. They have two (family) bathrooms which were just filthy pit toilets, swarming with flies and smelling like rotten feces. I would only take a shit here in the most dire of emergencies.

The park itself is pretty big, a nice large lawn with picnic tables and plenty of space to set up a picnic on the grass. Most people seemed to be enjoying lunch in their car or on the grass or next to their cars. A few folks set up their lawn chairs and enjoyed the sunshine but point is, theres a lot space to enjoy the park however you want, it's pretty great! As for dog walking it wasn't a large area for dogs to roam around, dogs must stay on leash or you risk a fine according to the signs there, but it's still a nice area to bring your dog to while you enjoy the view. I had seen pictures of dogs in the water so I knew there had to be a trail somewhere. The lawn has a few levels to it and a lot of grassy spots areas to hang out in between the bushes and off to the left we found a dirt road. The signage was spray painted so you cant read it and the path looks pretty used so we went down it and came to the traintracks. We crossed those and found the beach where further down we saw some other people. Our dogs loved it, they got to enjoy the sunshine, roam on the grass, walk around and swim! We definitely plan on coming back just to enjoy coffee and a view, or have a nice lunch date, watch the sunset, theres quite a few fun possibilities here!

Robins were out foraging in the grass of the soccer fields and a thin haze of wildfire smoke helped block out some of the sun's rays. A couple of the areas of the park were taped off for work to be done without interruption. Parking along the soccer fields was abundant. A few other vehicles/groups came and went while I was here including dog walkers/owners and a police car. Around the perimeter of the soccer fields was a paved walking path with faded painted arrows denoting which direction to travel. Signs along the path communicated the distance of two laps was approximately one mile.

This is a HUGE park. There are so many amenities, from…read more athletic fields of so many types, to a playground and splash pad for kids, and even multiple off leash dog areas. There are open fields and wooded areas if you want to walk around different areas. If you want to have a picnic, there are tables and benches, or even set up a blanket on a grassy area. There are also picnic shelters if you're worried about the weather. The shelters can also be reserved for private events. The only bathroom here is near the splash pad, but it's well supplied with soap and running water. There are multiple parking lots. One lot has EV chargers, but I couldn't figure out if they were working or not. Even on days when the car parks are pretty full, the park is large enough that you don't really feel crowded at all. This is a thoughtfully planned, wonderful multi-use park.

The spinning carousel is fun one for the kids to get dizzy with. This park has regular swings, toddler swings, a harness swing, and two platform swings. There are some basketball courts nearby. And you can go for a short scenic walk on some trails behind the park. My 2 year loves walking the trail.

We usually went midday during the week when it was quietest and then came a couple of times on the weekend as he got more comfortable when there were more people, kids, and other dogs around. The paths are nice for walking and there are some stairs to practice on as well. The park is well maintained and it seems like the people who do bring dogs here keep them on leash and pick up after them. This was extra nice during those puppy phases where everything on the ground ends up in their mouth. Everyone I've chatted with here has been really pleasant and I've never seen anything questionable happening or littered about which is nice. The larger fields in the back are great for letting your puppy run some energy out on a long lead too.

I found this by pure luck. It's in between two houses so it looks like your going down someone's…read moredriveway. They put up cones so you don't race down the path. We were visiting the island and looking for an antique store. My dog loved it! It has a small and big dog area. There was two other big dogs at the park and since my dog is antisocial we went into the small area. If you forgot your dog bags they have you covered, at the entrance there are some free ones. There was so much shade and room to run, my dog loved it. Both sides had benches to sit on. They do have bowls for you to fill with water if it's a hot day. Overall a very nice park.
