I had my eyebrows done first and then, when i went back for a touch-up, I had eyeliner done. Janell is a true artist with a wonderful eye for shape and color. She is also caring and extremely careful with the numbing process. I am a blond and, although I have eyebrows and eyelashes, both are so fair they were invisible. Now, i wake up in the morning with both eyes and eyebrows that I can see! I could not be happier with the results and wish I had done this years ago. I am so happy that I found Janelle at Doll Face. I love the idea of permanent make up, and she is an excellent practitioner. I had her tattoo on upper and lower lid eyeliner, as well as full lips (lipliner and lips filled in with color). She has lots of colors to pick from. She uses single use equipment, which means that what she uses on you is sterile. Janelle took her time with me, and made sure she used lots of local numbing cream, so the discomfort was minimal (there is always going to be some discomfort, but Janelle kept it to a minimum). She works by doing all the base work on your first visit, sort of like a first pass. Then you come back 3 or 4 weeks later, after everything has totally healed up and settled down, when she can tell how your skin is going to react to the ink. On the second visit she does finishing touches - adding more color where needed etc. On the second visit she reapplied eye liner to make it more distinctive, then added a gorgeous purple "halo" line around the base brown - very cool look. I went to Janell for brows and eyeliner. I've never had permanent makeup before. I wish I had done this 10 years ago!!! I love it!!! Janell is kind and warm and put me right at ease. She used a light touch and the results are amazing. It looks entirely natural and I love waking up and having eyebrows (mine were light colored and sparse). She used a great numbing gel and I applied the healing ointment even more than required afterwards and looked great, healed perfectly and had no down time. I've been wanting permanent eyeliner for a while, but didn't want to pay what my friends paid for theirs (which was a fortune). I saw a Living Social deal for Doll Face Permanent Cosmetics and thought I'd try them. I called Janell and we easily set up an appointment. I have a few tattoos, but have never tried permanent make-up. I was a little nervous about having a tattoo gun (she used an electric pen) so close to my eyes. Janell explained what she was going to do and answered all my questions. I felt like I was in the hands of a professional. A numbing ointment was applied to my eyes and left on for 10 minutes before she started on the first eye. She said before she started that if something hurt or if I felt discomfort to let her know and she would stop and re-numb the area. Well, I felt some discomfort (soreness) but I'm not the type of person to whine about pain so I just toughed it out. The second eye, which had more time to absorb the numbing ointment, wasn't nearly as painful. The whole process was about an hour. I left with a care kit to take care of the new tattoos at home. When I got home, I took an Advil and iced my eyes for about 20 minutes. I felt fine afterwards. The results: Amazing. The permanent eyeliner looks fantastic - I wish I'd done this sooner. My boyfriend thinks it looks great. I'm very happy with the results. Overall, I'd recommend Janell and Doll Face Permanent Cosmetics, but you may want to leave the numbing oimtment on a little longer if you're sensitive to pain. read more

Janell is the best !!!!! I had my under eyeliner and brows done first. I wanted a medium to subtle effect. Nothing too bold. Janell was very patient, gentle and created exactly what I wanted. I was so happy that I went back for the top eyeliner as well. Now I'm thinking about doing some lip work as I'm getting older and they just don't look the same anymore. I love my lips and am very fussy about the results. I know that I can trust Janell. No one touches my face without my complete trust. I found Janell through a co-worker who has a very pale strawberry blonde complexion. Janell's work on her was so soft and beautiful that I decided to give it a go ( I have Italian coloring but don't want to look fake). Boy am I glad I did. Originally I had braced myself for a very painful process. To my surprise, Janell does a great job of pre-numbing the area. Some practitioners try to cut the numbing time, which of course results in more pain, but not Janell. My sister-in-law went to someone else and said that the pain was almost unbearable. What more can I say except that you should have an idea what you want before you see her. The more specific you can be, the more she can meet your expectations. That aside, Janell is a true artist and brings a innate esthetic to her work. Go for it. I love always looking ready to step out the door without any fuss.
