I am extremely grateful for this place. I have Knuckles the pig, a beanie baby, since 2001. For 20 years my piglet never got a "bath" haha. There was signs of wear and tear, definitely. Regardless, this piglet is still the most comforting inanimate object I've ever owned. I am grateful for my other half to find this place and even though they kept Knuckles for awhile, the result was amazing. Knuckles was clean, more plump, and more huggable. Should be a no star rating -I had a horrible experience with this company and found them to be very unprofessional! My doll (old - my mothers) was returned with the head broken and instead of trying to find a solution or caring this happened they conveniently put the blame on me. There was no accountability! I do not recommend them or recommend sending them anything precious. Only deal with them in person. read more

I dropped my item off April 25, and May 8 they called to say it was ready. A week later, after calling ahead to confirm they would be there, we made the 45-minute drive to pick up. When we arrived, there was a parade and we had to park far away and walk, only to finally get there and discover they were closed for lunch for the next hour. We couldn't wait, so we left without my item. (The man I had spoken to said nothing about parade barricades or the business closing down for an hour for lunch). It was a waste of time, effort and gas. The following week I called and emailed multiple times with no response. Eventually my husband called and they got back to us, apologizing and saying we could come the following weekend. That Saturday, we called once again to confirm before making another long drive. First we were told, "Sorry, your item isn't ready." Then they called back and said actually it WAS ready, but they "weren't sure which item was ours." At that point I honestly wondered if I would ever see my childhood item again. We did finally get it back, and again, the repair work itself was excellent and the staff is friendly. But the communication, organization, and pickup process were exhausting, especially for something irreplaceable. After all the inconvenience, confusion, and expense, it was disappointing that no discount or accommodation was offered. read more

I went recently to get my precious teddy bear fixed and I live about an hour away but went here because it seemed like the real deal. We booked a consultation in advance. They originally said they couldn't do it same day which I did need to be. After a bit of persuading they agreed to do it same day. After a couple of hours we came back and they repaired the hole and added new stuffing! They did a fantastic job and would 100% come back for any repairs. read more

Blue Bear has seen better days. Anyone who knew my older son when he was growing up knew Blue Bear. He was a constant companion from around the time Brandon was born until he was well into his teens. Blue Bear went everywhere with us. He's been on a cruise to the Caribbean, to Disney and even Japan. His first trip was to Turks & Caicos when Brandon was about 3. Needless to say, the years have not been kind to Blue Bear. I fixed him many, many times always after Brandon was asleep because he wouldn't part with him. I sewed denim on his neck, patched him with pieces of towels and tried to restuff him as best I could. This year I decided to send him off to the Secaucus Doll & Teddy Bear Hospital where the owner said he was in critical condition at best. Nevertheless she took him in and a month later I'm happy to report that he's never looked better. So this year my son Brandon will get a very special gift. I had a teddy bear puppet with a lot of sentimental value that needed to be cleaned, given new stuffing, and have a nose replaced. Not only did the Doll and Teddy Bear Hospital do an excellent job with the restoration, but they were also so kind and caring! They took good care of my "patient", and I will absolutely be returning to them if I need any plushies restored at any point in the future! It can be daunting to turn something like this over to a business, but everyone here was great! I highly recommend them! read more

I am so glad that this place exists, because eventually every family will have that one person who has a cuddle buddy or companion growing up that needs a little help. But this is no patchwork shop. If you want a quick and cheap job, please reconsider that thought and dig deeper for the quality. Skilled hands are at work here. They take the time to do it right, and you can feel how much care is being put in, because the moment we got him back we could feel it radiating off of my wife's Bear. We were so nervous about how his repair might have gone that we left him in his box for weeks after he arrived. Once we finally opened the box our jaws dropped and we were in awe. He looked and felt like he was a better Bear than the day we originally bought him. We are beyond pleased. Could not be more overjoyed having received my 50 yo teddy bear and a homemade Raggedy Andy. It did take a long time (5 months) and was VERY expensive but so worth the time and money. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm so happy. The only complaint was clothes were made for a Raggedy Ann not Andy. But it's not a big deal I have their card and Andy clothes can be made another time. Hard to communicate with, ridiculously priced, disorganized...sent my daughter's stuffed animal to get an estimate on repair and they wanted almost $400 and then when I said that I wouldn't be spending that kind of money it took multiple phone calls before they finally shipped it back and then the eyes and nose that I shipped with the stuffed animal were not returned. The teddy bear I was given for my first birthday (July of 1963) had seen better days - missing an eye, had an ear torn off and was a real mess. In fact, my mom tried to throw him out years ago. Found the Hospital on line and drove up to Secaucus in late February. Picked him up on Saturday. He has both eyes, ears, a nose and a tongue. He has been completely restored and re-stuffed. Could not be more pleased and surprised of how great he looks. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a bear or doll restored. read more

My Mickey is 24 years old they don't make this kind nomore so I had to fix him and found this place and look what happen he is reborn and can enjoy life longer !!! ABSOLUTELY Miraculous! Dr. Anna's daughter Dr. Jeannette fixed my Revlon doll Jilly's neck...she fell off the bed and very very badly cracked her neck wide open. It was as if it never happened. She was cleaned up and looks brand new! They are the most wonderful and kindest people. Do a fabulous job and their rates are very very reasonable. I HIGHLY recommend them. Thanks again so very much. I brought two pillow-like stuffed animals here simply for mending--both had about 2" of pulling apart at the seams. I was quoted a price of $385, and the quote had included restuffing, which neither needed. I felt that I had been clear about the need, that services were being pushed on me and that the work was way overpriced for the services. I appreciate that this work requires craftsmanship, but as someone who sews, I know this task would take an expert (which I am not) 20 to 30 minutes. read more

"Head Nurse" Ana and the rest of the "hospital" staff did a WONDERFUL job!!!!! We took my beloved teddy bear of 37 years in for repair (yes I'm a grown-ass woman who still has her teddy bear around, so sue me). After 37 years he was in desperate need of a glow-up, and I could not be more thrilled with the results. I literally squealed when they brought him out. They took my beloved yet somewhat run-down and raggedy bear and gave him new life! They stuffed him back up and cleaned him inside and out, and the result is a teddy that is most definitely still my bear, not an overly fixed version, but much much better than the sad state I'd left him in. If you have any dolls or teddies need in repair, I highly recommend this shop! The service was not cheap, but it was worth it. We took my 68-year old Teddy Bear to Ana Casas at the "Hospital" with great trepidation. Teddy was in a very poor state, his head almost falling off. We explained to Ana that we did not want him significantly changed. She understood perfectly. Since we do not live locally, we only returned after 4 months, but we were in touch. The job she did on Teddy was 100% what we hoped for. Ana and her husband are dedicated, honest, reliable, and responsive. Although the service is not cheap, it is impeccable.
